[1.8-1.12] TextureReplacer 4.5.3 (8.2.2022)
lajoswinkler replied to shaw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That's not a constellation, but a star cluster. Pleiades. Little Dipper is much larger. -
very skills

I tested it on the launch pad with several of those largest batteries so that wasn't the issue. Glykerol was plentiful. Vessel was composed of a capsule, batteries, cryonic module and a medium sized probe core. Third Kerbal simply couldn't fit because "module is full" even after the two inside were frozen. After thawing the two Kerbals inside, I've tried to remove them and the first went out without problems. The second was just gone. Module was empty. Robotic probe core? What do you mean?

A little closer to home: Ridin' dirty on Minmus
lajoswinkler replied to Randazzo's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
The vehicle looks like a cute bug. I like it. -
I've just started using this mod as a way to enable my mission to safely aerobrake without exposing sideway stuff to the plasma. However I can't fit more than 2 Kerbals in one module, and after thawing I can't remove but one Kerbal out of it. Is it something that normally occurs when you use this mod in v0.9. or an usual glitch?

That's a girandola. Here's a huge one. Rotation provides the stability of an otherwise nonaerodynamic body.

I've sent an impactor to Neidon. Periapsis was set few kilometres below its atmosphere edge, so it was basically grazing. Results are the same - extreme decceleration below Mach 1 and, as the probe slowly falls down, ever faster precessions like a wacky spinning top. Any news on DRE-OPM compatibility?

Wernher von Kerman has finished designing the next edition of the Kron ship. Number 3. It is still in the prototype phase, but so far it's pretty much the stuff you'll see reach Sarnus system. You thought Kron 1 and 2 had large propulsion units? Check again this comparison. Unit #2 below unit #3. ÃŽâ€v in this configuration (without unit #2 of course) is 14918 m/s.

Have you ever met anyone who thinks that Apollo was fake?
lajoswinkler replied to FishInferno's topic in The Lounge
Yes. My female colleague from the university. It wasn't even about the facts or their misinterpretations. She thought it was preposterous to even consider that a human being was able to go there, something on the order of having a lunch in a black hole and coming back before supper, so she didn't even want to hear the argumentation. To her, it was something utterly impossible and absolutely faked. I think it's enough to say I've lost almost all of the academic respect for her. Nah, it doesn't. Sun's spectrum, even when filtered by our own atmosphere, is enough to ruin dyes. In the naked vacuum of outer space, that's a lot more prominent. -
Squadcast Summary (2015-02-14) - The Valenti-nope Edition
lajoswinkler replied to BudgetHedgehog 's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is very, very good news. It seems like you're doing a huge work for this version, uncomparable to the previous ones. I'll just ask about that chase camera. What does it mean less nauseous? It's fine as it is, except that it doesn't work on Kerbals. That should be fixed. -
Interstellar's Gargantua: pre Hollywood
lajoswinkler replied to Nertea's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Because that's the accretion disc. -
This is amazing, well done! To ones claiming it's illegal, it is obviously not. What you do with radiowaves that penetrate your house is your own bussiness.

As PakledHostage said, some of you have no bloody idea what you're playing with. Raised in free societies with plenty of resources, you take all of it for granted, and the only social kerfuffle you personally experienced is when your videogame simulates it. Hopefully you'll never experience the real thing. BTW I'd advise you all to stop mentioning any history facts and using asterisks because you might get infractions. On this forum any historic facts are treated as "politics" and asterisks are interpreted as the worst possible hidden word.

It will always stay in Kerbol's influence because there's nothing except Kerbol, however it will never return. Science results remain the same. I wanted for it to stay in hyperbolic orbit and to be the a vessel that will travel the longest distance in this savegame, sort of a Voyager 2.

Well it doesn't bother me if you put few screenshots, unless you cram the thread with them, but if you want more exposure for your work, open a thread. Kaos 2 has reached Neidon after more than 7 years of travelling. A small impactor was deployed and the probe later returned to its original path. Due to the Deadly Reentry incompatibility, the impactor quickly slowed down even with a very shallow periapsis. No plasma trails. At Neidon even RealChute fails to work properly. Results say that Neidon is very windy and cold, but thermometer is "too purple" to be read. Impactor was left to be crushed. The probe leaving Neidon. It gained an enormous quantity of speed by the gravity slingshot and now is escaping the system.

Yes, people have thought of that. (I hope I'm not breaking any rules again. )

Nah, more of a pleonasm, although not necessarily.

Supply the crew with this machine.

It was enjoyable. Nothing mindblowing, just entertaining. Not stupid and awful as I've heard.
-
I had to do this.

True, 100% anonimity is impossible, but that doesn't mean you have to chose between: a) zero and 100%. If you use Google's services while being logged on, it will collect data. If you don't, and you don't have a static IP, what can it trace? It can't. Only if someone wants to trace you will your activities be monitored. There are simple ways to avoid passive collection of data. Don't log on, clean history, change IP on regular basis.
