How to cheat in a flag?
EmissionGeneration replied to DROWNINGMONKEY's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yup, somehow the Kerbals managed to fit Millions of those Flags in their Capsule! If your Capsule destroyed itself due to your Events, then due to the fact that it's rediculous that you can't take down your Flag to Re-Plant it, then just Get a small Craft with 1 Kerbal, Unlimited Fuel, and go to Jool. Stick the Flag down and then End his Flight leaving Jeb alone waiting for a Rescue Mission or some Hookers for Entertainment! -
Hehe, nice Marshmallow_Man, there are plenty of things like that around for you to find. Please post them in here everytime you find 1. Oh wait, Orange7093 won't approve of that... but what the hell, we are all interested of our Communities Journey's in KSP, it brings us satisfaction to know we are kinda like a family here, so post away. -snip-

First, Congrats to getting down. Second to take Screenshots without the HUD, press F2, and then F1 for the Screenshot. Bring the HUD back with F2 again. Press F5 to Quicksave, so if you crash and burn, then hold F9 to Reload from your last Quicksave. As for the Rover Question, not sure sorry as I've never really tried much with those large Rover Wheels. -

Do you have any Mods installed that have Plugins? I've encountered a problem where it actually stopped the Debugger from working correctly. -
Return to the moon or mars landing: what first?
EmissionGeneration replied to Drunkrobot's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Hmm put a Asteroid in Munar Orbit to Mine from! Next KSP Project I can entertain myself with! On the topic though, yeah building and maintaining a Moon Base will definitely give more reward and research to show that we can live on another Celestial body with little hassle, rather than just flying to Mars and planting a Flag as Alfastar said. Doing that will bring us nothing that the Rovers we have there can't already provide for us [apart from the Flag thing]. -
Now THIS is how you draw a kerbal REALLY good.

Personally, I think you need to take things 1 Step at a time. It sounds as if you have not yet landed on the Moon since started playing, and probably a wrong choice to try and land a Large Rover as your first time. In my opinion it might be best to start with this Tutorial A Moon Rocket and Moon Trip Walkthrough for Newbies, until you get a better feel of how it all works, and then move onto something bit more harder. Even for some experienced Players, landing on the Moon might be simple, but taking larger contraptions can be a challenge. -
1 of the reasons for this in my oppinion is the High Magnetic Force the Docking Ports have. As you said, it's worse with High Mass Objects cause the Ports are pulling all of that weight into the Station / Base which causes problems. You can try the Low Attraction Docking Ports Mod which reduces the Magnetic Force the Ports need. It requires abit more spot on precision, but it does help. lowattractiondockingport/. Other than that, when the new ASAS system comes in next Update, it might help with stabalizing problems like this. You will be able to leave ASAS and RCS Thrusters On in Stations at all times with no problems [we hope]

Haha, that pic is golden!

Orbital rendezvous and docking help?
EmissionGeneration replied to Rex3921's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just put together this quick little Tutorial for Rendezvous and Docking. I tried to make it as simple as possible, [first Tutorial so apologies if somethings might not be clear] but anyway, I hope it help. I used Information Boxes from MechJeb so it's easier to follow whats occurring rather than Maneuver Nodes and Mousing over Intercept Nodes, but all the information is the same. -
Your opinion on moon landing conspiracy theorists?
EmissionGeneration replied to Burke112's topic in Science & Spaceflight
They are probably the same people who though Kerbin was Flat when it was first released and you couldn't get into Orbit =P -
Yeah Nodes are the best way to go, just make sure you keep in mind after your Velocity will drop, then so will your landing zone. Plan ahead to get where you want. Mechjeb's Landing Function is very buggy at the moment, so I probably wouldn't rely on that.

