[UNOFFICIAL/FANMADE] 0.21 Discussion thread
Dortmunder replied to blspblackdeath's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've been wondering if they have a plan to create their own engine, or upgrade to one that can use the power of more modern computer systems. Have they said anything about this, ever? -
I'm from Canada. Already do
-
I... broke the game in every way possible.

Divided by zero? -
Jeb almost started to look worried there near the end. Then was just like, awwwe yeah.
-
Yeah, I remember there was a problem with the star. But you'd think some life would have remained. I can't remember what they said the inner surface size was, but it was almost hard to grasp how large it was. Would be an amazing sight to see though.
-
Just docking ports really. I generally like to put some Xenon and an Ion engine on any of my sats to allow for any changes needed in the future.
-
Such a thing would bring everyones computer to a dead halt One of the best episodes of ST:TNG involved an abandoned Dyson's Sphere though. Seriously, wtf abandons one of those?
-
They look great, so I just ordered one too. Might wait to see if they add any other ones before ordering others
-
I also get some pretty low frame rates when at space stations/bases etc. Running Win 7 Ultimate 64 i7 920 OC to 3.66 Ghz 24 gigs Corsair Vengeance 2x Velociraptors in Raid 0 2x GTX 570 HD SuperClocked How do you tell if a program is using more than 1 CPU? I opened the task manager, and I'm looking at this. 3-4 of my cores spike when I launch KSP.
-
Jeb, of course! Dat smile.

There's a section for this isn't there, or something? Not talking about the spacecraft exchange thing. Looked around and didn't see what I'm looking for. Interested in finding someone to do something like with.I use a lot of mods though, but would be willing to download others that the other person may use as long as they can do the same. Not sure on any rules, but open to ideas Someone point me to the right sub forum if there is one, please.

Show off your Kethane Mining Designs!!
Dortmunder replied to Amphiprion's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
This is my Kethane Drill / Rover. Works good, just have to drive it around fairly slowly and save often -
I don't need a motive to play games, besides having fun.
-
You should think about tossing a light or two facing away from your docking ports. Lights everything up Pointing towards the ship you'll be docking with, or towards you from the ship you're docking with.
-
Download the Kethane mod if you need another goal. Set up a fuel refinery on the surface of Minmus or Mun, with a fuel station in orbit. It will need multiple tanks, with storage for each type of fuel. And a vehicle to land, fuel up, and haul fuel back to the station. Then use the station as a push off point for farther out exploration

I've been messing with this most of last night and some of today. Finally got it mostly working. The network around Kerbin seems failsafe, for now. My deep orbit satellites have 4 dishes each. The lower orbit ones carry 2. The only non functional ones at the moment are the ones around Minmus and Mun, because I didn't know what I was doing when I set them in orbit there. They have no dishes pointing home, so they can't be controlled to rectify. I'm sending out an unmanned mission that way with a Remote Command tomorrow to regain control and point a dish home. One of the satellites at Minmus sports a couple of the super large dishes with a 900 Gm range(I think), to support my future long range missions. Was quite a bit of work to set up, but also fun The network from the Tracking Center Low orbit sat design, and out at Minmus and Mun One of the non-functioning sats orbiting Mun Deep orbit satellite with 4 dishes Edit: I seem to have lost my satellite with the large dishes. I'll have to put another one out to Minmus tomorrow as well.

RemoteTech Satellite Network
Dortmunder replied to Dortmunder's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I guess I need antenna's on each one then, that's probably my problem. I set up a fairly nice network last night, which I thought was working because I put a sat in orbit then drove a remote controlled vehicle around. Must have just been getting my signal from KSC. So now a new question. How do I replace my satellites with another I created(basically just added an antenna to the current craft). It's sort of cheating, I know. But I spent a good amount of time setting up about 10 sats last night, and I don't really want to do it again right now I'm gonna try to figure it out myself in the files, but if anyone can give me a quick run down so I don't screw it up, that would be great -
Hey guys. I'm having some trouble getting this to work. Vehicles work near my space center, so the mod seems to be working. I put up a bunch of satellites with dishes around Kerbin, Mun, and Minmus with the intent of running some unmanned missions just to see if I could do it. Problem is, none of my satellites seem to be working. I'll fly a ship until it goes out of LoS of the space center, then I lose control. The satellites have battery power with solar panels, an engine, and 2 sat dishes activated(open) and a RemoteCommand module thing. But they don't seem to relay any signals. Anyone know what I am doing wrong
-
I throw them on satellites that I may want to change the orbit of. I hear they can be good for long interplanetary journeys as well. As they can burn for a really long time, thus increasing your speed over long distances.
-
Landed my first last night/this morning. Went very well. I was expecting to somehow screw it up.
-
There's already a post about this. But as I said there, I don't really like most of the stuff available. Things I really want are stuff with the loading screen art, and a Jebediah plushie.
-
1 male and 1 female Kerbal to start. Good luck finding the latter
-
Some Kethane mining/drilling flags would be nice
-
Mine seems to work ok. Though they are connected fuel tank to fuel tank. For instance, I have a Liquid/Oxi tank, then a Mono tank under that, then a Xenon tank under that. The converter is attached directly above the Liquid/Oxi tank. It will make them all in order. Once one tank is full, it starts converting and filling the next.

Well, the great thing about this game is how moddable it is. I see it being able to be played the way you want to play it. If you don't like something done to it you can change it, or find a mod that changes it how you like
