  14. Gooooooooooooood morning hype train!!
  15. Being a student with finals looming. If I'm lucky a bunch of my favorite mods would've been updated by the time I can play again
  16. This. Some consider phantom forces a broken mechanic and a cheat, others embraced them and developed K-drives.
  17. with all the new eye candy and features the barely running game will be not so running come 1.0. So in my specific case it'll be a case for when I can afford a computer more advanced than my potato
  18. I suspect he means something like the low profile B9 (or is it KW?) adapters that are at most 1m long.
  19. I swear I saw a mod a while back that allowed to toggle the VAB to dark. Was a few months ago, so I have no idea if anyone knows where to fish for it
  20. After my first successful rentry using DRE and FAR here are some tips: 1) have a high PE. My deorbit PE was 35Km. 2) Airbrakes. I put 2 large airbrakes above and below the wing and the did pretty well while imposing very little torque. 3) maintain a constant-ish 5 degree nose climb. Since most of my designs are barely flyable with little fuel, and FAR means that any stall causes forces that rip planes apart, I try to refrain from aggressive maneuvers at hypersonic speeds. Pitching up by 90 degrees is a great way to shave off speed up high, but that's only useful while SAS can overpower aero forces. Reentry was a loong process this way, with a lot of gliding between 40Km and 26Km to drop speed down below 1.2 Km/s
  21. Current version of fine print generates contracts that are pretty close to KSC at low tech levels and rep. I had a handful of contracts that rewarded more funds per effort than any other contracts at the time. The flights that require going to the far side of kerbin I don't bother with.
  22. This is the plane in question. The control surface deflection is 9 degrees at the canards and 16 at the elevators. The elevators are the innermost control surfaces edit: So a little experimentation shows that a large ratio of control surface to wing area causes the control surfaces to stall. I swapped the wings for larger ones and the thing flies a lot better.
  23. Certain spaceplane designs have an annoying behavior where upon using the pitch control the nose rises rapidly then falls back down, then rises again and falls again. This occurs most often with designs that have canards. What causes that and how do I avoid it? I'm using FAR if that matters.
  24. used to be a time when docking ports had decouplers as well as docking functionality. I'm not sure if it's still the case.
  25. My vote is on station parts. Current "dedicated" space station parts are limited to the cupola, hitchhiker, and science lab. Implementing a space stations parts pack leads into implementing actual station functionality into the stock game.