Orbital rendezvous and docking help?
EmissionGeneration replied to Rex3921's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
1 - As JaySmoka said, Usually when the Target is over KSC. I generally do it a little bit earlier, but thats just my preference. 2 - Set your Target as, the Target =P then get into a Orbit. Put either your AP [or PE] equal to your Targets, and your PE [or AP] about 10km below your Targets Orbit [start small when first learning, do not go larger or you'll miss windows]. * After each Orbit you both do, you'll see that your Close Encounter Marker on the Map will get smaller and smaller. * When the Encounter is around 1 - 2km [lower if possible] then equal out your PE with your Targets Orbit, so you're both Orbiting the same. * Once your Orbits are on the same paths, the easiest way to do it is to burn [slowly] towards your Target. You want to get your Prograde Marker on the Target Marker [Watch your Speed though] At close distances, you do not want to come crashing into it!] Travel at about 10 - 30m/s depending on your distance. * When you get within 50 - 100m Burn Retrograde to take your speed down even more. 5 - 10m/s. * Feel free to slow down whenever you start feeling a "oh sht" moment come along though =] 3 - Once you have reached your Target at about 5 - 10m, you want to make sure your not traveling away or towards the Target. Once you have stabilized that, Target which ever Docking Port you wish to Dock to. * You want to use RCS Thrusters to align yourself with the Port you are heading for. * Once you are aligned, then slowly start thrusting [with RCS] towards it. I would recommend no more than 2 - 3m/s until you get more comfortable. * When you are almost connected, take your Speed down to 1m/s. * Once you connect, it's best to not have ASAS on, but there is a trick if it wobbles alot to turn it on when they are lined up, this will minimize the wobble and Dock them up. 4 - All RV is the same no matter where you are [Orbiting that is] Just Remember, Quick Save is your Friend! Don't be afraid to hit that F5 key often. That way if you Burn the wrong way, or make what ever mistake, you can just Reload and learn from your Mistakes. I hope that helped abit more. Let us know if your still having troubles. It's late here but tomorrow I might get some time to get some Screenshots. Pictures always tell a better story than my babbling! -
I've noticed not all Mods yet are meant to go into the GameData Folder [Recent Releases, not old Versions] If I generally have problems with the GameData then I stick them in the old traditional way and they 99% of the time work out fine after that. As I do not use KW Rocketry and AIES, I can't say for those.

Multiplayer is made by throwing code together it seems :p
EmissionGeneration replied to Sigma117's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Something I put on the Steam Forums awhile ago is: * Multiplayer should be Co-Op Only [1 - 3 people] either through LAN or Internet, Private or Open Server. * The Host will be the "Captain" * The Captain decides who has permission to add Modules in the VAB / SPH [All can View, but with more than 1 adding modules Voice Chat is recommended for better Communication] * Only 1 Ship with all Co-Op Players can be Launched [How ever many Ships connected to the initial Rocket is their choice for design] * The Captain chooses who is the Pilot. Now as their is 1 person controlling the Ship, what are the others meant to do? Well seeing though Squad are implementing IVA EVA's, why not implement some IVA Jobs to do? It's not like real Astronauts just fly and do nothing else, they have many things that they need to take care of. I'm not going to list them, because I'm sure most of you are into Astronomy. Although alot of people will think that some of those things might not be enjoyable to do, but the point of this is to Play together with Friends. Some of the best Online experiences I've had is in Flight Simulator X [No time warp there] and the enjoyable part of that was chatting with Friends and meeting a bunch of guys who are interested in the same field as I am. Having the right people there can turn the most dull job into something entertaining. * The Pilot will fly to Orbit. * The other 2 will sit back and enjoy the G's. * While the Pilot starts his burn for his next Node someone else can start plotting the 1 after that while the other Pilot could do some IVA Jobs, ect ect. * Once at the destination, then any Landers attached may have seperate Pilots in and they break away for different landing zones. [Landing doesn't NEED timewarp, although sometimes it might be abit slow, it is still easily done without. * Once on the surface, each player can go on their own Journey for Science [if we ever get Multiplayer / Co-Op in the Game, there will be plenty of Science to be done, so do not judge by what we have at this current stage of the Alpha]. Timewarp is easy to fix in Co-Op. As all players are together in the same Vessel, going to the Destination is no hassle with Timewarp, but what happens when their at their destination and a Timewarp is needed for some reason? Well they simply click a button that sends a Notification to the Captain that they require a Timewarp. The Captain will check with all the Crew that everyone is in a safe spot, and either Accepts the Requests, or puts it on hold until the Crew's safety can be assured. Once everyone has Accepted, then the player may Timewarp as Requested. Now of course people are not going to just simply stick to "playing in the same Vessel or Mission" So if they all decide to go to different Planets, then sure, that's their problem cause they will have a hell of a boring time with planning it all out. Everyone will Timewarp on their initial Burn, but some will be shorter, some will be longer, the Shorter 1's will reach their Target and will need to do their Descent ect ect [time that takes will vary], while the others are still floating in Space with no Timewarp. Again though, this will be their choice, the point of this would be to play as a Team, not go seperate ways. All of this is very possible. Timewarp is definitely possible. EDIT: This would most preferably be better for a DLC, that way it's not in the Core-Game, so only the people serious about it have the ability to Join Games to try and limit Griefers [impossible to do in any Multiplayer Game] but the Captain would have Kicking / Banning abilities. -

