  1. Greetings Friends, It has been a wonderful journey building these rockets that so many of you have come to love so much. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end... Since January, I've been working two full-time jobs trying to support my family. Whenever I start to see the light at the end of the tunnel in hopes of once again designing and developing rockets for KSP, I end up falling more and more behind. And with each KSP update, my rockets become crippled and unusable. With that, I am officially shutting down Industrial Flames & Explosions, Inc. Please allow IFE, Inc. to die gracefully. I do not want ANYONE to continue development. This has been my baby from the start, and I plan to keep it that way. If you want to build your own Ares I, SLS, Atlas V, or Altair Lander, you are more than welcome to. Just don’t use these parts or textures. To the Mods: You have my authorization to delete, lock, suspend, or whatever you need to do to remove this thread completely. I trust that if you find anyone attempting to re-release or continue development using any of these parts, you will take the necessary steps to stop their efforts. There will be a day when Industrial Flames & Explosions, Inc. returns bigger and better than ever, but it ‘tis not this day. Until then, dream bigger, build harder, and fly faster. JordanCox2
  2. It\'ll be released when I release it, and yes, they do retract and extend.
  3. Yes. They could, but it wouldn\'t make much sense, since payload fairings should be jettisoned. I see this being more of an option for decouplers, not fairings. Because it\'s not finished. Yes, the models and basic textures are done, but I still need to tweak everything.
  4. My main goal this past weekend was to finish the modeling and get some basic textures mapped. It\'ll be more detailed and refined when it\'s eventually released.
  5. Ain\'t happening... Too much work for such a small reward. Yes, the updated Orion MPCV will have a Launch Abort System. I\'m using this image as a reference:
  6. Right now, the nosecones are classified as S.A.S. modules. Until multiple classifications are supported for each part, I would have to remodel the nosecones. What I would do is chop the nosecones in half. The bottom half would be the S.A.S. module, and the top half would be the separation rockets. In the stage heiarchy, the nosecone rockets would be activated at the same time as the decouplers. This would be an interesting feature to implement. Not necessarily in a practical sense, since the decouplers do exactly what they\'re supposed to, but it would be neat to look at. As for the payload fairings, I can\'t do anything about that. They use the radial decoupler classification, so they behave as such. Until someone develops a plug-in, or HarvesteR & Co. add payload fairings to the game with their own classification, they\'re staying the way they are. Again, not necessarily a practical implementation, but a visual one. I don\'t see this as a huge priority, but I still think it would be a neat feature. I\'ll add it to my to-do list, but I\'ll get to it when I get to it...
  7. GREAT !!! BUT WHERE YOU LIVE, I ASK THIS BECAUSES I LIVE IN SPAIN (GMT 0 ) AND IS PROBALY IM IN HIGH SCHOOL WHEN YOU RELASE IT I live in Florida and I get off work around 5 p.m. (which is 10 p.m. GMT). So, depending on how long it takes me to drive home, eat dinner, fix everything and get it uploaded, you can probably expect it to be available around 11 p.m. or 12 a.m. GMT.
  8. All of the radial decouplers are messed up. A few things were changed with the 0.14 release and the physics behind 'ejectionForce' was one of them. I\'ll release version 1.4.2 tonight when I get home from work to fix this issue. In the meantime, if anyone finds any other bugs that just started popping up with version 0.14, please let me know, so I can fix them accordingly. Thanks!
  9. Not yet, but they will once I program them to. The Intrepid IV (Delta IV) rocket is on my to-do list. I\'m working on updated textures as we speak. They\'ll be rolled out over the next few months as I get more time to work on them.
  10. I hate to be 'that guy', but... Please remove the following parts from your release: [li]AresBigEngine[/li] [li]AresDeco1[/li] [li]AresFuelBIG[/li] [li]AresFuelSmall[/li] [li]AresRcsFuelXmini[/li] [li]AresRepairedEngine[/li] [li]AresSas[/li] [li]AresShuttleBooster[/li] [li]AresStageII[/li] [li]AresStage-N3[/li] I did not give you, nor did you ask for my permission to distribute the meshes and textures I\'ve worked very hard on over the past 5-6 months. Even if I did give you permission to do such a thing, replacing my author information with yours within each part configuration file is completely unacceptable. In the future, please don\'t steal my work. If you do, at least give credit where credit is due... For the rest of you reading this post, if you would like to use the models listed above, you can download my Industrial Flames & Explosions pack here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=3684.0
  11. Alright, here\'s another update. I was able to finish all of the modeling and texturing today, and she looks great! I can\'t wait to release it to you guys! @Winston: How\'s the progress on your spacecraft?
