  1. Why not? We see this in other games that use Nvidia PhysX or AMD's version that I can't recall.
  2. At the risk of being a dumb question... Why doesn't Squad just offload the physics thread to the GPU instead?
  3. Happens to me as well, I go to KSC then back to VAB/SPH and it's fixed.
  4. So when can I play KSP on my iPhone? This is not totally unexpected, if going to Xbone and PS4 they may as well do all of the consoles.
  5. Shoot on that note a bigger SRB would be sweet for something like an ARES I-X replica.
  6. GTX 580 3GB here, and GTX 780 SLI on the other system at home.
  7. I agree, but it (I think) would also depend on the scale we're talking about. If it's a relatively small-medium drydock to build things like probes or smaller ships I think it makes sense. It's when you talk about BIG (Thinking HERMES from The Martian trailers) ships and construction projects that it becomes many times easier to build in space rather than a dry dock. Just my $.02.
  8. I assume at this point that focus now is on plane parts and once they are completed to the satisfaction of the developers that rockets will be focused on once again. We don't need LF only tanks, why add more parts to the game when they could just add a button to switch the fuel from LFO to LF. It's a hollow cylinder. It makes no sense why we would really need more fuel tanks*. They could use a fresh face, but I don't think more big ones are really needed**. *specifically to add LF only capabilities. **To expand, I mean at this moment, as in there are other things that should take priority first.
  9. I think it would be cool to get some more advanced contracts once you have the tech tree maxed out. Ie. build an "ISS" replica in LKO using these modules. Just an example.
  10. Try aerobraking at Laythe instead. Your velocity aerobraking at Jool is probably around 9km/s, whereas at Laythe the atmosphere is thinner and you should only be going around 5km/s.
  11. A 6 or 7 crew member 3.75m command pod would be excellent. Some other things I would like to see: Some sort of flyby finder in stock to help with planetary transfers. A few different sized habitation rings, or at least a spindle we could build them on. New planets. New Solar panels (Think NF Solar). More rocket engines. More .625m fuel tanks and probe parts.
  12. 8GB but will upgrade to 32GB when 64bit KSP is out.
  13. New parts!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!! That 2.5m jet looks AWESOME. Now what about a 3.75m one to complete our range?
  14. Low part count ships are a challenge. I made a Space shuttle that weighs in at just over 70 parts I think, less than 40 in orbit. My Jool 5 mission measures around 300 parts though.
  15. I'm curious what would be doable without asparagus staging, probably 95% of the Eve landers I see are asparagus staged. I know I made one in .90 that was like 500,000kg, 200+ parts and worked pretty well.
  16. Yes. If it's a big ship it will collide into them and can ruin a launch. I also strictly avoid clamps for everything except my space shuttle.
  17. I posted on the linked forums, but this is an awesome idea. I'm willing to donate time and money. Is this planned to be a single, standalone mission? Or is there a secondary mission planned? For example, the Phobos idea is brilliant.
  18. IMO: Don't worry. Secondly, I discovered today definitely aerobrake at Laythe rather than Jool, I spent 2 hours trying Jool before I realized aerobraking at 9km/s was a bad idea. Aerobraking at Laythe saved me about 2,000 dV (just a guess), and had no issues with exploding at 5km/s. Mothership is now in Laythe Orbit weighing just slightly under 400,000kg.
  19. Wow, <40T is nuts to do this... My mission is not exactly minimalistic, but it weighs in at >1400T before leaving LKO. I have everything built except my Tylo lander, I am not sure yet how I want to approach it.
  20. I see you have allowed Procedural parts and stock fuel switch, does that mean that Interstellar Fuel Switcher is also okay? I believe it is essentially the same as Stock Fuel Switch, I haven't used that one though. In my case, I've used it to switch some of the FTP and KW Rocketry tanks to LF only. Either way, I support the change to allowing PP and SFS because I have always though it's pretty dumb not to have these features in stock, I have been designing a ship with landers over the past few weeks but was planning to do a standalone mission instead of this as at the time fuel switching was not allowed. I am currently gearing up with a mothership, multiple landers, a LOT of dV, and a special surprise I have not seen anyone else do so far.
  21. One syllable, "laith", like "faith", but with an L and spelled Laythe.
