  1. Yea, and it looks pretty good in KSP, now I just need to cover that drab grey with a nice blue!!! I think they got a box of that blue painters tape in the KSC janitor closet, and get Jeb to wrap the whole thing up should do!
  2. Is it cheating to use the FS airtanks on my SSTO spaceplanes to keep the jet engines running a bit longer when I reach the limits of intakes? I sure hope not, Because it's the main reason I finally got a SSTO into orbit, and now got one to dock with my Spacestation!!! And on another not I've made a nice version of a F4U Corsair Navy Fighter, you know the sweet Blue ones with those lowered curved wings (sorry to lazy to grab my own Screenshotright now) http://texasbestgrok.mu.nu/images/F4u.corsair.750pix.jpg So im still having fun procrastinating from discovering the final frontier to make awesome prop planes!!!
  3. Just another person complaining that the CoL is still not placing the same between about to place and placed Pwings, and this has just become very frustrating especially on a plane I'm Trying to build that uss multiple Pwings (actually all of them are Pwings) so I have no idea whats is right or not, cause i rip off all the wings and place them at once to see where the CoL jumps to for everything!!!!!
  4. Hey, I've been having a problem with the gauges, and I'm not sure if its a problem with the mod or on my end, but all of the gauges are completely unreadable. All of the textures are blurred I can't read any of the numbers or writing on them. Now at first I just figured it was the Video settings, because I keep them all down, cause my computer is slow a hell, but I even put them all the way up, and still, they were still bad looking, so unless I'm missing something, I can't seem to get them to be legible.
  5. I was wondering if there's a way to get the part of the mod that lets you set individual control surfaces for specific axis, and thats all I'm looking for at the moment. Maybe if you were to release it seperately from FAR, there would be numerous people to appreciate it. I know I've seen numerous people looking, and maybe like me aren't looking for the full mod (no disrespect, I've used it before, just not feeling it right now)
  6. I'll second that motion! Even though I haven't really used the electric motors (which I'm sure this is for) I really like this design.
  7. When I had FAR before .21, i had noticed the same problem, none of the wings from Firespitter had any control, nor did they actually move when looking at them. I figured out if you quicksave, and then reload that, it resets the control surfaces, kinda like when you have a water launch.
  8. Well it sure was a nice flight. And I have thrown some passenger parts (stuck with duct tape of course!) onto an existing Bi-plane jet I have, and have rescued three of my Kerbals...don't bring up the fact that two of them were stranded from the first tries at rescuing one...
  9. Well right now I'm in the process of trying to build a recovery vehicle, as I've got some Command pods returned from orbit that I want to pick up the crew from. But with this plane it still has plenty of fuel on board, and I should be able to make it back to KSC, and if I didn't have fuel I've got not way to refuel it...
  10. Well sometimes it's just the simple things that get you, and ignorance that induces it. There are probably a million little things like that, to help any ship, and I'm more about just trial and error with things like that, or at least until I get extremely frustrated!
  11. Yea, I don't really think there can be, cause it needs to be attached on both sides of the tail(s) and the procedural wings does seem to bee a good fit, extend them towards each other, just close to touching and connect with struts...it pretty good actually, I made another a little while ago and finally got it to fly stable...the problem is balancing the CoM right, and I had to attach 1 Big and 1 small of the radial rcs tanks on the inside of the tails, which looks a bit strange, maybe i should have used you radially tanks...oops And yes, making the attach points centered on the sides would be a good idea, as I can't really see a good use for a top or bottom attach point, unless for some reason someone wanted to attach them under wings, but...eh I've also come into some builds where a half-sized oblong fuel tank could be very handy (like the structural one, but with fuel!!!) It could be very handy. And I feel another good thing could be a better sized (and looking) radial air intake than the stock one. sometimes it can be a bit large and awkward and may be some thin like these could be nice You know something small and compact, good for putting directly behind the propellers, esp on wing mounted engines... not that I'd abuse them and cover my plane fuselage in them for plenty of intake air...
