  1. Hey, everyone. I've been playing this game for a bit more than 2 months, and love it to death. I've managed to land on the Mun and Minmus, as well as performing several successful dockings, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to land a rover on a low gravity body. I've managed it once with a skycrane/lander hybrid (which ultimately failed due to the fact that it kept flipping forward whenever it moved, whoops), but is there any other way to do it? The skycrane/lander thing is quite unstable and isn't going to work when better aerodynamic models are implemented.
  2. :0.0:Right... Have you found that Unicorn lair yet? Because if you do, it will prove that the KSC was the capital (capitol?) of an ancient Kerbal civilization! Anyway, I've been messing around with a flag-generator program, and conjured up this: The program I used is quite good, you can find it here.
  3. So there was a thread from before that whole forum crash detailing a challenge to place an aesthetically pleasing base on the Mun. I was working quite hard on that, and had just finished it when the crash occurred. Upon seeing that the thread was not recreated, I decided to replicate it myself. After all, why let all that hard work go to waste? Kenry and Malhat in front of their base at the systems check. So far, everything looks good! Many, many launches and redesigns later... Ascension! Honestly, there were so many launches, I'm not sure this is the one that made it... Performing the gravity turn. I had previously neglected to attempt the gravity turn, as I did not quite trust myself, but for this launch it was necessary. Circularizing. This thing was so heavy it took much more fuel than I had anticipated... Approaching the Mun. I ran out of fuel on the actual rocket that I had to resort to using the engines installed on the base to transit. Getting awfully close. Around this time I began getting kind of stressed. I was not, nor am I now, very good at Mun landings. Nearly there... Very anxious now... Touchdown! As you might imagine, I was very pleased with myself. Kenry outside his new home. So what about you? I'm sure you have some great Munbases to show off as well as great stories to tell!
