Ther are a multitude of was to make fuel in space, the most simple being electrolysing heater to make hydrogen and oxygen. A another possible was is : http://news.discovery.com/space/moon-mining-needed-to-fuel-space-exploration-110713.htm A another is: http://www.wickmanspacecraft.com/lsp.html 2 more are: http://www.wired.com/2012/11/making-rocket-fuel-on-mars-1978/ Out all all these methods I would recommend the Alice method using alimunim and ice on the moon, this method is in ksp interstella mod pack. Bug the mars methane method is promising using hydrogen and co2 that is commenly found in the Martin amthosphere

Apature rocket science replied to Apature rocket science's topic in The Lounge
"This not really a scientific discussion. Can you please stop spamming the Science Labs with posts and threads that add nothing to the discussion?" I am trying to make a sato only using iron engines, at the current rate the rocket needs to be the size of 8 orange tanks just to lift off at .005 mps, it will take me about 1 hour real time to get to orbit and the peri aspires will allways be less then a meter above the rocket. The rocket is so weak that it can't time warp at all. If I could use the new iron thrusters the rock would only be the size of 3 orange taks and could reach .5 mps so these new iron engines are a huge leap ford.

How does a spacecraft know it's in orbit?
Apature rocket science replied to dharak1's topic in Science & Spaceflight
If they continued to use windows on the iss it would decently get a virus and cause it to be the first space station to be taken down by a virus. -

The reality of living in space and having the whole thing rotate to make gravity is the dumbest idea ever if you jump you will just float and keep gonig till you touch something else, it only works if you are torching the rotating object
