[0.23+] Escepadie Systems (Stockalike Telescopic dual suspension Legs)
jfull replied to Adie123's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Very nice, looks like it belongs in game. -
They're still probably pretty baffling to Kerbal science
-
Well, the according to the wiki, Eve has no known easter eggs. Can anyone confirm? It seems like Eve might just be under-explored. Has anyone considered doing a search of it (either a plane or even an airship)? So far the only thing of interest that I've found is a little rock who seems very indifferent to Eve's strong gravity:
-
Ike maybe? If there's Kethane there, it might be somewhat useful.
-
I have my sights set on Vall for a similar mining setup. A habitat, a refinery, and mining vehicles on the surface; with a big fuel depot in orbit.
-
Not on my current save, no. And if I did have a mining outpost on the Mun, I'd probably build it very differently this time
-
Thanks, though I didn't have Kethane installed at the time, so I couldn't have used it for mining.

Solar panel with peak some distance from sun?
jfull replied to seanth's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Well, maybe. But that would only be because they might be intolerant to brighter light for other biological reasons. I'm fairly certain that any photosynthetic or photoelectric effect will only get more effective as the light level increases. -
Almost forgot this one: Joolian moon survey satellites A simple unmanned mission to drop Kethane scanners around Bop, Vall, and Laythe. Basically just a bunch of probes stacked on top of a nuclear booster. By swinging by each moon, I lowered my orbit slightly without having to burn, putting me in a good position to reach the next target. I think Jool might be a singularity in disguise...

Just a thread for a bunch of spacecraft I've made, I'll probably keep adding to it. Just some notes about me and my spacecraft: sometimes I build for looks or unique gimmicks instead of using the most efficient or ideal designs. Currently, the main mods I use are B9, tri-hexagonal struts, Kethane, KAS, KSPX, and Procedural fairings. I call my space program Kerbco Transit Services (KTS) KTS Titan- Mega Mun Lander One of my first missions under Kerbco, I set the odd objective of building a giant lander/base around the large octo-strut crew tank. As it was meant to be a base, it wasn't built to be return capable. The crew tank could hold 15, but I decided to go with a crew of 10, including the pilot. Ultimately, I abandoned the Titan when I started a new save. KTS Aries- Duna Landing and Return This one was my first big interplanetary mission. 3 Kerbals to Duna Orbit, a 2 man landing, and then a return to Kerban. For an odd gimmick, I decided that the lander was going to need to fit inside one of the B9 payload bays… for protection from… space something. Bob’s Gilly Floater On a whim, I decided to throw something together for a visit to Gilly. The main feature would be a small “floater†craft, using RCS to fly around in the ridiculously low gravity. Unfortunately… not everything went as planed. Kerbco Station and The Mayfly After the Duna mission, I started taking an interest in building SSTOs using the B9 parts. Probably my favorite design was a compact, single seater I called The Mayfly. With the kinks getting ironed out of my SSTOs, I decided to send up a station for them to dock at. Then Jeb got some funny ideas… If anyone wants the craft files for these, let me know! Currently working on: the KTS Venture, a heavy-hauling ship to bring payloads out to Jool.
-
Oh wow... that makes my Mayfly compact SSTO look like a jet liner by comparison. You should dock a few of them on an interplanetary ship and send them to Laythe, they'd be perfect.
-
Well, funny you should say bigger because, for my next project, I went in exactly the opposite direction The Mayfly: ...I still can't believe it makes it to orbit This prototype has way to much liquidfuel though, and not enough oxydizer to de-orbit it. I'll fix it in the final version, which will also be able to dock.
-
My first ever SSTO I Just need to tweak its capabilities a bit, but I should be able to use it to ferry Kerbals and a small amount of cargo to and from space stations and interplanetary craft in Kerbin orbit.
-
No, I'm not. I actually can recall that on one flight, the engines did completely flame out at different times, causing an unrecoverable spin. What could be causing a slight difference in airflow? Also, I've been tweaking the design a bit, kinda "turbocharged" it, as well as made some preparations for it to carry cargo
-
Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but I'm looking for advice about getting my design to go SSTO After many tries with more conservative, SR-71 and fighter jet inspired designs, I decided to pull out all the stops and build something with serious power. What I ended up with had elements of space shuttle, WWII bomber, hot rod, and pod racer. As it turned out, it handles well, and has all the power it looks like it has. Unfortunately it still seems to run out of air before it ought to. on one flight, when I was fearing flame-out, I switched to rocket mode early and ended up with this trajectory (forgot to throttle down first, damn those big sabres pack a punch but they drain fuel so fast) This is, so far, the best result I've gotten out of it.

[0.25]KSP Interstellar (Magnetic Nozzles, ISRU Revamp) Version 0.13
jfull replied to Fractal_UK's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Just an idea, but maybe you could partner up with the Kerbal attachment system people to create electrodynamic tethers? Wikipedia page they're funny little setups that allow for the conversion of motion to electricity or electricity to motion while in a magnetic field. You seem to already have stuff like planetary magnetic fields partially implemented, so this might make for an interesting use for them. -

Wow, not many people would take the time to make something like that for someone else's mod you should release this on your own too, as a simple hitchhiker replacement.
