  1. Like O-DOC said, drag at front is bad. I use to make small plane when I was rookie in KSP (and I still am ofc !) and put lot of radial intake. or radial intake put a lot of drag. ASYMETRICAL drag in my case... which weaken my pitch autority.......which lead to funky backflips in high altitude

  3. I'm actually working on a modular wing/ folding wing concept in order to put little exploration shuttle inside my big carrier spacecraft. Why does everybody out race me at this? ^^ Nice work btw, but how do you manage the wing flex from the IR part? 'Cause it really bother me to have my wing that flexible...
  4. hum. no jet engine? I saw the SSTO that O-Doc designed, and that schnitzel could just bring up 50% payload fraction to LKO... hehehe. Also, ISP isn't well calculated. IRL, the amount of fuel consumed is the same throughout the climb, only the power change and goes up. It the exact contrary in ksp, I guess to ease rocketing/aerojeting/crashing. =D the twisted design is completely wicked/Kerbalian. Goob job man.

  7. First One is saiks. Second first cockpit is my preference. saiksee too. But the last one. I swear. If you don't let us download the craft file I'll zgoizbgoz^z^^cozdeogzbv^zb^gh. Please? :'( the plane is SO from the X games.
  8. I don't wanna set another "mod vs stock" debate, but if the gear was the only problem, you can really try another gear set (TTTmodwheel / B9 with correctives) than super-tiny® stock one's, especially for big lifter like this one. Or maybe, ugly truss to offset your gear a little?
  9. As far as I know, KSP does not handle Multi-core right now. Also, KSP is a 32-Bit (Please correct me if I'm wrong) software and does not use more ram than your 32bit system will allow. No big deal there. But 9800GT is an old-badass (use to get 2 of them in SLI) Graphic card. I guess what you wanna change is the GPU (a better graphics card) and the RAM(CAS9 for good speed), and go to a "64bit-ish" OS to get the maximum benefit of your RAM. Also, in future, look up for a better CPU (and of course the MotherBoard that go with it) because your CPU will become the bottleneck of your computer performance. However don't go for a i7 multi-core, for the obvious reason stated earlier. A simple fast i3 "k-ish" (for O/C purpose and still dual core for when KSP will be upgraded) should REALLY do the trick.
  10. Hahahaha, yeah. You apparently tweaked the rear wheel in order to get them perfectly align... but too far behind CoM as I can see. You really should try on a simpler but long test plane how lever affect the take off with KSP stock physic. I usually do rear gear right behind CoM, like in the CoL spot, and add a little tilt wheel (which do not touche the ground at all) in order to protect my tail in case of rough take off.
  11. I'm trying to make a wing folding aircraft, but even without control surface on the folding wings, the hinge got a HUGE flex. Can I modify the .cfg file to make it stronger? What do I need to tweak? Anyone ever try that? In advance, and for this great mod, thx. edit:typo

Apart from what the others said (symetry check and everything), a good way to get rid of flatspin flame-out induced, is to understand that the FIRST jet engine to flame-out is the LAST one you set. You have to make plane with odd numbers of jet engine. And by doing this, you'll have an even better warning without a flat spin
  13. With rocket engine it's absolutely perfect. And yes, almost every shuttle design work now. Haha SUCH-CONTROL-VERY-SHUTTLE-WOW. I was looking to put myself into physics books again to make such a mod. And I'm SO GLAD you cut ground under my feet However I'm still getting trouble with jet Engine, I guess smoothing the acceleration and deceleration rate can be tricky. (or maybe my design is just poor and jebeedized). Keep up the good work man, congratz.
  14. Asparagus need a tug to do the orbital maneuver. Or the tug engine isn't participating in the launch! I've tried back in the day to do such thing (a push-push thingy with only engine on top to "pull" the payload) but i never managed to avoid the rocket to tear into two parts. Goodjob here sir!
  15. I'm super bad at drawing. i mean, really REALLY bad. But I have TONS of flying papers of wasted/useless design. I ALWAYS do sketches of my next project. Even if the project does not look like the sketches at all ^^
  16. Haha, I got a similar design (4 symetry FTW) and got stuck on Duna (no nerva at the time). I had to use the debug menu to go back on Kerbin... =/ Without nerva your best shot is the LV-909 or the 'poodle' instead of 4 LV-30 to reduce fuel consumption .
