Females kerbals should be in this game because women are 50% of our population here on Earth. Acknowledging the existence of females should not even to open for debate, they should have been in the game from the beginning. The fact that was not, just shows that Squad is really an indie company with 0 experience in making games. The good think is that as all companies that do something, they will mature, realize their mistake and fix it at some point. Have to have faith on people, I have on Squad.

KinderStation ( 9yr old daughter's science project)
suzin.felipe replied to Northlandsplasher's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
This is awesome mate. God luck for you and your daughter in this join project. Just remember to keep it fun, we adults tend to suck fun out of things for kids if we are not careful. -
Good post. Female Kerbals are necessary and ignoring 50% of the population is just bad in any way you can think of.
-
That is why I ask in my posts to these kind of tread to be locked. So comments like these don't make we all look bad.
-
lajoswinkler, You are trying to hide a sexist position behind SiFi explanations, that is bad, and you should feel bad. KSP is a game made by humans and marketed to humans. I look at kerbals and I see men. They look like men, and are named like men. No amount of SiFi BS will change this simple fact. Why create a wall of bad explanations to justify that instead of just wait for the devs to get to make female models?
-
This post is a massive win.

One more of these treads? Can the mods block this now so we don't have to go through all the sexist stuff that will inevitably spill in this tread? Game is in Alpha, female kerbals will come. Devs, can we have them in the next update so all these treads can go rest in peace in the bottom of the forum? Thank you,
-
Your arrival at Duna didn't disappoint. :-) Are you considering a land base in there? I'm curious to see your designs for that. I don't know if you agree with me that when it comes to bases, stock and mods parts are sorely lacking at this moment. I'm using H.O.M.E. parts for that and although they look really cool, you can't get much variety from them. Anyway, awesome tread, keep on the good work.

I apologize, I'd probably sounded bitter and judgmental. I'm not offended by your post, it's a valid poll after all, but by your very wording in your fist post you know in what these treads usually end up. By all means you can have your tread, after all it is what keeps a forum alive. To answer some of your questions: Yes there are women in this forum, some of them make great youtube videos as well.
-
If you search this forum you'll find out that its dwellers are incapable of discussing gender without filling pages and pages of sexist comments. Why start one more tread that will need heavy moderation? Also, your very first post already give the tone of what's to come...

Jool: The Probe Invasion (BIG IMAGES AHOY)
suzin.felipe replied to FlandersNed's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I'm a noob when it comes to Jool and its moons, but what I can say is: If you moving all this gear there, add something for Tylo as well. Always go to the limits, and only play safe when there is a manned expedition. I like your most of you designs, but being and old man i like more "slick" looks, all those RCS tanks and batteries on the sides makes me cringe a bit. They all look very functional tho. If I may suggest something, there is a mode of procedural fairings, which apart from looking cool, you can use their bases to hide all these bits and have a more "real" looking rockets. Looking forward for more posts on your mission. -
1 is not present in the game from stock, but there is a mode that can do that for you and more: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/24594-0-21-Telemachus-%E2%80%93-Telemetry-and-Flight-Control-in-the-Web-Browser 2 not present as well, no way to replay and I don;t know of any mods that could do it. 3 I don't know what you mean. Do you mean like a museum where you can go see your rockets in display? I hope that helps.

When I think or Kerbals, I mostly use the same adjectives that I would use for our space programs here on Earth. It's not like NASA hasn't build their share of silly dangerous machines: Or more tragic tests: Not to mention using nuclear fuel on things prone to explosions like NERVAS, or relativistic spaceships using nuclear bombs as engine. Give humans the budget and they will send this crazy things into space, and when they explode they will say "ups" and do it again, no matter how many lives are lost in the process. So I define Kerbals as being humans with no budget limitations.

My first interplanetary mission, heading to Jool
suzin.felipe replied to UH60guy's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Had a similar problem with a Kerbal stepping down of a rover. Turn RCS on and try to roll him carefully away from the stair. HE should stand up for himself after you do that. Edit: Nice designs by the way. -
That is the most careful planned and imaginative mission that I've seen so far around here. I would honestly love to see someone top that. So if you have a more impressive mission, please link in the tread, or just sit there complaining about mods and MJ.

Can anybody help a newbie get started?
suzin.felipe replied to Bassna's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I second stupid_chris, go for a simpler rocket till you get the hang of what is going on. That rocket is far too complex for a beginner. . Obligatory Scott Manley tutorial video. All newb questions tread have to have one linked by the informal rules of the forum. -
Do we have Geiger meters in game? If we do, we can prove Malletface proposition right and work on a theory to explain were all that Cesium came from.

My theory is that Minmus was a ice comet from a still undiscovered asteroid belt beyond the orbit of Jool. In the early days of the Kerbin system that comet was catapulted into the inner system by a undiscovered gas giant and entered a resonant orbit with Kerbin and Mun. That orbit slowed down the comet till he was captured by Kerbin. During the slow down period, all the ice in it's surface evaporated leaving behind a coat layer of Chlorite and salt, hence the greenish color and granulated aspect. That would also explain the irregular shape, the lake like formation, and the lack of asteroid bombardment scars as the Mun has. I felt tempted by Brotoro's theory as life is always exciting to find, but I still think Minmus is a produce of more mechanical processes.

How to make this rover indestructible.
suzin.felipe replied to Motokid600's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
25 m/s are, if I'm correct, 90 km/h. As far as I know nothing will survive intact a impact at this speed. Nor in real life, nor in KSP. You could use some airbags from a mod http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/cp-airbag-system/, and deploy them if you are about to crash. Hope that helps. -
Nice pictures. Love the Munnar probe design. I will shamelessly copy that for my Eve mission.

[UNOFFICIAL/FANMADE] 0.21 Discussion thread
suzin.felipe replied to blspblackdeath's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm a bit scared with the level of reading comprehension these days. Not trolling, but what is not clear in that sentence that they are talking about patch 0.21?
