I've some spare minutes, so.. ENTRY 2-TWO BURNS FOR THE MUN Here we go! Now a trasfer-burn is what we need to go inside the Mun orbit, something around 8-850 m/s of Delta V Well done! See you later home sweet home! (note: it's kinda a perfect gravity assist, don't you think?) Ok! It's time to show the payload and to free it from his areodinamic container; as usal Jebediah is the only one that think that this dangerous manouvre is quite fun... Errr...she's not so sexy, but I hope it work enought to bring my crew back to home. After the CSM, it's time to free also the landing module. Althougt, before we need to practise a little with docking... Bill has some doubts about the lander that he will pilot, evaluating her by a look throught the small window...Come on, Bill! Where is your courage? Away from the third stage Ok crew! are you ready for the braking burn? Mun Eternal Beauty Well done! It's exactly what Iwas looking for Stay tuned for news and have a good day!

Is there a "Perfect Rocket"?
thescientist replied to JiWint's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Nothing is perfect-it's just the better that someone can do! I think it doesn't exist and that the real challenge is to make one that is the most similar possible! -
Hi everyone. I want to narrate a story. If you want to read it, sit down and have fun! - Thescientist ENTRY 1-GO FOR ORBIT Let's start! That's the rocket, the MunLight I: Ready for liftoff! Now I need something to listen. something like... Booooorn in the USA Booooorn in the USA... I'm ready. Jeb, Bob, Bill, are you ready? Yes? Ok! Countdown...10...9...8...7... 6...5...ignition sequence started...3...2...1...LIFTOFF! Booster exausted. Jettison them, Mechjeb! quiet ascend... Suddendly AAAAAAAAAARGH:0.0:! I lost the main engine due to a stuctural failure! What I can do? Abort? What... STOP. Think. Free gimbal, first. Second, change the ascent path. Then... tranfer fuel? No, it's too much dangerous. I can only hope that the second stage is able to solve this problem... Ok, second stage... Annnnnnnd.....YES [looooooooooong breath]! The well-designed second stage solved the problem of the ugly first one, and still with a lot of fuel (around 1/5). I'm going to remember that during the MunLight II project. I need a better first stage, or my kerbonauts will never see agein their sweet home. Finally, the orbit and the end of the second stage. Thank you so much, you saved the whole mission! I'll never teminate your debris! Then? Wait, reader. Stay tuned for the next entry and have a good day! P.s. I forgot to say two things: first, write everything you think about the rocket, the mission and all the suggestion that you belive that may be useful (yeah, I mean suggestions); second, I'm not the best writer, so let me know what mistakes I've done...I hope to learn something!

"We are not losing those kerbals!"
thescientist replied to Jm419's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Very good challenge! I always thought that were impossible to recover the three famous astronaut from this scenario! (yeah, with DRE the whole ship blow up during the reentry) -
How does a spacecraft know it's in orbit?
thescientist replied to dharak1's topic in Science & Spaceflight
remember that an object in orbit IS IN FREEFALL, but his tangential speed generate a virtual force (centrifugal force) that keep it on his trajectory -
Killing your Kerbals: does it make you feel bad?
thescientist replied to Boris_T_Roach's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I seem like a kraken attack but the unusual thing is that he's still alive. I think that recover the Brave kerbonaut is an interesting challenge -
Killing your Kerbals: does it make you feel bad?
thescientist replied to Boris_T_Roach's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I love to think that a simulator is a sort of "alternative real life", so I fell so sad if a pilot or an astronaut die during a flight, because I imagine his virtual life as a real one. Said that, I usually follow the "safety first" rule. Since .20 I started to add escape sequence, to build escape pod,... Now I can say that is quite an interesting challenge make a safe rocket and I like it a lot. So, HAVE FUN! Are you sad if they lose their virtual byte? Be happy when your rocket is safe! Remember that even NASA has a bad record, but as that big boss of the space flight learn from your mistakes and go where nobody has been before! Post scriptum: sorry for the horrible American and good flight! -
Benvenuto Valkar!

Spaceplane SSTO Troubleshooting Guide
thescientist replied to Dragon1260's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
wow! it's your First Post? it's a fantastic one -

Well, does modular fuel system work properly? -
Alleluia!

Well, no one that is reading that post has an answer for the first question? -
Getting an upgrade!
thescientist replied to thescientist's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thanks for the mod, it looks so complete. I tried to use the autopilot of Mechjeb and I discovered that the Human mind is quite better in a lot of things! I'll also check the CoL and the CoM position, but I think they are in the right place, because I've downloaded the craft files (my planes are quite horrible ) -
Well, it's time for me to do something harder than before, so I have some questions 1. How can I land at the KSC runway with my plane? 2. I often lose control of my SSTO and the ASAS doesn't help me (as usual ). What I MUST do to evitate that? (note: it usually happens if I activate ASAS, controlling it manually this situation is quite more manageable) 3. It's time to get another planet! Please, can someone say to me some tips for the rocket? It's better to download mechjeb? Finally, there is a good launch windows calendar? 4. spatial shooting gallery...can someone write down some tips to hit the target (an equatorial orbit on one other planet) using less fuel possible? Thanks for the answers!
