  1. I think what someone said earlier is right, each patch <have yet to see a new patch yet, as I came in only just after .21 dropped> is more optimal than the prior with things having been smoothed out some. Heck, I watch some of the older videos on youtube where the game is in like .16-.17 or there abouts and then look at what is on MY computer and I am floored at how much more optimal the game is NOW compared to then. Relax, we are in Alpha, things will improve, till then, keep Bill, Bob and Jeb entertained!
  2. That has to be in the yellow. Every flight right? Awesome design! Part count? Weight? Mods if any?
  3. I can always dump the outter 8 engines, they are on detachable pylons
  4. As far as deaths go, only the Gemini and Mercury programs along with the 2 stations the US has sent up, are fatality free, but, sadly the clock is still young on the ISS. yes, I am aware of the fact that the ISS is in fact a global system and not just american. but, it is part of NASA, so, it gets to toss its hat in XD
  5. sad part is, the Soyuz system is older than the Apollo system that was retired in the late 70's early 80's <IF you count SkyLab lol>. That alone makes it so depressing that we must rely on about 5 decade old tech to get us up to the ISS.
  6. why so many? Simple. My trip to Jool showed me something scary. 4 Nukes + 1 Rocko Max Poodle was BARELY enough to do Jool. SO, I figured that if 4 + 1 handled Jool, multiply it up by 3 on the nukes! I am currently scratching my head on the return trip, not sure how to pull it off, but, I figure, get into space and THEN try to at hit something manageable like Duna or Eve, atleast then IF thats all that ship can pull off, a rescue is easier, but hoping for a safe return XD
  7. I just learned a very valuable, very painful lesson. Moho is a royal B(*CH to get to! I give you <current mission underway, only Jeb is EVA, Bob and Bill await GO for EVA> The Moho One on approach to Moho and below that, ON the Day Side of Moho with again, Jeb on EVA. Side thought: The ring of engines are detachable for a more firey re-entry to kerbin when I arrive home XD
  8. Okay... Moho... Small planet. I think to myself, self: Moho is a tiny little rock, lets visit it. How hard could it possibly be to get there? I mean heck, I managed to get a probe into orbit around the sun, which is further into the the solar system, and that was easy enough. Now, most of you who have done the Moho thing just shuddered and called me naive. I agree. I WAS naive at the LEAST. Holy heck this was a hard hard mission!! Took a MONTH in KERBIN ORBIT, then another 48 days in transit AND to LAND. WOWSA!! I will never EVER assume this to be easy again! BUT, oh so rewarding! I have yet to eva Bob or Bill, only Jeb is out side right now on the ground. Even landed DAY side too!
  9. Lets just enjoy what we have and wait for what's next to come
  10. at some point we will beat the atoms so hard we generate fusion!
  11. i have to slap on as many mainsails as I can since I do not have any larger engines. have not gotten off my butt to get nova punch lol
  12. this thing looks awesome! is that 3 ships linked as one or just multiple cockpits along the fuse?
  13. I think he has officially put his foot in his mouth!
  14. if memory serves me, Space Above and Beyond.
  15. What it all boils down to is this: we paid our fee to play, so we shall play how we see fit. This is single player in a sand box. If you do not like me using blue shovels and blue buckets because you prefer red ones, then get out of my sand box. If you don't like mods, have it your way in YOUR sand box. I will have it my way in mine.
  16. Don't know only been to Duna once with a rover probe. Will target a pole for a manned mission and look edit: fixed a spelling error. stupid tiny phone keyboard
  17. You sir in that ONE LINE could not be any further away from correct without coming back around. I never could pull off a successful rendezvous and docking no matter how hard I tried. I always ended up either careening passed my target, into it or getting to 10 meters to station keep before completely exhausting every single shred of fuel in the chase vehicle only to then switch vehicles to then screw up again to cause the now 100% adrift vehicle to spin beyond capture lock in docking. Mechjeb taught me to dock proper like. And since I have linked twice now that Squad has no intention of giving us autopilot or any function mechjeb gives us, it is a vital component like it or not. The post above me is also excellent in its point and equally true in that mechjeb gives us information vital to success with delta V and other information. But NASA uses the same info and more than mechjeb gives us, guess they are lazy too right?
  18. Okay, I have a question for all of those who abhor mechjeb for what ever reason. Are you against mechjeb because it makes things like getting into orbit or docking or even setting up interplanetary moves easier or are you against mechjeb solely on the point of it is a mod, and you are waiting for Squad to implement an auto pilot mechanism of their own? Because I am sorry to say, if it is the latter, then, well, you may have a serious problem. Not happening The following features have been confirmed to not be in the official game (although may be found in mods): Autopilot Systems[citation needed] THAT is taken directly from http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Planned_features So, if you guys are hating on MechJeb because squad did not implement it, then, perhaps it is time to re-evaluate your position on this, as, MechJeb looks like it will be our go to autopilot for the very foreseeable future and beyond, as, that link clearly states, a built in Autopilot is not on the 'to do' list. Please, if you hate on mechjeb for some other reason <only calling out the mechjeb haters and not the 'whole mod thing is bad' group> please do explain. To the aforementioned 'whole mod thing is bad' group: mods make for more options and can custom fit the difficulty to our style, so, please, lay off. To those who cannot run mods because of computer limitations, what is your out side perspective? Just wanting an open discussion is all.
  19. I love mechjeb and romfarers lazor docking cam, both of which I find ultra useful, and since it seems they (squad) have no intention of adding autopilot, I find mechjeb an absolute necessity. Source: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Planned_features Bottom of page in red. Real shame if this stays this way but that's why mods are GOOD!!!!
  20. I had to. I just had to link this. the extended version of Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot.
