It's this mod: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/aviation-lights-v1-2/ And it's very cool
-
It stopped almost immediately. After dropping it I boosted into a half orbit and went back to make sure it stopped. I did crash it a couple times on the way to a Kethane vein though, lol.
-
Well, it was more of an air drop, or zero-atmo drop. Not sure what you call it when there's no air It's a Kethane Drill / Refinery / Transfer / Rover. First time landing a ground vehicle on another planet. Minmus is going to be my staging area to push out to the other planets I'd like to thank Jebediah for keeping his cool as always and delivering my machine like a boss.
-
Mine's probably singing "Wobble wobble wobble" non-stop. Then I turn it off.
-
Yeah, I'll take a Jebediah Plushie.
-
I will buy some stuff if they put up something I want. No offense to the artists and guys who make the stuff for the merchandise, but I found it all pretty weak The bumper sticker is kinda cool, but my truck has a clean look to it, so I don't put anything on it. As mentioned above, the old loading screen art as a poster or T-shirt I will definitely buy.

The Wiki says it's possibly Salt. An entire moon made of glorious salt. Although, mint would be much cooler. See what I did there?

I would suggest checking out some youtube videos etc. Scott Manley does a good series of videos, but there's lots of others as well. Edit: Someone's faster

Problem with my lifter.
Dortmunder replied to Dortmunder's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I think I got it sorted. Because I was also using asparagus staging on the 4 large tanks with only 2 feeding into the central tank, the central engine was unbalancing the burn around the outside engines. So now I just have the central engine disabled until I have staged off the small outside engines and it seems to be working alright. Now I just have to make sure it doesn't fall apart, which seems to be happening with the payload on top, it gets wobbly once in the higher stages. Thanks for the help all. -
Problem with my lifter.

These 3 tanks(mirrored all the way around) feed from right to left. The last one feeds into the large tank they are all attached to. 2 of those large tanks feed into the other 2 large tanks, which in turn feed into the main central tank. The identical tanks above the outside row feed into the ones below, as I didn't directly attach them to each other, since I attached them to the large tank using a decoupler. http://imageshack.us/a/img856/8283/screenshot7qd.png The decouplers are all set up properly, so they are dumping the tanks in proper order. The only problem is, 2 are burning out of fuel faster, which gets repeated each stage. So 4 sets of tanks fall off, 2 of them fall, 2 remain thrusting and fly off, sometimes hitting the main rocket assembly. http://imageshack.us/a/img842/1516/screenshot8wd.png Edit: I'm guessing it has something to do with the tanks above that feed directly straight down into the tanks below. Maybe I'll try attaching them directly rather than adding fuel lines to feed downward. -
Problem with my lifter.

Oh. I have a bunch installed. I'll remove the file and add something else to the lifter that doesn't have mods on it. I think all the lifter stuff is stock. Should work now. It's just attached to an ASAS and stock capsule. http://www./?9r3aehwc4cz126g -
Problem with my lifter.
Dortmunder replied to Dortmunder's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Sorry, I posted just before I was going to work Here's the file, I have the lifter in my payload pack and couldn't find that, so attached it to something and saved that: http://www./?9r3aehwc4cz126g Some of the struts and usually 1 or 2 fuel lines come un-attached when loading it, so those may need to be re-done. It's usually the fuel line(s) along the bottom of the outside tanks, and the X struts I have set up. I looked over it again and tried launching again before posting it. Still couldn't find the problem >< -
RCS Thruster Positioning Tips?
Dortmunder replied to Dortmunder's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thanks for the posts all. Neo, your link doesn't work -
I've made a bunch of lifters before, usually no problems with them after some tweaking. The current one I made I can't seem to fix. I have 12 engines attached to fuel tanks around the outside, which tank in to each other(asparagus). But one side seems to be not working properly. They are all mirrors of each other. So the first set of tanks fuel into the second, then the second into the third, the third into a larger set of tanks with a bigger engine. Problem is, when I decouple the first set of engines, 2 are always still burning fuel. I've looked over it multiple times and redone the fuel lines, but it just keeps doing the same thing. Is this a bug or what? Anyone else had this problem? I'll probably post some pictures tomorrow if no one knows what's up. It's getting really annoying

I've looked. The only place I have found to download it is where I already got it. Which is here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/13692-Mechanical-Mouse-Industries-Kethane-Payload-Packs-Released!!!

Docking seems to only be a problem for me if I have my thrusters poorly placed. Or because I've attached/picked up a piece of something and trying to dock it with another ship. So the thrusters aren't balanced. If my thrusters are configured properly I find docking a piece of cake, otherwise, it's a nightmare. I actually had to use my main engine to dock the other day. Finally got it lined up with minimal movement side to side and just powered right at the docking port, lol.
-
Oh. So it's basically useless to me now? Should I just delete the part out of my folders. Or is there a fix for this sort of thing? I'm not really good at any sort of scripting etc., but if I know what to change and where I can generally figure that stuff out.

RCS Thruster Positioning Tips?
Dortmunder replied to Dortmunder's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Great, thanks for the help all. Temstar , when you refer to ASAS do you just mean the default ASAS stuff you put on ships? Or do you mean the MechJeb thing? Because whenever I am having trouble docking and I do enable the SAS it pretty much continuously burns fuel, rocking the ship back and forth perpetually. -
RCS Thruster Positioning Tips?
Dortmunder replied to Dortmunder's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
So every piece of equipment or vehicle should have thrusters either in the center or evenly spaced on each end? -
I just had a hell of a time docking one of my pick-up/retrieval/transport vehicles. It's just a central piece with 3 legs coming off of it with engines on each leg. Docking ports on either side to pick up a piece of a station or piece of equipment etc. Apparently my thrusters were in a bad spot or something. I have no problem docking it by itself. But I picked up my probe and tried to dock at my space station. When in docking mode whenever I thrust in any direction it basically swung my nose around. Do I need to put thrusters on everything, so that if/when I happen to pick it up the game will even out the docking thrust? I ended up having to take a couple runs at my station using my main engines, then rotate the station to meet up with it. Took me like 30 minutes for what should have been pretty simple. So any tips on thruster placement?

This little guy.

Hi. I don't remember which mod this came with, one of the Kethane, Payload, or Satellite Packs from MMI surely. I'm probably some sort of retarded, but I can't seem to get this thing to work. Every time I attach it to something the engine icon in the bottom right is blanked out. I've tried adding different fuel types to the vehicle in case that was the problem. But I can't figure it out. I'm pretty sure I saw someone using it in a video. Anyone know what's up with it?
