  1. I got mainsails..........oh my goodness, I miss these! Easymode: engage.
  2. So far, each major crater on the Mun is a different biome. I have been to 3 so far. Has anyone found any other biomes other than the craters and the flatlands?
  3. ok, looks like I'll be busy! I was sad went I went to the ice flats on minimus and got the same sample as the hills.....
  4. Well, I have been to Mun and Minimus and back. Squeezing all the science I can from each trip, and I have squeezed the science out of Kerbin. Not sure if I can even make it to Duna for some new experiments...... Any tips for squeezing out some more science? (I havnt got samples from the dark parts of the Mun yet, its my next mission, but even then I will need much more)
  5. Why do the clamps work on the underside of solid boosters, but not liquid engines?
  6. Ok, so I've been playing for a few months now and I have finally decided to incorporate math into my ship designs (before I just eye-balled it). I started with fuel spent per second, however, I did all my tests stationary (on the lift-off clamps) and now that I'm doing flight tests none of my numbers match up. The fuel flow rate as my rocket ascends, decreases. What is causing this? How can I plug this into my math? I'm trying to make different fuel tank/engine combinations share the same burn time. For example, a 2160u fuel tank with a Skipper and a 180u fuel tank with a LV-N. Math is NOT my strong point (the reason why I'm doing this is to learn and practice), so please explain it simple. Thanks for reading my post!
  7. I've been playing for a few months now, and what I've been doing recently is making micro probes and rovers/landers and trying to design an effective deployment system, for planets/moons and orbital drops. Hope this helped!
  8. Kerbal One I like using the small ladders as comm antennae lol. Also, I have all fuel types and all ports ready for refueling!
  9. Use this, it helped me get there http://ksp.olex.biz/
  10. Wow! These are all great! Glad to see I'm not the only one. Does anyone have any rocketry or aerospace projects outside of KSP?
  11. BAM! First manned Duna mission and it went beautifully! Here is the album.
  12. Hahahahaha! We all need to start from somewhere. But I'm more looking at a hands on job in the industry, not so much a number crunching job. So, I think the future is safe.........as long as Jeb doesn't physically manifest himself in our world.........
  13. Kerbal One is now operational! My very first space station. Middle module is living quarters, Left is solar array with comm antennae, and the right is the refueling depot with xenon, rocketfuel, spaceplane fuel, and rcs fuel. Also has all 3 docking sizes for any size ship! Now.......what else can I add to it?
  14. That's awesome! I've had some exposure to meteorology myself. So are you already a meteorologist doing extra rocket work, or just a rocket builder?
  15. Hello all, and thanks for reading this post! Ever since I got this game/simulator back in April, I haven't been able to put it down (even through the painful learning curve haha). However, recently, I've been feeling greatly inspired by this game. I have always been amazed at science fiction, since I was a kid watching Godzilla, Star Wars, and even playing games like Starcraft. I'm in absolute love with the Star Trek universe and it is now my favorite fictional story. Star Trek has also given me a great hope to what we can accomplish in the future with a lot of hard work and an unlimited imagination. How does KSP fit into all of this? The semi-reality of the game and and physics provide a real challenge for anyone, and I became addicted to this challenge, crash after crash, even a few Kraken visits, planetary exploration, orbital mechanics, and ship design. This challenge has inspired me so much, I am now planning to become a part of the aerospace industry after my service ends in the US Air Force. (a few months ago I had no idea what I wanted to do after the service) I am super excited at where we are right now as humans in terms of space exploration. My main goal of this decision is to contribute to the next landmark in human exploration, the first manned landing on Mars. I have much schooling ahead, but I have already started studying for the necessary degrees on the side. (My current job keeps me pretty busy, as a translator you are never done learning lol). I just wanted to say thank you so much to Squad and the whole KSP community for creating the catalyst that is taking me to the next step in my life, and maybe even mankind itself. (who knows how many others feel the same way as I do?!) If it has insipred you in same way, like myself, please share it! Safe travels everyone! CчðÑÂтûøòыe ÿутõшõÑÂтòøõ! RedKosmos
  16. What I spent my early years on........ .......and now I spend my later years still playing these games Best soundtrack for any C&C game is right here also
  17. Some recent shenanigans! Landed on Minimus. WOW that place has little gravity and super icy ground! So hard to work a small rover there. Bob Kerman went into convulsions after seeing just how big and steep that Munar cliff-face was.....I forsee sweet ramping in the future..... My Caterpillar rover is a beast! 45 degree angle going up and speed is not an issue! Yes, it survived the ramp. Finally, I had no idea, but it seems I landed 10km from the Memorial. This is my first easter egg found!! Hooray!
  18. Death by screenshots DX please use less shots or the Imgur album viewer next time. side note- hope your mining monster works as planned.
  19. The "M.R.B.O.S.S." is ready for Duna! This will be my first manned trip, so I decided to cover Duna AND Ike at the same time! Modular Research Base One Stop Shop Took 3 flights to construct. The Module is VERY laggy on takeoff. (It was heavier and more complicated, so I lightened it and removed some components) Let's take the tour! Here we have the top module. This whole part will separate and enter Ike's low orbit. When the desired orbital alt is reached, the satellite will deploy and the rover will make its way to the surface. Here we see 2 side modules, these are the communications relays that will deploy to Duna's surface prior to the main lander, deploying one at a time. (There were 4, but the lag was too much for the smaller pieces, so I reduced them to 2) Finally we have the lander and 2 expedition rover (with super cool science-y instruments!) These were much larger, but due to lag and weight, were reduced in size. I hope this all works out like I'm planning