  12. My first post, so here it goes Well lately I've been hooked on making "Space" Planes, especially since I started using the Firespitter Propellers Mod, I love it! So last night after having update to 0.21, of course the SPH is the first place I went. I made some small little jet, that was pretty decent, but I wanted something better (Bigger and Faster!) So I decided to take after a pic of someone else's craft i had seen, something like a giant flying riangle, with the engines and cockpit underneath. Now it didn't really come out like that, the wings weren't form like the big Dorito I was going for, cause I guess I was just being lazy i guess, and this was just supposed to be a test craft for the idea. Now when it came to flying this thing, took off pretty good, i had flipped an earlier model very violently but anywho...in flight it was, well not the best, pitchin up or down when it felt like it, and had to use the softened controls (caplocks) Using the trim to level the ship worked fairly well, except for some reason eventually the trim would get funky and start flipping out, and diable my roll to the left, and only go right (I think one of my Alt keys is messed up) so mostly ened up making my own adjustments the whole time. After being up for a minute, I figured i wouldgo after the Second Space Center, but being adventurous, I just went where i though I Remember it being when I saw some map some time ago (I never found it...ooops) So giving up I decided to just fly around Kerbin, and then wanted to see how high i could get. After getting around 10,000-15,000m i started burning up in the atmosphere, and was a man-made fire ball for while eventually getting to 20,000m, I figured out thats where the air seems to run out and cut out my engines, but not all at the same time of course, so one sided still powere for an extra few seconds, sent me into a deadly spiral. As I was spinning out of control, one of my engines snapped off, and the uneven thrust sent me spinning worse, so I jettisoned the second side engine leaving me with the one center one...yay... Luckily gained control and checking my map, realized I was close, and heading towards the Arctic, and made that my destination. But as i got that sweet white snow in my view on the horizon, I noticed the fuel to my remaining engine was getting fairly low, and was worried I wouldn't make it, or at least i would be stranded in the arctic. But I remembered that cause I lost two engines, there should still be some ample amount of fuel left in thier tanks, and alas there was, and i realized that you can transfer fuel between you tanks, I mean I've known you could when docking and what not, but didn't realize you could on same craft, guess I never really needed it before so...whatever. IN doing that, i drained one side first...not a good idea, cause leaving extra weight on the right side causing the plane to roll over, so struggling to empty the right side while keeping upright, I almost crashed. Continuing on my journey with restored fuel, I came into the arctic! I was feeling proud, It was the longest flight I've made, or at least one in full control, and I've had some trouble, and made my way through it. I was really starting to appreciate this game like I hadn't before, it was awesome! I was actually doing something rather than making some short lived craft on a useless flight. So I ended up getting near the pole, cause my compass was starting to rotate, and, well I passed it, ooops... So i circled back around, and started to power down and and get as close to the pole as I could, and BOOM I laned! I wasn't as close as I wanted to be, and cause my plane didn't really like to yaw very well, i can't taxi my way to the pole, and I din't add a ladder so I can't even make the final hike to the pole, if I ever want to return my Kerbal Home... So here I am, landed near the North Pole on Kerbal, Successful on this Test flight of a new plane, to place I haven't been, where I hadn't even planned to go...and I've acquired a new appreciation for this amazing game. I plan to eventually return to KSC and bring back the news to my family, but for I'll enjoy the fluffy white goodness!
  13. I think it would be a good idea if you could add some parts that would help make something like a P-38 Lighting. I had made one before, but it wasnt to stable, and i had to use Procedural Wings to make the part between the cockpit and the engines and for the tailpiece with two of them just sort of going through each other, and also some sort of small short tail piece for the cockpit, i had to use the air intake, and thats a good shape and size for what you already have, but a dedicated structural piece kind like that would be really nice. Note when i attached the taknes and the engines, i could only mount the tanks sideways, not upright and looks a bit strange, along with the tail piece, whic would be good if you had one like the one you already have, but that goes straight back, angled on each side rather than one side flat. And I've already seen several posts of wanting F-86 Sabre Jet parts, just showing my support for that idea!!!
