  1. Also, we found a typo! haha. Thank you for pointing this out. I went on steam and read the changelog.
  2. Bill is more than 7m from the part? Wow, you have to be practically on top of it. I will try out the config edit, thanks!
  3. Hi there, I am having issues while building in EVA with the engineer. For reference, I am orbiting at 80km around Kerbin, and I am using Bill who is an eng with 5 stars. I am trying to build stuff on the outside of the parent ship but I cannot seem to get past the first weld. The small cubic strut is not producing a snap attachment node after I put it on the ship, so anything with a snap node cannot attach to it in that manner. Bill is on the ladder right next to it. Is this a bug or am I missing something? FYI I am trying to attach a baby decoupler to it, which didn't work so I tried an oscar fuel tank, and that didn't work either. Here is a screen cap of my issue. Thank you for any help!
  4. KSP Version: v 1.0.4.861 (not sure if 64 or 32, don't know how to find out) Windows OS Mods/add-ons: All stock What Happens: In career mode, I landed a 'base' on Minimus with a pilot and a scientist. The scientist EVA'd out to the rover, which I sent with the base. After driving for a bit, the rover accidentally flipped and the ground clipped the kerbalnaut enough to make him go ragdoll, but still stuck in the external chair. After I corrected the rover upright, I switched to the kerbalnaut to rest his posture from ragdoll to standing (still kinda partially in the seat). When this happened, the screen shook a little (like a 2 parts in a rapid collision) and he was free'd from the seat/rover and stood up next to the rover. I switched to the kerbalnaut to get him back into the seat, but noticed that he was unresponsive to any controls and when I moused over him (as shown in picture) He was deemed a piece of debris from the rover. So I tried to bump him over with the rover, but he now weighs a ton and cannot be budged. This is pretty detrimental to my career mode, because the mission was expensive and so was hiring the scientist for the mission. Fixes/Workarounds: none
  5. I just made a mega tanker (even bigger than the oasis) and I'm going to attempt circumnavigation this week. My money is on, yes. If it is heading west. East would be difficult, due to rotation.
  6. Alright! Been toying with planes for a week or two now. I decided to make long-range planes, but they turned out to no go very far. So then I decided to fly out fuel planes to multiple destinations. I've never been good at making larger and heavier planes, but I've finally done it! Here is the "Enabler FT" Action group 1 activate the forward vertical thrusters and the group 2 toggles the back landing wheels so the craft can pivot up for very short runway takeoffs. (Crucial when you're traversing rough terrain) I use KAS for the fuel transfer. A one-kerbal job. So, that was pretty cool right? I ask myself shortly after I had used it for a real flight and fuel transfer for my south pole missions, could I make it bigger? Better? More Awesome?!?!? The answer was yes! I give you, *drumroll* the "Oasis SFT" It uses the same principles as it's predecessor, and actually more efficiently if I say so myself. It's been tested and proven. Capable of cruising at 7-10 km at half throttle to save fuel, short landings and takeoffs, and a seriously large fuel payload. Here it is on it's maiden voyage to KSC 2, with fuel remainder shown. When KSP enables multiplayer, I am already planning on making mid-flight refueling versions of these with the help of KAS (and a VERY brave kerbal lol) I hope you enjoy!

  8. I foresee an international effort for Mars exploration. ESA has been making some awesome progress in all areas. China now wants a piece of the pie, and they are proving to have much tenacity with their recent missions. India just sent their first orbiter to Mars. Space X is an American catalyst for this mission, for our country. But right now MarsOne is the most promising proposed and thought-out plan, and that's being headed by a private European company, opening up contracts for different parts of the mission to whoever wants to tackle it. And to whoever complained about money wasted on a space program, countless technologies and conveniences you use everyday have derived from space exploration research. Start reading up on it, it's fascinating. If we can learn how to survive on a barren hostile planet, we can apply those breakthroughs to our own planet. Example, of we can have a robotic tended garden/farm on Mars, we can literally grow crops on any square foot of land on our Earth.
  9. [quote name=Thrfoot;909808 Joking aside' date=' I think a more realistic Mars mission would consist of several robotic craft that would be launched ahead of the main mission to set up a base camp. Then the astronauts would arrive, finish setup, and live on Mars for the next 1-2 years. Later missions could last even longer, eventually establishing permanently manned outposts. That's almost word for word what MarsOne is planning. Sending teams of 2 every 2 years after the first people.
  10. The russians are setting up the cameras for the spacewalk, cant remember who is doing the actual repairing. It'll take about 3 spacewalks to repair. I've been following this event everyday at work lol
  11. Does anyone have a more private-ish server that I may play on? All the ones online are overly populated and confusing on the rules. I just want to explore and build! I'm very respectful and just like to play casually with others. So how about it?
  12. By "open" do you mean deploy or fully spread it's area while already being deployed?
  13. I am still trying to figure out what this tweakable is. Can someone please explain it to me?
  14. Which thread will post the major announcements? I have work today and live in Alaska :-/ but I can pop in on the forums and keep up with the announcements that way. Thanks!
  15. Favorite screenshot I ever took. Look at the pretty!
  16. Here is a question. The weight of 2 48-7S's with 2 fuel lines and 4 cubic octogonal struts is still less weight than a LV-909. It is also 10 more power. However, is the 40 less ISP worth the cost of 10 more power and about .196 weight?
  17. Nicely done. Now we just need a chart for best payload sizes for each engine!
  18. Does anyone have a screenshot of Mun's polar lowlands? I can't seem to land there......everytime I try I end up on the poles
