  1. Mine would be a dirt patch, on the back of some farmers field. I do not need fancy laggy buildings to launch a rocket. OH and a rusty red pickup truck to haul the astronauts from the parking lot, to the craft. Yes, my launch area would (gasp) actually contain a road.
  2. I suck at aero, but I do know that the center of mass should be in front of the center of lift.
  3. Yes its meters per second per second. Its not something the Human mind is comfortable with, when making micro decisions.
  4. Armstrong became the first to step onto the lunar surface six hours later on July 21 at 02:56 UTC. Corrected again, I can do this all day
  5. Its not your logic that is failing, but your experience in the game. Which btw, you are getting the right way. Test, test, play, test, play, test, etc. If anyone here tries to give you the skinny on how they do it, it will most certainly be wrong for you. Take a look at this craft: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uovsk0a8jazgcqt/Fueler%20Mk6.craft That is my absolutely most favorite craft, I probably launch 2-3 each day, and a dozen on a good day. But I bet it doesn't fit the way you play, cause we all do it differently.
  6. lol, delta-egg! From waking up, to me finishing my coffee today, took 2 delta-egg.
  7. supposedly once they die they are dead, but I have killed Jeb twice now without reverting, and dozens of time with reverting.
  8. ASAS doesn't exist anymore, or maybe worded differently it exists in all command pods now.
  9. 1st f-u to all the people that shat on the guy. 2nd I can guarantee that if this game survives infancy it will have multiplayer, there is just too much money in it.
  10. If you need to put reaction wheels on an aeroplane, you have a problem with your craft.
  11. My testing: 1 mainsail: 518,308m ( a lot of atmo effects, it lost a lot of delta-v ) 1 skipper: 4,040,095m (flew nice, avoided more of the atmo effects ) Quad T45's: 1,729,854m ( I did not see any atmo effects, but it was certainly a little fast through the atmo ) 5-aerospikes: 1,357,544 (invalid, I had to add a lot of reaction wheels to keep it stable) All tests were at full power, with 2-X200's for fuel. Measured what the highest apogee could be attained straight up. tbh, this is a completely bogus test, but what engineer redux was telling me just didn't sound right. This test, at least partially, backs up the engineer redux claims.
  12. This is from engineer redux: 1 mainsail : 3942m/s and 3.64 TWR 1 skipper: 4737m/s and 1.66 TWR Quad T45's: 4558m/s and 1.93 TWR 7 aero spikes: 4393m/s and 2.67 TWR In my experience these numbers don't seem right, but I could be wrong.
  13. The optimal assent path depends on the vehicle. In fact if you are talking about efficiency, when using aerospikes a case can be made for straight up to apo, then turn. My point is that unless you know what the important factors are, and the vehicle being used, you cannot make any particular claim as to the optimal assent path.

  15. probes are so light, that the reaction wheel built into the control node is enough.
  16. Some of them could be appropriate for certain times of the game, but I could not listen to it in my car. Is that what you were asking? They were obviously made with some skill, but just not my taste for everyday music.
  17. I couldn't get any of them to play, no idea why. EDIT Got it to play, and I think Squad should consider the offer.
