Hmm, I'll have to give this a shot.. it has potential to make the texture compression mod mostly obsolete.
-
Yes the default tech tree is ridiculous. This is why I use mods... my current career mode started me out with just the mk1 cockpit, basic batteries and rover wheels.. had to collect your first science without leaving the ground. After teching up, I got Firespitter biplane parts and flew around to the biomes collecting science in the lower atmosphere. Then got to better propeller engines, then to basic jets. The first rockets don't show up until around the time you get jets, and even then all you get are the .625 meter fuel tanks and engine. That said, it isn't for everyone, and I know that plenty of folks would leave KSP if they couldn't get to space on their first mission.

Hmm, this could be a godsend if properly developed. Is it possible to make it UNload a texture from RAM once it is no longer in editor or flight mode?

A couple more of mine F-101 SR-71 ...and the thread is dead again... I may start making stock only builds..seems they are the only thing that gets any kudos around here anymore -

Where did you get that rotary prop engine? -

Don't see anything... Are you trying to direct link from your PC? It doesn't work like that, you have to host the picture on a site first. -

Naten Technologies v0.5.0 and Glider Pre-Alpha v0.1

I love these. The stock engines, and even the B9 engines were too big for some designs. I love the late 40s/early 50s pod turbojets, these will go great on my B-36 and B-47. A bit strong, but can be easily de-rated in the SPH. -

Heh, no coincidence. It was through studying pics of your mods that gave me the idea of making whole fuselage sections with P-Wings. The surprising part is how stable they work in flight. -
Who says you need Kerbin? There are already add on planets, I'm sure a new KSC could be made.. maybe a KSC in the style of Coruscant, and replace all the planets with Star Wars ones..the possibilities are endless given enough time, coding ability, and imagination. Back in .20, my stock parts folder was down to something like 15 parts, so yeah its definitely doable.

Don't let the thread die! Historic planes on review Historic planes with F-51 Historic bomber with B-36 at 40 Years of Aviation Event held on the late Jeb Kerman's birthday. The show was capped off with a fly-by of the newest jet fighter, the F-84 Thunderjet I intended to try a formation flying display, but Persistent Trails doesn't jet along with my maverick aircraft design methods (P-Wing fuselages), as you can see here. http://postimg.org/image/8ew32fg47/ -
You mean like this? I can't remember which mod it is/was, (possibly NovaPunch) that had a "smoke generator" part. I attached them radially to a fuel tank attached to launch clamps, and set them to go off as stage 0.

Nothing I could do about the cockpit, the Peacemaker had a VERY unique glass nose that is pretty much impossible to replicate save for custom modeling one, which I don't have the first clue about doing. -

Yeah, it has nose guns too. Sadly, I could only fit 4 on the nose without getting really ugly clipping issues, so I had to divert from realism a bit. -

P-80 Shooting Star Designed for FAR, and deliberately made to not be overpowered. It is the first practical jet in my Kerbal career mod timeline. I still haven't even orbited Kerbin, instead focusing on the origins of the Kerbal Space Program. -
[Showcase] Replica Craft thread!

It uses several HooliganLabs "Octo" gasbags inside the main hull. It also has several full and empty fuel tanks places throughout so that I can pump fuel to the front or back as needed for ballast. It's pretty much a real Zeppelin, top speed of about 85 mph, and can only reach around 1000 meters. I had a better looking one, but it melted down my PC, so I scaled back the number of P-Wings. As for the Star Destroyer, you pretty much win the internet with that. Did you use the welding mod to lower your part count? That thing looks like it'd get around 10 FPS. -

My replicas P-51 Mustang Graf Zeppelin Both are designed for FAR, and both fly like a dream. I have others, but postimage.org isn't giving me direct link codes anymore for some reason... -
Well aren't you just Mr Sunshine? Would you mind addressing Frizzank with a bit more respect? Otherwise, spend the "hours" (more like 15 minutes) to isolate the parts you want.
-
With the Shuttle and Apollo done by other mods, a proper Skylab is just about the only thing that hasn't been covered now
-
Finally, proper launch towers! No more spending 2 hours building a tower to launch a 20 minute built rocket As if this mod weren't already a must have

How about making P-wings with fuel capacity?