  12. Are they unnecessary? Probably... I just figured I might as well go all out, since I\'m remodeling the entire spacecraft. If I\'m not mistaken, I\'m pretty sure I didn\'t mention anything about releasing my update before Winston\'s... Seriously? You did nothing wrong...
  13. Hey everyone, I know it\'s been a while since I posted an update, and I\'m sorry. Getting situated with my new job was a little bit more difficult than I expected. However, I\'m please to announce that Orion is almost finished! Over the past few days, I\'ve been working non-stop during what free time I do have to really get this thing finished. As you can see from the picture below, the modeling and texturing of the decoupler, heat shield, command pod, parachute, and docking system are completed! The only things I have left to finish are the fuel tanks, engine, RCS system, and the solar arrays. I\'m not setting an official release date, but I\'m trying my hardest to get all of the modeling and texturing done this weekend. That way, I only need to worry about configuring the parts.
  14. Absolutely! The WIP images you\'ve released are nothing short of amazing! I\'m truly looking forward to your release! On a side note, what diameter are you building your Orion?
  15. Thanks for the pics. I\'ve been using the first 2 images (along with others) as references during the build. I\'m going to try to dedicate a few hours tonight solely for the purpose of working on Orion. If things go well tonight, I just might be able to give you guys a few WIP pics this week. I can\'t promise anything, but it\'s a possibility
  16. Hey everyone, Unfortunately, since I took my new job, I haven\'t had a lot of free time to work on KSP. Also, within the last week and a half, I received a ton of work with my freelancing job. Although having too much work is a good problem to have, it\'s not good when it all happens at once... as you\'re trying to adjust jobs, schedules, etc. So, before I continue my work on KSP, I need to prioritize and finish a lot of things. Also, coming down with the flu two days ago doesn\'t help either! I can\'t make any promises as to when I\'ll be able to work on KSP again. Just know that I am working very hard to finish my other projects so I can work on KSP again.
  17. Version 1.4.1 is now available for you to download. It fixes the Intrepid V engine issue and it allows you to attach struts (or whatever you want) to the Intrepid SLS Main Engines.
  18. Hey guys, Sorry I haven\'t answered any of your questions today. I was just hired for a M-F;9-5 job and today was my first day, so that\'s where I\'ve been! I\'m working on a 1.4.1 update that should fix your problems. The Intrepid V engines have always been extremely unstable, and the only way to fix that issue was to use struts. I\'ve never had that issue with the SLS, so I never allowed those attachment parameters. However, since some of you would like to use struts on the SLS, the 1.4.1 fix will allow you to do just that. So, basically, here\'s what version 1.4.1 will include: [li]Updated .craft files for the Intrepid V rockets[/li] [li]Adjusted attachment parameters for the SLS Main Engines[/li] This announcement is just to let you know what\'s going on, and I\'ll release 1.4.1 within the next couple of hours. P.S. - Orion is still coming along nicely. Now that I have a new job, I\'ll only be able to work on my builds after work hours and on the weekends. However, I\'ll try to release some WIP screenshots sometime next week. Thanks in advance for your patience as I get situated with my new job
  19. Ok. So, I was finally able to download 0.13.1 this morning and the problem with the Intrepid V 400 & 500 Series was still there. I need to go to work, so I can\'t upload an official 1.4.1 fix, but I do have a temporary solution until I upload the updated .craft files later this evening. Remove and replace the RL-10 and RD-180 Engines. This apparently resets something, and it fixes the problem. Please try this solution to see if it works for you as well, and let me know if you come across any more bugs. Thanks
  20. I usually try to avoid experimental releases, but I downloaded .13x1 just to see what\'s going on. I ran into the same problem and unfortunately have no answers for you It\'s obviously an issue with the experimental release, since everything works just fine in the latest stable release. However, I will continue to look into the matter, and if it\'s not resolved over the next several experimental releases or the next stable release, I will take further action to fix the issue. So, my suggestion is to fall back to the latest stable release for now.
  21. The Intrepid II was never supposed to be a munar vehicle. It was the only rocket I made at the time and I wanted to land on the Mun, so I overpowered the upper stages and strapped some legs on it. If you want to use the older Intrepid II, you can download any previous release from my changelog.
