  1. I bet it was the Airtech Claw Rig, from 1992:
  2. I found this article on Rock-Paper-Shotgun about Valve's new Greenlight service. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/09/05/green-for-greenlight-valve-now-charging-100-fee/#more-123152 I'm curious to see what you all have to say, but I must ask: -READ the ENTIRE article! -PLEASE keep it civil! My personal stance on this change: It was a logical step for Valve, since their service was being overrun by those who would abuse it. I do think that the price is a little high at 100 USD; I would drop it down to 75 USD myself. However, the fee is going towards the Child's Play charity, and it's a one-time fee for the developer. Overall, I can't really think of any other way that Valve would be able to police the system without huge expenses for themselves. This way it discourages those who aren't really serious.
  3. I made a thread covering these quite a while ago: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/3383-Kerbonaut-Minecraft-Skins?highlight=minecraft+skin Feel free to use them!
  4. The LPE Power engines are modified; the cylinder intake and exhaust ports have been drilled out slightly. While it does increase performance dramatically, I wouldn't do that since I am a Lego "purist". You can get LPEs to work without doing that, but they have to be simple and small so as to allow the cylinders to work with minimal resistance. You won't be seeing any of those from me, since my two small pumps leak and the large hand pump doesn't really work well anymore.
  5. I built this for no real reason. It may get used in a project at some point. That's about all it does, really. It's almost soothing to watch
  6. I quit playing after I got stuck in the gap where I was past the beginner tanks and into the first paid-for tanks. That\'s where I wasn\'t making enough money via matches to cover the cost of repairs and ammo to my paid-for tanks but the matching system would put me in games where the starter tanks were dead from the start. To advance any farther, I would have had to dedicate more time to playing the game, which I can\'t do.
  7. I built a frame for my Flip Mino video camera out of parts from my Lego collection. To save time, the link to the original thread at eurobricks.com is http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72115 If you want the .lxf file for Lego Digital Designer to build it yourself, the Dropbox link is found at the bottom of the OP in that thread. Cheers!
  8. I\'ve never used it, but the guy who makes Freeman\'s Mind shares your sentiments I hear.
  9. I did ROTC for a year. We\'ve moved since then, and I really have no desire to take it again. I did learn how to iron clothes and polish shoes, so that\'s all right I guess.
  10. Gyroscopes are like magnets, IMO. Nobody knows how they effing work! ;P
  11. This sounds a lot like the Arduino. The Uno only costs an extra 10 USD more than the Pi, and I think there\' s a much larger group of manufacturers supporting it.
  12. I hear the Arduino software is a lot like Java, so I\'d guess you can take the experience you may or may not have from there and apply it to your Java stuffs.
  13. I, for one, enjoy both. As long as it doesn\'t bring my computer to a grinding halt, I enjoy both the massive monument to over-compensation slowly climbing into the sky and the testament to efficiency barely nudging into orbit.
  14. Hrm, I think I could do something like this. I\'d have to figure out how to apply a flat map of the globe to a sphere, and then add a flat plane in the background with the Hubble Deep Field images... sounds like a fun challenge!
  15. How\'d you do that? My guess is you found a cheap plastic snowglobe and took it apart.
  16. Port forwarding is a huge PITA, that\'s why people use Hamachi.
  17. Darn those white pieces! If only it was some other color, I may have been able to reverse-engineer the structure and create instructions
  18. Well, to create negative mass, we\'d have to increase the mass until it hit such a point that it 'rolls over' to a negative mass, much like computing. I\'ve no idea if that\'s actually possible.
  19. I\'d put a significant portion into R&D for efficient fusion energy, then spend more of that on miniaturizing the technology to something about the size of an arc reactor. I\'d have to name it something along the lines of a 'tesla cell' to avoid conflicts with Marvel... Then, spend even more money on advanced nanomachines for medical and other uses. I\'d sell off the rights to those and make more money.
  20. A tether system is some sort of long cable attached to a satellite that can be used to do various things in orbit depending on how the tether is constructed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_tether Since we don\'t have magnetic fields or solar wind in-game yet, he can only really try the formation flight and momentum exchange. EDIT: Post number 1000! Hurray!
  21. You\'ve spelt it wrong; it\'s 'throatwarbler mangrove'.
  22. You don\'t have to zoom in at all; you just need the right angle to actually be able to right-click on the part in question
  23. Play around with a tether system for adjusting your orbit instead of RCS and the engine(s).
