Do you have the newest copy of Firespitter? I just verified that it works. The only real purpose of it is to add the vehicle sounds through firespitter, and generate electric charge. I noticed you have the throttle down as well? Try updating firespitter, throttling up, and staging the engines. You should hear the engine run and see it add electricCharge. beyond that, the only issue I can see is it might just not generate charge as fast as the udpated wheels are using it.

No, it changes stock engines, not all engines. Looks like you are using Realplume. Realplume is another fx mod that uses HotRockets assets. Don't use them at the same time, there is no reason to and they will not work correctly. This goes for any mods editing effects for any given engine at the same time, really. edit: also, there won't be configs for newer engines like the stock shuttle SSME. But if you want to edit config files and add the plumes you see in the screenshots from the OP to any engine, it is an option. -

I will be updating the current parts because they are broken, but they will become the legacy versions of the shuttle. The intent is that there will be one officially supported shuttle.

I posted very recently and said it was being worked on... 1.1 isn't supported until I release an updated version. This means we don't need the thread spammed with posts speculating whether the mod is good to go for 1.1.

It already exists, the new one is the 2.7x5.5 shuttle. The old shuttles will be legacy downloads, and the largest one will be the "official" version of the mod.

New things and old things are being worked on. We have limited free time. As for the new wheels, I'm not enjoying the buggy qualities of the new modules, but they will work about as well as other 1.1 wheels.

The legacy version on Spacedock works with both 1.05 and 1.1. I've updated the OP with a mirror for the Spacedock download. -
I uploaded a new version of the original shuttle to spacedock- Dauntless Orbiter update 4.3.1 -balanced shuttle mass by changing fuel amounts and locations -new tuning for aerodynamic properties - craft will respond faster to controls -adjusted torque and charge drain rate -added lift back to rear surface -added texture for rear mount shroud to pack -new craft file (see first post of the KSO forum thread.) If you don't use the rear shroud and want to save texture space, you can remove the kerbin_space_station textures from your Parts folder. Any existing saved craft you have will need to have new versions of the wings and rear tank replaced, or you can use the craft file pack in the OP to get the updated craft file.

This mod doesn't interact with particle effects or engines. Can you be more specific about what you're seeing? I have Ven's mod installed and it is showing effects. Edit: your issue is probably his patch for engine effects. Remove VSR-Hotrockets from vens folder if you don't have hotrockets. -

I think I'll opt for not worrying about CKAN. The mod was uploaded to Spacedock, that is where I am distributing it. If someone wants the mod they can get it there. Enjoy. -

@GreenWolf I didn't put together the files on CKAN, and this is looking like a good reason for me to not add mods to CKAN in the future. You can install VTS manually off of the spacedock link, and Karbonite is not needed. @plague006 Please remove Karbonite from the dependencies. -
Actually, the modulemanager patches in the FX folder are still used to tune the heat resistance for the shuttles in once place. So you can just bump up the values in that file, I have not tried it out with deadly reentry or any similar mods though.

Thanks for your feedback - we have had feedback about the parts not being very modular since we released the first version, but the mod's target audience has always been people who wanted to be able to fly a shuttle in KSP without pulling their hair out trying to do it. The first shuttle was released when there were no actual shuttle parts in the game, only the oddly shaped original Mk3 parts, and now there are even more nice part packs for making spaceplanes with modular parts. If there are specific parts you would really like to use in more ways, it's not that difficult to write a modulemanager patch to move nodes or enable surface attachment for your own use. If you feel attention to detail is a strong point of the mod now, wait until you see what is coming for the next version of the game.
