  1. I flew this on Eve (gliding down from orbit), but when I opened the intakes/started the engines the wings ripped off. It did glide very well though, and probably would've been fairly straightforward to land. (landed on parachutes)
  2. Hey, now that .22 is getting a sub assembly loader, flinging giant planes into space should be much simpler. Before, I had to build a rocket set up for every variation of plane I launched (took forever to get right). When .22 comes out, I'll just be able to save a small, medium, and large version of each rocket system and slap them on whatever plane I feel like sending into the wild black yonder (*cough* ..Lancaster). I'll definitely be looking forward to that update.
  3. That was Dr. Who, I remember that scene. I think it was the Dalek WWII episode. (not a WHO fanatic, but watch it for my ladyfriend). Snjo, thanks for the compliment. It's "Das Luftwagen" (the flying cart/bus/car), I cut it out of an old VW ad I found on the internet. And Bubba, I see what you mean now, the decal does make it look like the cockpit is sideways. I just used the tall decouplers and generous amounts of bracing, it cleared the cockpit fine.
  4. Interplanetary Firespitter K-17 (well more of an interplanetary stage and some massive boosters attached to a K-17 to deliver it to other planets) It's kind of old news, but the old one corrupted and this is the new improved version (with cup holders)
  5. No, the cockpit is fixed to the fuselage. It may just be the odd lighting (the lights reflect off the inside of the cockpit and look strange from the outside).
  6. The Lancaster engines are looking pretty awesome (they would look pretty good on a P-40 style plane too) Are you making a Lancaster cockpit/fuselage sections to go with it? Also, I made a new and improved Interplanetary K-17. It now has all stock parts (except you know... the K-17) and is electric. the embodiment of MOAR BOOSTERS! Currently orbiting Minimus, waiting for a fuel barge.
  7. Tested the restroom function of Seanmore's suit
  8. Just wanted to say thanks again for making and continually updating this mod pack. It (and B9) make KSP planes so much more fun! I figured I'd also share a few of my recent Firespitter creations. 1) the updated K-29 SuperKerbalFortress (no double wing) 2) A more sexified utility K-17. I don't want to clutter your thread with too many screenshots, just wanted to say thanks
  9. Here's a few of my recent B9 Vehicles. The UO-1 "Dogolpon" spaceplane (yet to make it into space...) Still in testing, unstable at high altitudes (excellent for safe spaceplanes Second is the KF-4 "classified name" jet. I made this as a simple, fun jet for flying practice and Kerbin exploration (figured i need to build a plane before i try a spaceplane... the whole walk before run thing). Also as a bonus, it turned out to be wicked fast and very stable. Jeb and Bill are currently attempting to circumnavigate Kerbin in a prototype. It really lives up to its name. Also, my hugely successful "Dreadnaught" cargo plane
  10. Something to do with a Nazi rocket plane's first flight? (first manned rocket flight)
  11. If you do, you should use the "follow the leader" mod (or whatever it's called) to have a passel of Kerbals
  12. Update! Bill and his Crew, bored of sitting around in Kafrica, decided to attempt to fly the stricken Dogolpon back to the KSC using its secondary engines (4x sabre s engines). Sadly, Bill was killed in a horrific ladder accident right before takeoff. However, his crew was able to get the plane airborne again and flew back to KSC with no issues (aside from Bob's corpse falling out of the "not food" cabinet mid flight). It's now at the Kerbal Space Exploration Museum on the old airfield. WOO, salvage missions!!
  13. Before 0.21 I had several airplane wrecks scattered around Kerbin (mostly modified Firespitter K-17's). There were two perfectly useable ones I was going to salvage and keep as trophies. First was "Bigfoot," a utility K-17 that ran out of fuel and was landed intact in a valley. Second was the "Yeti," a Firespitter/B-9 cargo plane, that flew gift baskets to my polar base and was abandoned there. I also had most of a "Mun Donkey" ship and a "K-17 I" abandoned on the moon and a "K-17 I" on Eve. Then the great .21 solar flare destroyed all exposed vessels. In the post .21 Kerbal Space Program, Bill's "Dogolpon" spaceplane crash landed on a beach during initial testing, and is now a high class hotel/fuel depot
  14. After a slight facelift, the first "Termite Queen" mobile base made it safely to the Mun! Probably should have tested that capsule before launching it. It breaks off with the slightest bump, but aside from that it works fine. (espescially for my first non-Kerbin rover) This was a very annoying problem. I am probably happier than that Kerbal.
  15. Just got my first "Termite Queen" mobile base on the Mun! Also, it got the name from its shape
  16. Logic is optional (atleast when Jeb's flying)
  17. some more ummm.... "development" with the Termite Queen! Finally got the rover towing worked out. Grappling hook works! (sort of)And I got this sexy lobster flyingTime to get this baby to the Mun! *que Benny Hill theme* (also, not in order)Kerbin... we have a problem WHY ARE YOU SMILING YOU SADIST!?almost Jeb's mission was going well up until this point (mainsail broke off afterwards)
  18. I've been wanting to make a large-scale munar (and possibly Duna) rover/mobile base capable of carrying 3 Kerbals, is completely self sustained (who needs sunlight), and carries a separate rover. This is the first to *almost pass* the testing phase; the ever so sexy-named "Termite Queen". Basically it's a driving B9 Aerospace cargo hull with wheels, a few generators, and a Firespitter bomber nose thrown in for good measure. I'm still in the Kerbin testing phase, but I've almost got all of the bugs worked out. Probably the coolest feature is that it has the small aircraft landing gear mounted under each wheel section. That way, even if I completely rip off a few wheels I can keep using it.http://i1328.photobucket.com/albums/w522/MrIronMoose/screenshot111_zps4710f29f.png' alt='screenshot111_zps4710f29f.png'>It's powered by fear Training wheels!Still needs a bit of work...
  19. Just tested it without the double wing and it still flies fine. Is there actual aerodynamic modeling in KSP? After seeing some spaceplanes that seemed to be just big wads of wings, I was under the impression that it was more of a "i am a wing and no matter what i produce lift at a specific angle" type of thing.
