I want to know the ISP of the new engine, mainsail has 330s in vacuum which is a pretty bad one, so, if the new engine is more powerful, will it be less efficient?

Yesterday I met a textbook like kraken when testing one of my SSTO spaceplane. At first, I was preparing the payloads (10 kerbals). Then I found one of them unwilling to stand up. He just too tired to do another space flight. "Not again..." However, his exploration nature won all the laziness and tireness. One kerman should never forget his own seatbelt... After a long long ascend, when meeting the altitue of about 24,000m, the kraken greeted all the passengers. The process was like thunder and lightning, one second before, all things were just fine and dandy, the next second, a kerbal was tear to a very large triangle and slash the whole plane and smash it into piece, literally... I seldom met such destrution that powerful as this one even in a land crash but Jeb seemed fine for this one.

Yes, but just for transportation from the surface of a planet to low orbit. I made a spaceplane that could take off from runway and take 5 kerbals to the spacesation on LKO then go back to KSC. I am also testing some spaceplaces which can ship my kerbals between laythe's surface and orbit. But I don't think I will use spaceplane for a interplanetary travel. Too much dead weight.

Could you post the location on map mode with an image link? I used kerbal map to find the location but sometimes it was hard to locate the precise location. Just a link to an image is fine, I do not want to spoil it. Thanks.

I read the devnote this week and it tells almost nothing about 0.24. However, it is reasonable because everyone earn a holiday when they finish the year with hard work. Hope to see some new version info on next devnote.

Just landing is easy, no more difficult than landing on mun. It was the landing into Mohole that really killing me.

Yeah, you are right. Robotic missions are more realistic for now. Curiosity is a good example, a mobile lab on mars. I hope we can have a similar one on the moon. I do wish we can see man stepping on the moon once more after all these year. But I don't expect we can see a mannad lunar mission within 10 years, or maybe 20 years. However, I think I can live to see one before my end of life. There is always ambitions in human spirit.

The only hope of that, for now, depends on two countries, China & the US. The American said they are planning to return to the moon but NASA is suffering from budget reduction. Private companies like the SpaceX? I think they focus more on commercial missions which make profit. Russia and ESA are similar. So, China may be the last hope for you to see another man stepping onto the moon. However, there are many uncertainties waiting in the future. First, the gov has never made an manned mission announcement yet. All we know right now is pre-project research. Second, China still need to establish their own heavy load rocket which can support a manned mission. Third, no one know about how the economy will change. The US did Apollo when she was the strongest but China is still rising. A mission only aiming to put a foot step on the moon will be considered ineconomical.

If laythe has some abnormally , i would say laythe, but for now it is just one boring little water ball with some small island. So, my answer will be Duna which has so many interesting place, the face, the sstv signal and Ike !

If you are planning to assemble your base on the moon, the very first thing you need to learn is the method to land on a precise location. Even you equip all your base parts with wheels, you won't want to drive them tens of km on the moon for rendezvous. The second thing is estimate how many parts your computer can handle. Many times I found myself facing the fact that lag is the biggest enemy to my plans. Third, make a full size model base on kerbin and test it carefully. If it works, it may still have problems because mun has lower gravity.

You can read a comic named Moonlight Mile. It talks about a fictional competition both in space and on the moon between China and the US. The most interesting things is the author draw this comic even before China's 1st manned mission.

Base on my own test flight, the new engine has a very high tolerance to the low air intake condition. Even 0.03 air allow the engine maintain power with air breathing mode. This is excellent! An old jet engine will be shut down when air drop below 0.10 if thrust is on max but the rapier will not. However, it seems if you have dual rapier and let them running in a low dense atmosphere, they sometimes have different thrust and may change your direction. They are still running but with different output. I really like the light effect when they are running at full thrust but the sound effect sound quite odd to me. I don't like it. Never mind, Rapier is a good engine and it provide us many new possibilities on both rockets and spaceplanes design .

Yes，I met the same thing. All my sstos docking on several stations all lost one side of their winds. And the now flipping the whole station with no reason and all the reaction wheel can not stop this spinning. I have to abandon them right away.
