this kind of makes sense to me. There have been times where a dream has helped me do so ething I couldnt do the previous day. For example, when I used to dance, there was one move I just couldnt do no matter how I tries to do it. One night after a heavy day of practicing I had a dream about doing that move. In the dream I had worked out how to do it, woke up, went downstairs and had a go at doing it the way I did in my brain. another more recent thing I have noticed (whe going to bed straight after a night of gaming. Like straight after ie exit game turn computer off and go straight into the bed) My thoughts in bed and subsequient dreams will be thoughts about that particular game. If its a night of dota I will sleep and dream about 1 aspect of the game over and over. Its almost like the brain doesnt need to wrry about other functions and all it has lft to do is think about stuff. Like a computer cpu always needs to have input(see: system idle process). Got to remember its not just humans that sleep, im fairly certain all mammals need sleep and have dreams. Dog owners will be aware of this. Sleep is inherintly needed to live but we are not 100% sure as to why and how. A question I have is, why cant we sleep whenever we please? I may not be tired but sleep would be usefull (even if its just to pass time) why cant I just have a bank of hours that I can just fill with sleep? I may have worded that all very terribly

vetrox replied to stargazer1235's topic in The Lounge
Just put up a thread about this before seing this thread -.-. But im hoping to be watching it -
Urgh just noticed this has already been posted....stupid phone

So channel 4 u.k (and according to this article, national geographic in other countries) are doing a live from space season in march. With some documentaries and a big insight into daily life aboard the iss. I thought I would share. I love space documentaries and none really go in depth into iss life. http://www.channel4.com/info/press/news/channel-4-boldly-goes-into-space Looks like it could be worth a watch. This artical is nearly 2 months old but browsing on my phone is hard work.

I do have KW rocketry but only because I'm using real solar system and procedural fairings for the added awesomeness. 1)Real solar system 2)engineer redux 3)Rasterpropmoniter 4)kethane 5)FAR 6)Telemetry 7)Texture replacer

Still playing around with Real solar system. I finally got reliable lifter design that can lift a whopping 15-20 tons to LKO (250000 km). So i've been assembling a space station ready for a mun trip. I've been doing it all IVA but for this part I decided to take a few screenshots. I may have taken too many because i thought the station part I was adding looked like an awesome intergalactic space ship ] And the finished product And an arty picture as the KSS goes to the darkside of kerbin at an altitude of 250 thousand km

No liftoff with SSTO
vetrox replied to Phony Sphinx's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
put the b9 wheels on the front and leave the stock ksp gear at the rear. If memory serves the b9 wheels are larger, this will make the front of your (rediculous ) craft point upwards. Have you calculated how much dv that thing actually has once its in space? You might find you can achieve your goal with a smaller more efficient craft -
A screenshot of the rondevous would also be usefull. Its all well and good getting a 15m rondevous but if your relative velocity to your target is still in the 1km/s then life just got a whole lot more difficult 15 meters is damn close though. I found docking gets super easy when you learn how to use the rcs to do all the work. My early docking attempts were basically me throwing my ship at the pink node on the nav ball, flipping it 180 degrees and killing velocity down to 1m/s or so and hoping that i was lined up correctly. God life got easier when i learnt the docking controls.

Miranda. My new favourite solar system body?

Stupid english language making things sound funny and hilarious. Hopefully the ESA is mostly people whos second language is english. Although i doubt anyone has any interest probing uranus. In futurama they changed its name to get rid of all the uranus jokes. -
We have a mod to give us better aerodynamics....now we really need a mod for better hydrodynamics!

So i'm at work and was in a Uranus mood (as i'm quite fond of its rings) and stumbled across one of its moons. Miranda. I just wanted to share with you guys how badass this moon looks! It seems to be quite unique. Titan and europa get so much attention. I feel some of the other moons need a bit of love. I wish there was another probe nearby to take some high rez surface pictures for me! (and maybe some of uranus too)....why dont we have probes orbiting every planet yet?

As has been said. This isnt 25% of all americans dont know the earth revolves around the sun. Its 25% of 2000 people in a small area. A slightly more insightfull survey wouls have been to ask what education each person had recieved. This 25% might know that the earth revolves around the sun but may have thought it to be a trick queation as they may have been taught that the earth ORBITS the sun. Although as a person who has recieved his basic level of uk education, it does baffle me that 500 americans got that question wrong Almost half that group didnt know humans evolved ffro lesser beings. This doesnt mean they believe that a heavenly diety put us here 4k years ago. All u can tell from that survay is that 49% Didnt know that. Was this a multiple choice survey?

Ive been using iva only the last week alongside the real solar system mod. Although I do have the mod that puts usefull screens in the iva so I can see all my various read outs and has a screen to use with external cameras which is nice. It certainly adds suspense...especially if something goea wrong (usually a staging error. Now before a launch I do a staging check before hitting the space bar. I normally have telematry displayed on my tablet Heres a cockpit view of my mun flyby ship that I slapped together. Edit: Rasterprobmoniter is the mod that makes the iva useable. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/57603-0-23-RasterPropMonitor-make-your-IVA-a-glass-cockpit-%28v0-14%29-24-Jan

Reusable Craft with Deadly Reentry
vetrox replied to Sauron's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Could u not take some heat shields with docking ports attaches and use kas to attach the new one after landing? Or if u dont want more mods u could build a contraption that has a bunch of heatshields on it that your ssto can just drive up to? Launch a couple to laythe and leave some by the runway on kerbin -
Been playing with the Real solar system mod and flying IVA only. Good fun...but really hard. I can just about et a 1 man ship to the moon. This ship with about 12km/s of dv in total Just to get this command module into lko (250k km) to release 2 small science probes. However the same lifter does get a small ship to the moon. Kerbin is so tiny from out there.

What would YOU want powering YOUR rocket?
vetrox replied to KASASpace's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Squirrels. Mash em up, put into combustion chamber, add oxidiser. Hey presto squirrel powered propulsion. -
The problem i had with my teachers was probably more to do with disruptive pupils. I just couldnt understand how some teachers were the arch enemey (I.E you wouldnt misbehave in their class) yet another teacher would be the oposite. In my school at least, the ability to physically harm students would be slightly usefull. Its a shame alot of teachers would have abused this privilege back in the day. I never had any bad teachers other than their inability to control the classroom. I had a great science teacher for half a term, she loved science (i dont even remember her name) and all she wanted to do was teach it. She lasted half a term before she left. Students at my school were just awfull EDIT: We had an RS (religious studies) teacher who pretty much gave up. I have memories of just watching episodes of the simpsons in his class. Poor guy.

Just use a cooling pad? Laptops shouldnt shutdown on you. If they are you either overclocked it with a bad chasis (clevo) or it needs a clean

Why does my plane dive at high altitude
vetrox replied to Cerberus738's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
More horizontal speed! as long as the prograde marker is above the horizon you are fine. You may find you need to pitch up rather than staying locked the whole flight. -
The developer of flappy bird is using a dirty marketing trick.

I find it strange that people pay for mobile games I think they are all terrible. I must just be spoilt with consoles and desktop pc my whole life -
I go through phases, some days I like super realistic, others will be iva only then another day I will play around with the real solar system mod. Last night I felt like just playing around with satellites and pretending they only had impact sensors so I had to crash them into the surface to grant myself science. Let your mind wonder. Tonight I feel like using infinite fuel and strapping 50 mainsails together All my different mood swings and procedural fairings is the one mod that stays installed permanently.
