Hey that's cute. Can it do a cert run?
-
Please delete http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/ssi-shuttlecraft-type-a-proton/ apparently this entry is bugged now as logged-out users see a Buy Now button instead of Download, no stats, and any search for it yields a blank search result entry missing its image. If there was a way to preserve or modify the download hit count when I make the new entry, let me know too. Thank you!

I can solo, but never do I see another's ship, let alone dock. Does anyone have video proof of this even working?
-
Has anyone had a successful multiplayer rendezvous in KMP? I just want to know. I can dock solo, but not with a friend. Why is there no video proof of such on Youtube? Everytime I've tried things get laggy, players drop or clients crash. I've not met a single soul on the public servers who said they were successful. Private servers same thing. Is this hype?

Wackjob, You've always worked on huge projects, so much so that your name is synonymous with grand glorious massive cpu-melting designs. Have you ever considered going in the opposite direction? No one here has claimed title to the Wackjob of Miniturization...yet. Aside from the Challenges forum, and the various rocket building companies that do exist looking for volunteers, what of yourself logging in with a new nickname, and designing a craft so small, but so totally mind-blowingly crammed with parts that it is capable of making said craft go anywhere in the system...while also looking good? I started Shuttlecraft Systems Inc. with that goal in mind... and so far: A Proton H prototype, an Amphibious VTOL SSTO capable of trips from Kerbin to Duna. Be inspired. Can Wackjob be king of both the grand, and the miniature?

Try reducing wing area. Use tail fins for the outboard wings instead. Your drag may be overcoming your lift at higher altitudes.
-
Sometimes you hit upon an amazing idea...and then sometimes it's a series of amazing ideas that turns into a grand slam : Be inspired.

Mini SSTO - Zipper I - Light Orbiter
inigma replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I.2.1 has merit. Try and see if you can hide the front wheel more, and then reangle your front winglets to be more angled with the craft, but still accessible to EVA. -
Heh... people wondered why I spent 6 man-hours fiddling with Protons I-III's landing legs. The Proton II.e was notorious for its front leg's susceptibility to igniting the Proton's antimatter reserves when undergoing a field repair:

now das cool put a small docking port on it and submit it to SSI.

Go to my Shuttlecraft Systems Inc. link below and submit it in our forum thread per the OP guidelines. We want to include your craft (or at least a modified variant of it) in our General Catalog. Also in the variant I posted above, I moved your RTG to inside the front hull. Let me know what you think of that Zipper I.2. -
Mini SSTO - Zipper I - Light Orbiter
inigma replied to Redshift OTF's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Here is an SSI-fied Zipper. I removed the ladder, redid your rcs to just one cluster and just one tank. Moved the rcs tank to be hidden below the fuselage but still accessible for refueling. Also reordered your intakes to make it look shuttlecrafty with blue engine eye candy facing both directions now, and to give it a "body". I also re-angled your front winglets for more streamline cool-factor. Weighs less, has fewer parts, and probably goes higher and save more fuel too. Enjoy! Here's the craft file for your study: http://www./view/w84lmgxv80sh20t/Zipper%20I_2.craft -
Needs landing legs to really freak out the Earthlings. Then have the green guys come out of the saucer and say "take me to your leader"

Are you using a single rocket fuel tank or do you have clipped tanks? If only one tank, great job! It's worthy of an SSI submission if you're interested. what's the bottom service port for? you could prob get rid of the ladder if you retract your wheels for ingress/egress. -
We can help! Hit me up sometime. PM me what times you're available. Maybe we can also do it over KMP. I have a server up. I can walk you through building a Proton.

Its time... for a KSP community alternative for fans by fans of KSP!
inigma replied to inigma's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I do believe we need some kind of alternate message board in case this one ever goes down. And I think a community built by fans for fans is a great idea simply because of the redundancy such a system would provide Kerbal space program users. It will also help advertise KSP with yet another website. Anyone who has searched anything on Spaceport recently will most likely agree that something needs to be done now for mod managers and mod fans. A fan managed third party community can only be a good thing for KSP. I don't see it splitting up the fan base in any way since this forum will always be the go-to forum for all things KSP. A second forum would simply allow redundancy and a second chance for those who regularly get buried in the volume of this forum to get noticed. Also I think the immediate priority for KSPs first fan managed community should be a Spaceport alternative. Anyone have ideas on the best software to manage such? -
Its time... for a KSP community alternative for fans by fans of KSP!
inigma replied to inigma's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Not all. Let's replace Squad with "this forum". A place to express opinions outside of this forum. -Do you think a community alternative is needed at this point? Yes. -What else do think the community needs in such a portal? already listed. focus on an alternate spaceport first. -Should we keep it simple? YES! -Who may be interested in managing it? I might be able to commit some initial startup time, but managing it might require someone more dedicated. -Who has resources they'd be willing to donate to pull this off? I can donate the purchase of a domain and initial web hosting. -Who has the skills to make this happen? I know a fair bit of using Wordpress, php, and the basics of css, html, etc. -
SimCity has them, Civilization has them, and even Minecraft has them: Community developed portals. I think its time to discuss this. It's time to form a group, a team, to develop and maintain a KSP community alternative. Why? - The community needs a reliable Spaceport alternative. All of our eggs are in the Spaceport basket, and then scattered everywhere else. Its time for a reliable alternative/second central repository of craft files. Spaceport 2 will be fine and a godsend, but the community will still need an alternative for the unexpected. - The community needs a downtime forum, and a place to post opinions outside of this forum. (Not that this post in anyway implies a complaint or desire to split or call for an exodus of content from this awesome forum here and its most excellent moderation team.) - The community needs a place to explore different means of collaborating which can scale popular ideas quickly so that Squad doesn't have to devote valuable resources managing such ideas that may or may not be successful. - The community needs a dedicated multiplayer server system. It's time to discuss your ideas and develop a plan for a KSP community alternative. This thread is NOT about leaving this community. This thread is about complementing it. Some questions to answer: -Do you think a community alternative is needed at this point? -What else do think the community needs in such a portal? -What shall we call it? -Should we keep it simple? -Who may be interested in helping to manage it or moderate it? -Who has resources they'd be willing to donate to pull this off? -Who has the skills to make this happen? -What applications should we use? Now before anyone rushes off to snap up a domain or start programming a site to get started, lets talk ideas. Let's do this together. Your suggestions are most appreciated. What are your thought and answers to the questions above?

Its a bug when you upload. It says error causing you to resubmit...when in fact its already accepted and each time you submit it submits another duplicate. Worse, the delete funtion does not work. Spaceport is borked.

Cupcake's Dropship Dealership...
inigma replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
What purpose to lock suspension? Does it mean it will break more easily, or does suspension play any roll currently impact tolerance? I know it prevents sagging gear into the ground.
