hum ... it's hot in here xDr ... anyway ... i finnally made this craft just per curiosity, wich is symetric but assembled an assymetric way. then it appear to have a flight impact, and that the overlay is linked to flights physics results. (As with this craft as you start to pitch, right after auto take off without the need for any direction input, it spin, apparently due to one part only with a different light blue vector orient, while the said part is totally symetrically placed in the end but not attached symetrically at first) craft file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5JHmZea7s91MXFhazV1VmNPN3c/view?usp=sharing full gallery with assembling reproduce step & comments, (a few extra img at album end that can't be deleted from it after upload {24 to 29}) EDIT: COM and COL to each other with an assymetric built plane (left) and a symetric built plane (right). seem it has no impact at this point not sure may be it might be usefull to apply some physics calculation transformations workaround somewhere & between in // with the unity issue thing.

Finnaly after many many many many many prototypes and attempts later ; ) 1 Velocity CircumNavigation @ 42:23 , burned the very few extra fuel during final approach between approximately 7000m and 2000m to gain a few seconds. (now will try mostly the same design with 2k° parts instead of 2k5° & 2k4° parts to gain a few more second with a slighty lighter plane) 1 Velocity CircumNavigation @ 40:27 riding what look more like a missile than a plane. (can even enhance it again reducing fuel, and improving slitghy it's profile) @Haruspex, i kinda like how you made the cockpit ; )

yup but when you know where things are, medium/long term, you loss the search and seeks excitement , some procedural science content could be interesting regarding that. (kinda like the contracts list, we can have a special location list and make them pop randomly in the system @ some coordinate, celestial bodies, original ground structure, wreckages, fonctionnal stations, bases, ship, rover,sat etc. ) ----- edit: ----- (& also why not some part of this extra content within the spawn pick up list could either be premade and/or procedurally generated itself from some assembling algorythmics basis)

Worked a little on the latest plane, reduced parts, reduced fuel and reduced drag can still enhance it a little more. Also started working on multiple circumnavigation plane (last screenshot: so far this baby can do 1 circum with 15k fuel remaining, should be good for two as a lot of fuel are consumed while take off with turbo jet, i continue working on it, currently mostly miss a few lift and stability and eventually a few heat shields here and there) 1 Velocity Circumnavigation @ 00:44:01 (comments seeable on imgur) Edit: From the same basis another prototype slighty better, with a few less part, less drag, less fuel and better heat resistance for slighty higher cruise speed. (secure attempt with it for testing purpose but this one as some more potential to offer) 1 Velocity Circumnavigation @ 00:43:23

the strange thing is that with craft (02 ?) 03 and 04 not all the light blue vector move the same while rolling (intake stay parrallel with the body but fuel tank vector rotate) for the vectoring inclinaison my own bet as said is that it's mostly related to the linkage from one part to another binded unity part main axis // surface attach relative axis. <= this tend to cause weird vector move while pitch, yaw, & roll (so probably might as well be related with relative absolute system calculation and use at some point in the source)

; ) many many many many many many prototypes later xDr ; ) 1 Velocity Circumnavigation @ 00:45:19 it's start getting nice ; ) (btw i use turbojet only for fast ascent , secure landing and restore electricity around 2/3 flight else they are turned off doing so i reach mach5 2.00 to 3.00 min after take off ; else i do the whole flight with only the two rapier for fuel consumption efficiency)

same this evening with some liquid fuel tank on a MK2 part , i solved this fixing the parts along main Mk2 axis then offset/rotate instead of final position attach (<= reproduce steps). Doing so remove the inclined light blue vectoring. (btw the light blue vectoring appear to be linked with subsequent parts main unity axis and/or relative @ mk2 {any other part (?)} fixing point) let me know if you need some craft file, it's easy to reproduce.

So i'll started to use the rapier for the first time yesterday and after struggling a lot with thrust, take off and fuel efficiency with many many prototypes here the first succesful one under the minute: The take off was kinda slow but will reduce the fuel weight a lot as i had many extra when landing to fix this and reach max speed faster to make a better timer with it ; ). btw Xana previous time was 1.00.36 not 22 ; ) 1 Velocity Circumnavigation @ 00:54:12 EDIT: 1 Velocity Circumnavigation @ 00:52:45 with same plane slighty optimized (first optimization pass will enhance it further more soon especially regarding heat dissipation and a few less fuel) (yup yup the black bird look kinda great , nice perf Graviti ; )
