  1. Actually I would like to have them make a low humming sound - is there a sound mod out there or a way to make one? Also a power distribution node would be handy - something that controls the flow of electric energy and makes sure that either all active engines receive power or none - no more midway swings to the left during long battery supported burns!
  2. Is there a way to use PF to cover something in the middle of a rocket, e.g. a block of several engines?
  3. Well, is there a reason for (many, most) mods to have a part on the vessel to be usable? I could do without a part in Chatterer, Protractor, MJ, KerbEngi ...
  4. I plan on trying MJ out in my new .21 save and will most likely use it for the first part of a landing when starting ground bases/colonization. The node editing is a real perk, especially when aligning from far far away. If MJ cant tell me data for different bodies I think I will not give up on KerbEngi as planned, at least in VAB. For now the extra data was enough for me, but I just dont like the design and the fact that KerbEngi gives you only one longish window with a list of numbers - its a good mod, but it presents its data in a very unergonomic fashion. SmartASS will be handy until the navball shows me the shortest way to a marker - it doesnt show them at all now, which is tedious and makes my Kerbals space sick when I rotate real fast to find the marker in time for a correction burn! There are just some actions in the game that cant be done stock without making it less fun for me. My 2 cents: Maybe on these forums and as a KSP community we should concentrate (even) more on playing the game, helping each other and supporting squad with our ideas (and bug reports) to finally get a game that is really awesome and complete when finished, than arguing about the way it should be played - as we should worry more about the world we live in and the path our society is taking, than trying to dictate how others shall live their lives or judging them for what they are. *offers global group hug*
  5. You know about the UI size slider in the settings? Large works good for me.
  6. Id like the Mun to be a bit lighter - more like ours. Its currently not that prominent in the nights sky.
  7. Also as far as I remember the flow chart, revert actually goes back in time - it is another autosave now.
  8. Now if I only knew the names of every ... Thank you for reminding me of the obvious solution that I tend to overlook.
  9. Ahm - just four engine - in a circle/square. * * * *
  10. Oups ... *hides own post* Over at Star Trek Online they have (whatsitcalledagain...) - well, a developers watch, an overview of every post by a developer - does the forum software here also supports this? I almost always just kept reading those posts and never had the feeling I missed out on any information.
  11. Hm, two engines doesnt "feel" very stable - could you please try three or four?
  12. #1 Good idea! #2 Dont quite get it. I havent played much, but I reverted a few times and not only after a mishap.
  13. Win 64bit, no controllers, updated steam version from .20 (will try clean download and add my version number in about 3-4h) Rocket yesterday flew quite normal - but had to correct my heading after gravity turn until it stuck where I wanted it to be - only had four winglets, one gimbaling Skipper (later Poodle) and the built in torque of the big probe core - in orbit glided a bit after fast turns, had to realign it with my desired heading, but it kept steady. Tried to orbit the Spirit Stock spaceplane (from that nice fellow whos name I cant remember right now) - was the first plane I got totally smoothly into orbit on first try! Yesterday the nose kept dropping a few degrees after maneuvering, had to aim higher for it to settle on the angle I wanted it to - slight roll at higher AOA too. At 20+km it got sluggish, nose dropped, movement on all axis more or less, spun out of control after all. Switching to rocket engines didnt help. Caught the "descent" and made a steady gliding landing over water (broke apart on splash down sadly, but crew survived). So, I am not quite sure if I have problems or not, because the Spirit is a pre.21 design and I added 5 parts too.
  14. Awaiting your mission report!
  15. I once managed to crash two vessels during docking approach - was watching my orbit and navball in map view and suddenly *kapoof* - 0.0km on the map really meant 0.0 this time - back then I was aiming for getting them close, but THIS is really pure Kerma!
  16. Cold LAVA, as in "no longer molten" ... Aaargh! Stop nitpicking on me when it is 32° C outside with a disgusting level of humidity! "I've had it with you, I've had it with ALL THIS! I want ROOM SERVICE!" Now ... that's better ... snacks?
  17. Which either has already happened as a surprise or will take a while until the next mandatory-save-breaking update.
  18. I know. But I read somewhere that these are 20km lava bubbles - although I dont know if they are cold now ...
  19. Just be happy that it is purple - red/yellow would mean it looked a whole lot more like Venus: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap100801.html
  20. But it was so cool to aerobreak just 30km above Laythe while coming in real fast! ;p Well, maybe I should give DRE mod shot finally, just to make sure I am prepared for whats to come.
  21. That would so fit the theme as it stands right now!
  22. "The Kerbals were created by man. They rebelled. They evolved. They look and feel human. Some are programmed to think they are human. There are many copies. And they have… a plan."
  23. 50 books a year?? Thats one a week! With a 40h week and being a gaming addict I only read on my weekend train trip to my not so long distance better half - but only on the short parts, the longer riding times are dedicated to catching up on the few good TV series I enjoy (on my eeePC).
