[0.25] Astronomer's Visual Pack - Interstellar V2
hawk_za replied to Astronomer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
hi all I just discovered ckan (only NOW can one believe that:D) and saw the astronomers visual enhancement's and thought ahaaaa this is how all the you tubers make there planet so damb pretty. but every time I try and install this mod via ckan the game crashes on load just after its booted all the textures into mem. (ie JUST before main screen menu.) I am running 1.0.4 and was wondering if that had something to do with that. all I wanted were the clouds when I went flew then the clouds and city's on kerbin when I was in orbit but nothing I do seems to work. any help or advice on this subject would be greatly welcome. sorry for the edit but I thought pc specs might help OS = windows 7 cpu = intel core i5 4670 ram = 8 gigs gfx = radeon R9270 -
hi all can you believe it I have just now discovered this piece of rare jem. its increased my mods folder from 6 to about 20 lol so first off awesome thank you a F&^% ton for developing this. secondly I would like to ask is there a way to create a favorites group in this soft wear for uninstalled mods so I can keep the mods I like in a specific group so when a new patch comes out I don't have to wright them all down before uninstalling them yours in respect and admiration the hawk from za

Make Hot Parts Glow!
hawk_za replied to Steambirds's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
NICE good suggestion +1 to agree -
I am in full agreement with the op man to have nose cone that do things and are not just dead weight is a great and grand thing

I really don't get all the fuss that has been kicked up over 1.0.1and 1.0.2 last time I checked it was a good thing for a dev company to update there product I personally saw only a drop in the deadliness of re-entrée between the patches but then again maybe im just not very good at this game what I do fear is now instead of rushing to fix the remainder of the bugs squads going to be even more meticulous before making ANY changes to the game as to not invoke the wrath of the community .......

[1.0.4] BoxSat vA.02f - Updated 09/16/2015
hawk_za replied to DasPenguin85's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
hi there I would like to put in a request to the mod creator I know you are as busy as hell but I figured if I don't ask there's no chance I would like to know if it will be possible to integrate the graphatron 2000 mod into this sat package its currently out of date but there are a few modders on the below link that have taken up the graphatron mantel http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/38319-0-21-x-Graphotron-2000 I definitely am not asking for any time lines here as I know any collaboration is tricky but definitely feel that both mods could benefit from a collaboration effort -
VAB upgrade curve too steep!
hawk_za replied to herbal space program's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
LOL funny guy I was thinking the same thing -
LOOK OH PEOPLE OF HOMELESS LAND I HAVE BUILT YOU HOUSES WITH RUNNING WATER AND ELLECTRICITY (peoples response) awwww but now the view is ruined (smaller % of people) THIS IS UNACCEPTIBAL look how you have ruined the grass and the mountain by digging up the rescores you needed and look at those nasty eyesaw cables people will never be happy is just part of the human condition I guess I don't get what all the controversy is about I could fly launch and orbit in .90 I can fly orbit and launch in 1.0.2 just flying seems a bit easier oh and now instead of straight up for 10km I must start my turn immediately (and do it SLLLLOOOOWWWWLY ) But then again maybe i'm just not very good at this game

mr Aerindel with all due respect you not the only one who has 10000s of hours of gameplay into this game I have been with this project since about .17 and have a fairly good understanding of how these game mechanics work and how they used to work. For goodness sakes nose cones would hinder launches. you lay claim that this game was never tested or if the team had done Even a halfway competent testing ......so what do you think scott manly and other more capable players more so than myself or you, were doing during the period between .90 and 1.0 emergency action was needed to save the game after 1.0 I call bull your entire argument is based an vagueness and insubstantiality you using inflammatory insults to bring across the way you are feeling by insulting the work of others so far if you are such a hot shot why were you not on the test team could you have done better...........I think not and maybe that's why you going on like this. then you backtrack and talk about the testers not having the actual 1.0 so (were you or were you not on the test team) as only a test team player will know that if not stop talking about things you know nothing of Your posts in this thread are not helping ANYONE. Please rather than wasting peoples time, compile a bug report with actual data i.e. at this speed at this height the wings no longer work (example) then post the bug but don't come into a forum and say other peoples work was rubbish because that only upsets people. yours in service the hawk - - - Updated - - - the problem with opening up the testing process to the wider community is that it increases exponentially the amount of useless reports you have to filter through wasting dev time And in the end you find out that you fix less bugs than if you had kept the team relatively small. to paraphrase it is quality over quantity of bug reports that you want as a game dev

that is insane if a game mechanic is not working correctly it should be fixed REGRDLESS of version number to that point we all know squad is working on multiplayer for post 1.0 that's a core aspect of the gameplay but he our software has a 1.0 tag so in the words of tatu you aint goanna get it (heheh) I defiantly feel there has just been an self justified overreaction here over what a version no this is getting insane now
-
just my 2 cents I feel that not only was 1.0 a huge improvement over .90 but I also feel that 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 went a ways to fix a few of the more glaring errors in the matrix and this i.m.h.o could not have been achieved without the help of the test team I for on would like to take a moment to stand up and say thank you thank you for not only helping the dev team with things I would like to have helped with but just could not due to work and lack of fundamental understanding of coding but doing it for FREE over days and days and nights and ....well you get the gist I myself am a volunteer fireman and trust me when I say do a kindness and be scared no you cant please everyone but I recon you guys, dev team and test team did a phenomenal job it is indeed a pity that our previously kind community has degenerated into this abysmal cesspool of name calling and blame throwing and fault finding bug reports are one thing but come on guys we are so much better than this lets all try reign it in and see how we can repair this schism we are creating yours in service the hawk

Are fairings useless?
hawk_za replied to zarincos's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
rather launch your rover facing vertically it would save you quite allot yet another example of trying do do things the old way we need to try and keep our rockets slimmer -
I've just got 14 minutes out of the nuclear engines. Stock parts
hawk_za replied to juanml82's topic in KSP1 Discussion
could not have put it better we need to star looking at how we are doing things we have been too mollycoddled in the old .90 ksp ITS SPACE its meant to be hard to do for crying out aloud -
no they're not you just have to change the way you do things that's all the old tricks will not work with the new aero
-
I have no problem with the new fairings and have no encountered this problem in my play trough's

Please do NOT rush 1.1!
hawk_za replied to AbhChallenger's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Resources: * Replaced overheat mechanic of the ISRU and drills with a skill-based mechanic. * Removed Overheat Throttle mechanic. * Increased mass of Ore tanks to match wet/dry ratio of stock tanks. * Aerodynamics * New values for physics global drag and lift multipliers. * Added a CoP offset calculation to procedural fairings * Fix for the aero debug drag arrows switching directions. Added body lift arrows (cyan) * Fixed occlusion on mk2 docking port. * Fix for Laythe's atmosphere. okay someone please explain to me what a center of pressure or CoP is -
Contracts for career mode
hawk_za replied to WOODY01's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I could not agree more we need more satellite contracts I would also suggest moving the ore scanner closer to the beginning of the tech tree so we could get ore scanning contracts and that also then reserves the drilling and harvesting of the ore till later game -