Someone on that Steam thread mentions that the "Alien Civ" is what Squad is calling Multiplayer, but last I checked few months back, it had both Alien Civ and Multiplayer on the Never to do List. Have I missed something here? -
Will we be able to import .crafts to .21 from .20?
EmissionGeneration replied to Sigma117's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Since I started playing in .18 I've never had a issue with Stock Crafts being transfered on New Version. It's the Mod Crafts that tend to be a bit of a pain. -
Congratulations!!!! Always good to see a New KSP'er getting into the groove. Yeah, only 1 Flag per Kerbal on each Mission. I'd suggest going to Minmus next as it can be abit trickier to land as it's lower gravity and high ridges, and do some Space Stations and Moon Bases. 1 thing about KSP is it's best not to rush into the larger stuff until you have the smaller stuff down pat.
-
This is indeed the way Squad are making Kerbal Management. Basically, [besides their starting stats] you train them in the field you want them to be. Some Kerbals will pick up on things quickly, while others will just not work out. Not 100% that the Kerbals can "control" any crafts you direct them to, but there have been Live Streams where Squad do talk about that aswell. Indeed KSP is definately better to Control for yourself, but there are some people out there who prefer to use Mechjeb's Autopilot, mainly because when you have Space Stations and you are constantly sending ships up to keep your Refueler happy, it can end up being abit tedious. Having Kerbals that could do this for you can help give you more time for enjoyable things to do in the game rather than constant chores over and over.

Here's mine I just did to the Mun and back. I used Mechjeb for the SoI, AP and PE Info as I'm not that experienced as knowing the Delta-V's ect yet, but am learning. I used Vandamonde's Moon Rocket for this, but I changed the Capsule purely for a better viewing pleasure for anyone watching it. I tried a landing approach that I've never practiced before, which got messed up within 30 seconds of the burn, but oh well lol. Landing was very smooth, and IVA is actually alot of fun, might try creating a Space Station this way! Anyways, I still need alot of improvement, but I'm happy with my results. Feel free to correct me on anything or what not.

In my opinion.. the worst people are the 1's who say Clouds are Alien Orbs spraying our Atmosphere to change it to a condition they can live in and Airplanes are UFO's in disguise. Also that the Moon is a Hologram and also theres "the Moon is a Alien Mothership"... Even though there are some professional made Documentaries on Conspiracies, the main form of it comes from the Public which have no knowledge on the subject that they are trying to claim, they just end up becoming part of a cult to worship with. As Fel said, the knowledge on the internet is not always true information, and even with the things that are correct on there, people will look at it through their own eyes and see what they want to believe, such as NASA Chem-Spraying, they announced doing it in the Ionosphere using Rockets, so now every single Jet Airliner that produces a Contrail, is a secret Government Jet spraying the population with Chemicals... There are so many pictures of "Nibiru" out there, all in different distances from the Sun, and always different sizes, I've asked many of them to explain to me their orbital trajectory to have such random positions in the sky, and all I get is called a Troll or a NAStard and then blocked lol.
