  1. If I have to vote, then I am voting for the Proton. I know. m1sz set the precedent. Besides, I like the other SSTOs, but really though, I think they could all use a bit of shrinking of their footprint for my taste. That's why I like the Proton and other convergent designs like it so much. You really should download and fly the Proton III sometime.
  2. Levelord, SSI has renamed your larger amphibious VTOL SSTO to the Hyperion. Feel free to copy the name. I love the Marin.
  3. SSI Minmus Base ...he's smiling because after 25 tries, he finally got the flag to mount in the right direction.
  4. Benefits: Fast climb to cruising altitude (RAPIER with Turbojet), push/airhog to orbit (Turbojet and RAPIER flameout control), and a space engine (Nuke) that can take you very very far and back. See my Proton III video for a demonstration on how to use a TURAN stack.
  5. As promised, the first of several: The following engine design pioneered by Shuttlecraft Systems Inc. just a few days after the RAPIER became available, and is in use in our highly successfull Proton III Type-1A Shuttlecraft, a demonstration of which is seen in the Proton III video (see in my sig for the thread link): A Turbojet clipped into a RAPIER, stacked with a Nuke. This engine achieves the best of all worlds. A little heavy, but the the pros outweigh the cons. Test it out sometime. Notice the fuel lines clipped inside to the nuke. This is possible by first setting your line to start on the tank, then moving to view the nuke inside and setting the final end of the fuel line on the nuke (it should highlight). This design also stacks a rocket fuel tank with an airplane fuel tank, and lines are run from the rocket fuel tank to the airplane fuel tank so flow proceeds out the back. Also because the RAPIER and Turbojet share the same area, you have to run a line to the Turbojet. Download it here to study: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nh7b3c86edl5u3q/SSI%20TURAN%20Mark%201%20%28Engine%29.craft To build, start with the fuel tank, then stack on the RAPIER, then F12 Part Clip the Turbojet onto the RAPIER, then F12 Part Clip the Nuke inside the fuel tank. All nozzles should be visible at the end for it to work.
  6. Captain Sierra, please feel free to post on your OP the following engine design pioneered by Shuttlecraft Systems Inc. just a few days after the RAPIER became available, and is in use in our highly successfull Proton III Type-1A Shuttlecraft, a demonstration of which is seen in the Proton III video (see in my sig for the thread link): A Turbojet clipped into a RAPIER, stacked with a Nuke. This engine achieves the best of all worlds. A little heavy, but the the pros outweigh the cons. Test it out sometime.
  7. SSI is all over functional mini SSTOs. Check us out in my sig.
  8. Anyone have a picture with a Motivational style caption? It'd be cool to put together a calendar of such Kerbalized Motivationals.
  9. Do you have an imgur album I can use to put on our SSI General Catalog for this model? I've tested it and we're certifying it as the SSI MMU-2 (original name and credit of course stored in the VAB craft dropdown window.
  10. Hehe... thanks for the ride officially certified as the SSI MMU-1
  11. Its developed and run by godarklight, a KMP dev, yes. Gimp is in the process of updating references to it too.
  12. In one of the first essential projects of Kerbal Central, we have finally provided the community with an up to date and maintained KMP server list: http://servers.kerbalcentral.com With Jumba apparently not returning to KMP anytime soon, godarklight of the KMP project has graciously developed a simple server list which we are in the process of hosting. Admins are welcome to manage their own server listing. It only lists servers that are currently up. Feel free to register and list your servers today. Your pwds are hashed for security, but as with all things, dont give us a pwd that you don't want lost. If you run into issues, please contact godarklight. What is Kerbal Central? We are just getting started as a fan-based community, and as such have not formally introduced ourselves to General Discussion and elsewhere. Before KerbalCentral.com officially launches we have a lot of work to do. Our three top priorities are to get a stable KMP server list published, an alternative to Spaceport (possibly spaceport.kerbalcentral.com), and a forum to manage Kerbal Central discussion. We could use volunteers who are familiar with php, css, html, and managing a Wordpress engine, forums, etc, as this project exists for the fans of KSP and is totally managed by them. If you are a fan of KSP, this is your community. We'd love your input in this thread as well. Kerbal Central is offering subdomains to 24/7 KMP and community admins: If your server is 24/7, or you run a Kerbal website, you are welcome to request a kerbalcentral.com subdomain CNAME redirect: yourname.kerbalcentral.com Static server admins simply post below your static ip or dns with your desired subdomain. Any dynamic server admin that wants a KerbalCentral.com subdomain redirect, simply sign up at noip.com and then install, configure, and run ddclient from a linux vmware box to update your noip DNS automatically. Post below your noip dns and if appropriate, I'll create a subdomain.kerbalcentral.com for you (you choose) as a CNAME record, and bam, you've got a nice kerbalized DNS for your dynamic KMP server such as yourservernamehere.kerbalcentral.com and you will help promote the community. I am not sure how long I'll be able to offer management of such, so request your subdomain today to reserve it. Some applications may be rejected if they are inappropriate, or are reserved by Kerbal Central. Kerbal Central is a project offered for free to the community.
