In reality though, how many people are going to be willing to travel for more than a few hours in order to get to a kerbal convention? Personally there is no way I would go to one if it required me going to a different country, I doubt I would go if it was more than 4 hours away. On the forum we have the most dedicated of kerbal players, In reality most people that play Kerbal Space Program probably wouldn't show up so each convention location might end up with no more than a few people of these forums and if lucky some local kerbal players. I think the best way to do it would be some sort of online event so that it is easy to access for everyone.

If you want to kill time you can post random hype stuff in the 1.1 Hypetrain thread. (Once you enter, you can not leave!!!!)

You can change your flag to a different one for each save. You can see the flags on the walls of the hangars so you can tell which save you are in.

All you have to be able to do is reach orbit. Once you have done that, if you run out of fuel you can just send another re-fueling ship (assuming you are not using any life support mods.) As for the parachutes, don't open them too early because they will burn up. 8 can sound like a lot of parachutes but depending on the size of your ship, be prepared to use your engines to slow down.
