  1. I'll re-release the whole thing along with (hopefully) a world file when 0.21 rolls out. For now, I'm just going to tweak it here and there. The proof-of-travel is not really a big deal, I haven't changed the Sentinel design much. And thanks to you, proof-of-travel isn't much of a problem either.
  2. What are my Sentinels, cotton candy? EDIT: Well... I guess it would look like a fighter, if you pretended the 8 probes were mines and the two rovers glorified missiles... Outdated picture, the latest build's MK16R9, where I added wheels to the two "care packages" in front, along with fixing a decoupler explosion.
  3. Whoa whoa WHOA guys, it's just submissions for Macey, there's no need to go at each others throats before Macey himself makes our ships go at each other's throats. Each of us has his own opinion on how a "practical" ship should be, it may not necessarily make it "better" than any others out there. After all, this is the Internet, what one person agrees on a hundred others will object. Plus, KSP has never been meant for you to fly up and shoot stuff down in the first place, it's just a branch that we decided to adopt.
  4. Rover deployment and probe deployment was documented in my Duna mission, it works pretty well, besides the fact that the rover does have a habit of yawing slightly during burns. (RIP Halwell, the nuclear engine killed you) Also, should I forego the ion engines? With the dV the Sentinel can lug around, I think they're rather redundant.
  5. I realized as much on my Duna mission, I've switched it out in favor of the engine used in Macey's Shades (can't recall the name). I've added a bit more RCS ports, but it still doesn't seem to turn any faster than awfully slow. Any other ideas?
  6. Well, Macey's been rather quiet these few days, the hype's dying down at last. Once it quiets down we'll start to see serious submissions, right now it's all "omgIrwantbeinshow"
  7. They're mostly Hanlan ship submissions, or just gun tests. I know my Sentinel can get to Jool, but I'm too unskilled to get an equatorial orbit, thus screwing the mission. Added on to that, I'm currently managing my Duna mission with the Sentinel, so my time's pretty much full. Anyone care to do a proof-of-travel for me? Craft file here. The latest version is the MK16R2, but that only adds a parachute to the eject pod, as well as making the rovers Duna-capable.
  8. Macey did ask for space station parts under Aid Ships, if I recall correctly. But with Spiritwolf's current state, I don't think building a space station ranks high on the priority list.
  9. Not me. I did a test flight to Duna with my Sentinel today. Photos here.
  10. I figured it out myself. For the FIRST 5 posts you make, they have to be approved by a moderator in order to appear as a forum post. After that, you're home free
  11. Yep, it is. Now, to figure out how to lug the fuel tank behind it up as well, so I can do some planet-hopping around Jool, toss some probes around for my ribbon. Weight is 55t, any ideas? I can afford to burn some of the fuel in that stage, it's pretty much overkill, but due to my horrible skills at setting maneuvers I'm going to need as much of it as possible...
  12. Ah, thanks. What are the 5 engines grouped together down below?
  13. Yes, yes you can. In the meantime, anyone know a good launcher design for lifting 20 tons or so? My current design requires me to burn about a minute of my interplanetary injection stage to circularize, and I don't really like that. "The Mark 14 was developed to fix several issues that it's precursor lacked, mainly an engine that didn't take 30 minutes to finish a burn. However, it wasn't as well accepted by the spacefaring community, due to the fact that no sane Kerbal would ever need a craft that had the equivalent of 3 and a half satellite arrays as it's payload."
  14. Now all you need to do is send it into space and make sure it lands on Laythe safely. Imagine yourself walking around your base one day when suddenly tanks come parachuting down from the skies.
  15. I know, I was referencing you. Destroying them was a fun challenge.
  16. And then an army of these roll out across the plains...
  17. I shot the Vanguard next. Anyhow, my tests continue: (Mechjeb and infinite fuel on because it's pointless manually launching two ships only to make them destroy one another in an experiment) Yep, that's a killshot. I would do it form 500 meters, but my aiming's horrible.
  18. So, I was derping around with more weapon designs, seeing your large barrage of SRBs and assorted torpedos. Taking a potshot at a Shade (Sorry Macey!) Poof. Guys, please test this design out in space for me. If this is as powerful as what it did... UPDATE: I took a potshot at the Vanguard with this design. The results were not pretty. I'm going to take it to space to see if it's any good.
  19. Looks practical enough to me, but how does it handle in the air? Those wings look a tad tiny, but I could be mistaken. Then again, I can hardly get my planes off the ground without them suffering high-speed destructive impact...
  20. Hmm. It does make it harder to see if your ship does make the cut or not, though. Any of you managed to have a ship cleared? On the other hand, have an exploded view of the ship I sent. I have no idea why I made the interior so complex.
  21. Quick question, will Macey answer your email if he does approve your ship? Or will he just leave you in suspense?
  22. Ship- [AI]Sentinel MK13R4 Planetary Seeder Ship Information- The Sentinel is well-known through the Institution as the last mass-produced exploration craft before the Rift. What it lacks in speed and agility it makes up for by being able to deploy satellites wherever needed, whenever needed, and it's ability to fly both with and without a pilot. As such, it is used widely as a scouting vessel, or to "seed" a planet with tracking satellites. Company- Argent Institution (Exploratory Division) Company Bio - Argent Institution, or what remains of it, was a corporation which split its assets into two branches, Military and Exploratory. The two halves worked together in harmony for many years, each assigned it's own orbital station, and the Institute prospered. However, this all changed one day when both the stations were shot down and destroyed, seemingly by the other's missiles. (Hanlan?) Everything went downhill from there on out, the Institute declaring war on itself. The group crumbled and split, leaving scattered researchers and scientists all over the globe, without the means to restore it's former glory. This event was quickly dubbed, the Rift. That was 2 years ago. The current Exploratory Division is a ragtag group of people, those that did not fight when the Institute annihilated itself. Those who doubted the scan results saying the missiles were their own. Those, who when fighting was recorded in the Jool system, sent what was left of their ships starward, in hopes that perhaps, at last, they would find out why. Allegiance- Spiritwolf if possible, Hanlan if not. Works either way. Part count- 186 Craft And Persistence File- http://www./download/e42qlbvq4k0sq09/%5BAI%5D_Sentinel_MK13R4_-_Seeder.craft Operation Manual- 1 : Deploy main solar panels 2 : Deploy sub solar panels (backup, or when you want a small silhouette) 3,4 : Deploy orbital satellites, 2 per button 5 : Deploy landing satellites, 2 per button 9 : Toggle ion engines This ship CAN get to Jool, but due to my incompetence, ended up unable to circularize and stranded. Proof is as follows. Leaving Kerbin's SOI Jool Encounter Fishing Jool Approach And finally, me failing at Jool Capture. DOWNLOAD LINK WILL BE UPLOADED SOON
