  1. Looks like a great contest. I\'ll be giving it a shot when the shop is fixed. @ Tim_Barrett. Nice docking
  2. 1 - 23 hour: Sleep 24 hour: Panic Actually it would be more like 1 - 23 hour: Panic 24 hour: Stick head in sand hoping it will act as a filter.
  3. Reusable Kerbals and Spy Space station. Though the rocket to take it up is fairly large.
  4. Yes landed on the mun. First time I have landed (upright) but I lost 2 engines and couldn\'t make it back. THE CHALLANGE: Passed BONUS POINTS: Get into an orbit (1) Go above 3,000 KM (1) Go above 6,000 KM (2) Get to the mun (2) Go above 12,000 KM (3) Land on the mun (3) = 12 points First image landing on the mun. Second is the rocket and the third is shows how it is meant to land if I got back to kerbin. Just to let you know those long tanks are just double the default ones in every way. The four parachutes could be used on planets with thin atmospheres or planets with atmospheres as dense as kerbins but have stronger gravity.
  5. This tank is cool but I just had to modify the texture and fuel capacity (capacity was only 400 when the stock is 500 this is twice as tall as the stock so I changed it to 1000).
  6. Tried landing but crashed. Sent a rescue mission. Also crashed. Should of let the first crew refit the engine to the craft. I\'ll post again when I complete a successful mission to the moon.
  7. I\'ve gotten to just under 30000. The way I did it was to fire up, turn and make orbit. Then just after Apoapsis carfully increase orbit speed but lower Periapsis, the aim is to have a excape trajectory going through a low altitude (You won\'t have an excape trajectory after the pass if you get the altitude just right). I don\'t have pictures but I could do it again.
  8. I think chutes can open if you open them just before stage separation. ie. Have the chutes just before the decouplers. | A stage | |-Radical Decouplers-| |-chutes- |
  9. I thought that they would just use a very long piece of string attached to two plastic cups but maybe there more intelligent than that... Hmm, intelligence and kerbal doesn\'t seem to go together. Nice control center Epsilon even if it is a little to advanced.
  10. Lets see. Oldest which I still have. 2004 Custom Built $1500 Pentium 4 (Somewhere between 2 - 2.4GHz) RAM 512Mb (Upgraded to 1Gb) HD 80Gb Graphics 128Mb Network Card 64Mb Windows XP (Also runs Ubuntu 10) This computers fan stopped working and the parts fried but still works just. BIOS became faulty. Fixed by reset, still very slow at loading hardware. RAM has several thousand errors. I would suspect only 800Mb is useable.
  11. No. Flaring the aircraft with the speed braker will cut out as much horizontal velocity as possible while reducing further decent (For a short time). The aim is to jump when the energy of the craft is at minimum and jumping into a tree (at about the same altitude as the plane) where the branches are thin but plentiful. The maximum instantaneous forces exerted on the body will be significatly lower as the forces are exerted over a longer period of time.
  12. The only way I would see jumping to be beneficial is if you were able to flare the airplane at a low altitude to cut horizontal velocity and virtical velocity and jump into a tree. The flare may involve the use of the speed braker.
  13. If you really need to, build a stand out of parts for the rocket to sit on. I have done it. The middle engine was too low and all the weight was on it. So I attached decouplers and fuel tanks to the bottom of the others. And used boosters to get a safe distance away to fire my liquid engines. And when I mean safe, I mean the moment I can blow up the detached fuel tanks without blowing up my rocket.
  14. I went out to the distance the moon would be and it had a nice backdrop.
  15. My rocket. Has reached the Sun and achieved a stable orbit of 53 meter difference. First stage is 18 liquid fuel engines. Followed by 12 boosters + 1 liquid engine. When the boosters run out the 4 boosters up the top are activated. Then the thrust from the liquid engine is enough to over come the weight. Another liquid engine is activated once the low orbit engine fuel has been used up.
  16. My best is 53 meters. AP; 384,500 PE; 384,447 0.0001378
  17. Nice rocket. My biggest rocket has 42 fuel tanks for it\'s first stage and leaves heaps of space junk.
  18. I have a problem like this. I press crtl + z (undo) and the struct will be connected. I think when I connect the struct the game thinks I\'m trying to move the piece I\'m connecting it to.
  19. I think the easiest way to return is to detach in low orbit and fire the boosters once clear. Now I just need to get enough boosters up to high altitude don't need many though.

    Hi

I found out about this game a few weeks ago. This game is really good. Going over these forums the past few days I have managed to get into a stable orbit (300 meters altitude difference). I'm looking forward to future versions. I'll attach a map of an orbit I'm currently in.
