  1. There pretty much is no guarantee, unless you can find a perfectly flat spot to land on that's the same as your test docking area. I'd build a crane type vehicle and send that to your base as well, it may help you get those tricky ones to dock a lot easier. You'll need Kerbal Attachment System for that.
  2. I notice other things besides the volume myself. Like crackling when there's a bit of lag, or engines cutting in and out while in map view doing a burn etc.
  3. Have you tried giving the area that won't dock a little nudge with another ship?
  4. Well, Kerbin is in it, so anywhere near Kerbins orbit around Kerbol should be within that zone. As for an equation, you would probably have to know exactly how hot Kerbol actually is etc. I don't think that sort of info is in the game, so I would just put your station either a bit closer or a bit further out from Kerbins orbit and you should be fine.
  5. Hey all. I've got a crane built, and I'm trying to have it able to lift/move about 10 tons around without being overly off balance. In the picture below the piece is a bit over 10 tons, but driving around is a little unstable. If I slow too much or hit the brakes etc. it tips over. Any suggestions on what to do to make it better? Maybe the front wheels further up/wider? I was going to add some more weight to the back, but couldn't find any good parts that were small and weigh a lot to throw back there. I'm just about to head off to bed, but wanted to post this before that. So thanks in advance for any help
  6. I've got a 3D printed Jeb to keep my Raynor Noobz company.
  7. I would just send another ship with enough fuel to pick them both up. Then plant a flag
  8. If you're looking for something simple and small you can check this out: http://www.twitch.tv/ksptv/b/441088019 at 15:15 I decouple it to drive it around. It's pretty stable, and has room for 1 Kerbal to ride around on. You could probably lower it a bit more to make it even more stable, and another RTG or a couple more solar panels.
  9. Depends exactly where your orbit is. You might be able to get away with 3000m. 5k would probably be your safest bet.
  10. I'm not interested in a "chat mate" while playing. But I would be interested in an interesting save file exchange. See: Some sort of competitive space race play
  11. Those docking ports look a little weird to me. Are they stock ones? I pretty much always use the medium sized and large ones, maybe they're the small ones and that's why they look weird to me
  12. +1 to this. I'd love to see a storage facility you can/need to fill up with items or samples from each planet and moon. Returning everything safely from each planet would be fun
  13. I generally just have them on satellites as an "incase I need to make adjustments" plan, after I've ditched the main engines to get there.
  14. I'd use what fuel you have left to circularize your orbit a bit more. Probably get the side that's almost touching the Mun further up so the orbit is slower, then send a rescue craft with space for all the Kerbals to match that orbit and EVA them over.
  15. I don't think GTA V is using this, since it just seems to be a purchasable development build of an engine, and a game built on it when they are done with it. Don't see many physics simulators on consoles, usually because the hardware can't handle it. I could be wrong though, but too lazy to search
  16. It's not space related, but it' supposed to be a physics simulator. BeamNG
  17. I've set up a small base just next to an arch near the equator. I actually highlighted a video of landing my rover there recently if you want to see. It's near the huge crater near the equator
  18. The hotkey is R. If you find your Kerbal spinning away because you bumped into something too hard, time warp can fix that.
  19. Very nice, well done. I don't think I would ever build anything that large though. FPS would be in the gutter
  20. I'd like to see a lot more skybox options. The mod is new obviously, so I'm sure there will a bunch thrown out eventually. I've seen some in this thread that I liked that weren't set up for download As someone above said, EVA suits would be sweet. A Raynor suit with skull would be sweet. Or lots of other suits
  21. I really hope Unity gets the ability to use more RAM etc. soon. I want to use all these textures but I keep crashing after 15m or so If I don't want to crash I pretty much should only use the sky texture and 1 planet? Or is even that too much, maybe just the sky by itself?
  22. My god, a Starcraft 2 Raynor suit complete with skull on the glass would be awesome.
  23. Will you still have the packs uploaded too? I'd prefer to just grab them all
  24. Looks amazing. Can't get them on your dropbox though. Saw your edit about uploading elsewhere too. Thought about putting them up on the Space Port as well?
