  1. After a long day of highly explosive launches: (Made this when I found out you can tweak light's RGB values)
  2. Not exactly a stupid mission but, I had to test both the regular and radial ant engines while on a escape trajectory from Kerbin. Simple enough. Launched straight up. Free 140ish science . Then i just pointed retro and burned until my orbit was inside Mohos. Went back to the space center, planning to come back when I was nice and close to the sun for MOAR SCIENCE!! I went to the tracking station. It said the craft was escaping the sun. Swiched to it, and BOOM! KRAKEN ATTACK! There was a contract that was test the giant SRB in a sub-orbital trajectory. Turns out a skipper couldn't lift it.... (I forgot about emptying it of the solid fuel first ). I also had to test landing gear in orbit. Guess C7 wants to build a orbital airport or something.
  3. I EVA'd after landing back on Kerbin to grab a surface sample. I forgot I had physics warp 4x on. He fell on the ground and exploded..... At least he died at home...
  4. Apollo Space Shuttle??? WTF? Is that the code name of the Apollo service module + lander or was it a secret government project I haven't heard about?
  5. Focus on the buried rover, not the random unburied one!!!!
  6. Caterpillar tracks, for "off-road" rovers and they're easier to place. Instead of placing 5 sets of wheels, just one sets of tracks, plus they look better on big vehicles. (I realize there's a mod, but I'm too lazy to get it... )
  7. "Hey whys the ground coming up so fast?! BOOOOOOOM!" Landing with ASL... "Lets test out this new spaceplane!" Jeb testing a SSTO "WEEEEEEEEE" Jeb on a SRB after the spaceplane incident. "I'll just respawn, right... RIGHT???" Bob breaking the fourth wall to reassure himself
  8. 135 hours on steam, probably about 15 more before steam. so 150 total. Not too nooby, not too pro...
  9. Why not a giant planet when viewed from afar looks like a giant Christmas tree ornament.
  10. Waste 50% of my time experimenting with tweakables, and seeing what happened. Maybe they'll let us do insane things, like fueling my mainsail with solid fuel or spraying oxidizer out of a RCS port.
  11. Bah! Who needs flimsy chairs. Have a unfortunate Kerbal hide behind the heat shield, and using his RCS pack to stay in place.
  12. I actually kinda like Poodles. They a lot shorter than the LV series rockets, so I can fit them under my landers or my space planes. (MY first SSTO used a Poodle as a orbital insertion stage.) Besides, it can BBQ your snacks, your silly LVs can do that! LVs are nice for launching stuff though.
  13. It took me about 15 Hours to learn how to reach orbit, and that was from watching Mechjeb do it a few times. Tip your rocket over at 10K, who knew?? I've logged 126 hours on steam, at least 10 more offline, and about 40ish before the steam version. So I've played for 190 hours, and the best I've gotten is s probe to Jool. No fancy mun bases and Eve return landers. I forgot when I got to the Mun though .
  14. (Long time no post here ) My latest save got him stuck on a space station.... The one before, he got stuck on one too. I'm to lazy to bring him back down.
  15. I see a giant cosmic pollen grain, it will fertilize a flower, which will then grow into the melon that it Jool. Look at the tall mountains with blue peaks, you can see two circles and a "mouth".
  16. I'm pretty sure there's a mission generator that generates a target, vehicle, and restriction for you out there. Look around in the forums or search "KSP mission generator" or something. Here's a few crazy ideas: "Land" on Jool with exploding, your vessel must then survive for 10 more seconds, and doesn't have to be manned Make a RCS lander for Gilly or Minimus, and then return to Kerbin. (Interplanetary ship does not have to be RCS powered) Build something with only probe sized parts Perform the Wernher von Braun Mission to Mars (Duna). Basically send a fleet to vessels to Duna. Land a winged ship on the North Pole, drive to the equator, and land the other ships there. Then, after 1 year, return to Kerbin (Will be VERY VERY hard) [h=4][/h]
  17. Yup I like using this when my sturts go missing, and I'm tool lazy to go back to the structural tab and grab new ones. I perfer using the large structural panels as a "x-ray machine" cause they have good amount of surface area and most of my rockets don't use them (So i don't confuse them with an actual part of the vessel).
  18. I was playing on my friend'ss copy of KSP. For some reason, we both thought if you went high enough you would achieve orbit. Also, I always used the Mk.1 cockpit instead of the command pod for some reason. Then I started using probe cores because they were lighter. Eventually I built a rocket with enough delta V to reach orbit, but instead i launched straight up. I ended up in solar orbit (luckily no Kerbal was stranded). I was like O M G. However I didn't figure out how to achieve Kerbin orbit until I watched Mechjeb do it .
  19. Hmmm. There probably won't be licensing problems. Why? read on! Some KSP stats (based on forum info) Total members: 80,000ish Active members: about 4000 Some Lego stats: Sets sold: MILLIONS! People with Lego sets: MILLIONS! Many more people have Lego sets than KSP. So if say a KSP themed Lego set ends up on a catalog or their website, lots of people will see it. If their interested, they'll but the set, and maybe eventually KSP itself! In other words free advertising! Oh yeah, that's a nice Lego set, good amount of details ;D. If I'm correct, Lego has a program called digital designer or something that lets you build custom things and buy them, but its REALLY expensive, a model like the Kerbal X would probably cost $60. PS the landing legs makee the model look..... weird.....
  20. Jool! ITS GREEN Jools nice cuase it has 5 moons, offering plenty of destinations, especially Laythe. Also, its big! Big as the Earth! Also the view from orbit is amazing, a big green watermelon, surrounded by a hazy green mist, with Laythe, Vall, and Tylo visible in the sky....
  21. The 48-77 is my one of my favorite engines in the game. AMAZING TWR, low profile, looks great, and I like the sound it makes . Weighs only 4 tons, but can deliver a 1/5 ton payload into LKO!
  22. I haven't posted in forever YAY! (School D:) Back on topic: Grand tour = Visiting every body in the Kerbal system(except the Sun and the Magic Boulder), including landing on some of the more interesting ones (Laythe, Duna, maybe Eve?). Visiting is defined as being in a orbit, or maybe a hyperbolic trajectory for more "insignificant" bodies, like Gilly. This should be done with a kerbal'd craft, so theres' actually a "tourist". Remember to return him home afterwards!
  23. I'll probably delete them if I have that many mods, but only the redundant ones, like fuel tanks and random structural parts. Definitely not things like probe cores and docking ports. I probably just grab a clean install for making stock ships. But my comp doesn't even have 4 gigs of RAM , so that'll never happen.
  24. Wow, I wish you were my teacher! Some of the people I know (including adults that were alive during the Apollo Program) don't even know what a gravity turn is. Most kids I know just think rockets go straight up and *poof* your in orbit. The only time I heard another person under 18 say ANYTHING related to orbital mechanics is some random person saying "Venus rotates retrograde". I'm pretty sure she didn't no wait retrograde means. My parents won't even touch KSP because its "a silly game" and my friend who once played stopped after a week, because it was "too hard". I can imagine if I come across a KSP course in high school or college: Teacher: OK class this a Kerbal Space Program, and its a spaceflight simulator *Explanation of game* Teacher: One of the most basic- Me: Give me that! *slaps together Mun rocket* *Lands on Mun* (A interplanetary might give the teacher a heart attack ) Teacher and class: OMG
  25. @Tw1 Even bigger plot twist. He's on Gilly. And when he jumped, the his RCS pack leaked a little. Now hes en route to LGO (Low Gilly Orbit)
