  1. @Azimech Was just asking in a general way. But heh, modifying the config to make generator use only LF, would be enough for the contest. @DrunkenKerbalnaut Also, I find out that autostrut take place when you load up a craft. No autostrut showing on editor, And when load the craft, ... BOOM. They appear. What exactly is called in the load sequence? Some .CFG? Did not find any that I can modify directly in order to prevent this behavior. 'cause modifying the config is apprently not enough.. :'( (ForceHeaviest to Off) If you happen to have an idea on how to do so... I'll buy.
  2. Did my own try at changing the ship files directly. I got rid of the "autostrutMode = ForceHeaviest" on the wheels... and saw that wheels are STILL autostruted. I'll have another go tonight. Btw, Is there a mod that simulate ICE? beside the old ICE mod that is not updated anymore?
  3. In fact, its linked with the most massiv and harden part (which happened to be my root part). Maybe we can trick the system? As always? ^^
  4. Did some research on the forum, and apparently you could modify the autostruting in the .CFG in 1.1.3 (so it's not "stock"). I do not know if that trick still work in 1.2.2 since I did not try it yet. I personaly used decoupler stacking for my early career save to dampen the early side Wheel (do not remember the name). Spider engine is another trick. You could litterally build spring ! Remember @Vagani's car? However since wheel autostrut to the root part, it cannot be flexible.
  5. currently struggling with dampening with my iterations. I just noticed that wheels are autostruted to the root part. I guess if I turn that off, my design will be "modded", right? I feel like, even with the M1, the spring length are too short.
  6. This^ Can you imagine the race challenge with such a mod? We are NOT pressuring you azimech, in any ways. Just to let you know people CARE about your work, especially when it look 3000% awesome. /Nick
  7. Did you try the values I gave for the gear? Just lower the spring mate ! you want something very spongy, not jumpy. Try it with extreme for testing purposes. Like 0.1 spring, 1.5 dampener. especially for those medium gear. Default spring (1.0) are stronger than smal landing gear, as azimech stated earlier. No spring, no jump. Worst case scenario, you'll destroy the landing gear on landing. Also, try to land just next to the landing strip, in the flat grass. I had issue with the runway myself.
  8. In KSP, for a plane like yours (light), I would usually reduce the spring default value, and increase the dampen default value. (0.75, 1.25) Tell us how it goes with those change.
  9. IIRC, When you are coupled with docking port, and you decouple, you have to go outside of a certain radius for the magnetizing system to reset. The purpose of this behavior is obvious. You can't decouple off your space station easily without.
  10. I can't wait for the next round to start. I've seen some awesome design. Can we have a hint about those three new rules? Also, what if I decide to use a particular engine for the look of it (the radial double wasp style one, 37kn) but need to use less point? Will you tolerate my design I lower the thrust output with the in game slider? Because a TigerKat is no longer a Kat with a merlin style engine
  11. Currently working on a VTOL with IR, OSPREY-fashioned plane. I will work on an SSTO version. I got inspired by one of the last thread, "skyhopper". This plane currently behave very very well in Vertical, and in horizontal as well, It got little problem while transitioning without SAS, but ASAS torque handle it.
  12. Great update. As many of you stated it, I feel like a total noob, EVEN playing with far for like 6 month. The heat system is totally new to me. This v1.0 feel so complete and great. Good job SQUAD ! (Can't wait to see people's spaceplanes !)
  13. It's from the OPT mod if you are interested. You can get it on KerbalStuff®, I suppose.
  14. Didn't try it myself, to be honest. And in the picture you provide you seem to be docked (did not see the problem at first look) this seems really weird.
  15. Errh... could it be the fact that docking port on those size are pretty special? I mean, there are 3 size, but a size 3 (2x2 configuration) could not link to 4 size 1 (2x2 configuration also) , even if they are perfectly align... 3[][] size 3 docking port [][] != 1[]1[] 1[]1[] != 2[][] 2[][] I hope this will help you solve your problem.
  16. I'm maybe wrong, but did the Sabre M have rotation vectoring in R4? Anyways, HX/ IVA/ Landing gear sound/ etc/ are so PRO guys. It's clearly amazing. Can't wait to see people's fortress. =D
  17. If you put RCS perfectlylike with RCS build aid ( as suggested ), even with sas on, you wont be consuming RCS for rotation if you didn't push the rotation button. I mean that if the translation if perfectly centered they won't be any "side-effect/ noise" rotation to add. --> RCS Build Aid. this will be a life changing for ya
  18. Yes, it does. Very useful. It can add radial attachement to part which does not have such thing.
  19. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24677-%280-23%29-Wayland-Corp-Development-and-released-download-Thread-%28new-parts%29?highlight=weyland if that can help. =)
  20. Yeah, but isn't it a way to do it with only one button? nobody ever heard of a mod for that?
  21. Is there a way to disable control surface while I fly? I'm making F14 like swept wing airplane, and i want to disable the outer ctrl surface. How do YOU achieve that? Mod? tricks? Any help? in advance, thx a lot.
  22. I find that your challenge is TOO global and not enough precise. I am trying to make rules myself to allow creativity AND limits.
  23. You just open the way to multiple ground challenge in a SPACE ORIENTED game. I can see that the Formula will certainly take good use of a mod like that. InfiniteDice, brilliant as always.
  24. I usually do that: 2 row of RCS (linear) one perfectly centered on the CoM, the second row will be offset. Then I configure an action button to "toggle" off the second row of RCS. That way, even with SAS, you won't consume monoprop (depending of your precision when placing the first row on the CoM) cause you can disable the rotation RCS. When you need a boost for rot, just toggle on the rotation rcs.
