  1. I started a new game and landed on the Mun, in honor of the 45th anniversary of the Moon landing today. Those guys made it look so easy...
  2. To Neil, Buzz and Michael. You made this look so easy 45 years ago. Thanks for inspiring all of us. Jeb.
  3. Here at the third turn of Munar motor speedway...
  4. Been experimenting with designs for a planetary mission
  5. So I wanted to get Jeb off of my space station (as you do) and I wanted to put another crew up there but I didn't feel like designing a crew shuttle. So I just go "what the hezmana" and shove a bunch of Kerbals onto my Mun rocket and dock it with the station... So yeah, the most over-engineered crew shuttle in existence. I'm sure the accounting office will have fun explaining that. Then I decided. You know, it would be a shame to just jettison this perfectly good lander stage. I wonder if it can land on Kerbin? You can't tell but the command module is still sitting on top of that lander. There's almost no fuel left, but it landed. I guess it will work on Duna.
  6. Another day, another space station redesign. And if I never have to dock an orange tank again I'll be a happy Kerbanaut.
  7. Spent way too much time redesigning my space station. Again. Never got it launched. (Well, not in one piece anyway.) I did put up a mapsat, so that's something.
  8. I'm assuming you mean my first landing that didn't involve lithobraking? I had @stnylan's problem. Somehow I managed to stay upright, but it was pretty funny looking.
  9. I know, but seeing the pairs of boosters jettisoning made me think of it.
  10. New trailer for Europa Report. Look! Asparagus staging! http://io9.com/see-for-yourself-how-europa-report-brings-life-back-to-513452201
  11. They're controlling one of the Kerbals. When you EVA a Kerbal the mission timer starts at the point the Kerbal leaves the craft.
  12. I accidentally jettisoned my main engine instead of throttling it back up when trying for a Munar orbit. Tried to make it with my return stage and wound up in this orbit with no fuel. Burned RCS thrusters for several minutes until my periapsis dropped into Kerbin's atmosphere and got the crew back home.
  13. Decided to land in the mountains on Minimus instead of the plains like usual. Jeb found a canal. Or maybe the equator. (Or maybe just a graphical glitch...)
  14. Jeb and Bill study what they suspect is a very thin canal on Minimus. Hey! Who put the Mun in the path of our return orbit!
  15. I'm working on the assumption that Kerbals are plants. After alll, they're green and seem to be able to survive indefinitely on just sunlight.
  16. I spent way to much time assembling this thing, especially since I was running a Munar mission at the same time.
  17. Saw this partial eclipse while waiting to dock with my return stage
  18. Since I didn't give a full flight cycle before... Munar rocket on pad Ascent Heading for the Mun Leaving Kerbin behind Munar orbit Separating return stage to prepare for descent Dropping the last stage Final descent On the Mun! Partial eclipse on return to orbit Docking with return craft Going home Preparing for re-entry Landing just short of KSC The triumphant Kerbonauts
  19. My Apollo-style mission (here orbiting Minimus, not the Mun, but the same design landed there too). This is after returning from the surface.
