http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?release=2014-275 The shadow cast by the rock in mid-afternoon sunlight reveals it is about 20 feet (6 meters) tall. In the downward-looking image, the boulder is only about about 11.5 feet (3.5 meters) wide. It happened to come to rest with its long dimension vertical. The trail it left on the slope has a pattern that suggests the boulder couldn't roll smoothly or straight due to its shape. high resolution photo It's kind of funny how something so stupid on Earth is great news if it happens on Mars, don't you think? It sounds as one of those stupid news during the summer season when nothing happens.

Please disprove the theory of evolution to me
lajoswinkler replied to Monkeh's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Atomic theory and cellular theory are no way near the magnitude of evolutionary theory in both the claims and implications. No, you're wrong. People questioning theory of evolution are _____(insert "holy" book of choice)-thumpers who disregard the immense body of knowledge, experiments and findings many sciences have. Things you mention is the stuff scientists are investigating while never even thinking that the base of the current theory is wrong. Very, very complex stuff thumpers can't even begin to grasp. -
Watch the clouds sail over the sea- on another world.

To some people this might seem like an ugly set of photos, but to me, this is breathtaking. It's a good time to be alive. -
Mod recommendations - parts and gameplay
lajoswinkler replied to Threezool's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Thanks. No, that's Atlas texture from Procedural Parts, looks metallic. I didn't even know there was that reflective shader for KSP. I see there isn't a new version, so I'll pass. My computer is also on the verge of huge framerate drop, and I'd like to keep it >25. What do you mean by sig? Picture or the text? -
Primary Causes of Rocket Failures?
lajoswinkler replied to Exosphere's topic in Science & Spaceflight
They mostly tilt and then the pressure of the air rushing becomes uneven. They aren't built to withstand much lateral forces, twisting, rotating and stuff like that. Early rockets were less sturdy so they would break up at low speeds. These days when they break up, it's usually either because of the overpowering rush of air or the solid rocket fuel has cracks. -
Please disprove the theory of evolution to me
lajoswinkler replied to Monkeh's topic in Science & Spaceflight
It's the strongest theory science has to offer. Way more solid than The Big Bang. Every evidence so far backs it up. -
Mod recommendations - parts and gameplay

I also don't like weird, unrealistic stuff so I understand what you're trying to accomplish. Deadly Reentry for that so much needed realism of coming back home. Slamming into Kerbin at interplanetary speeds is not a nice to do to Kerbals. Distant Object Enhancement because that's how stuff in space looks like. Kerbal Engineer Redux for counting delta-v. You can't cheat using it, unlike MechJeb which can be considered cheating in certain cases. Environmental Visual Enhancements for the looks. Near Future Solar because it has incredibly nice and realistic solar panels. DMagic Orbital Science because it has cool stuff you can attach to your stations and probes. Magnetometer boom, antennas... Very nice. KOSMOS because it has great engines, struts and solar panels. It gives your vehicles a professional feeling. Procedural Fairings and Procedural Parts so you can enclose the cargo and make stock-like, rich and imaginative stuff. RCS Sounds because it's cool. Real Chute if you want to avoid exposing anything to 15 G spikes. Texture Replacer to remove the ungodly stock skybox. Some of the examples from my screenshot folder: The station looks amazing when the panels are deployed. -
This was few hours ago. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/90457-Anyone-interested-in-mechanical-stuff-like-building-engines If you have that short of an attention span, don't even bother doing anything in KSP ever more, dude. What the hell?

Am I the first one to circumnavigate Kerbin by land?
lajoswinkler replied to Wooks's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Well done, Wooks. I'm glad you've made it. -
Banana for Scale - Analyse bananas in space!
lajoswinkler replied to JoePatrick1's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I bet they'll go bananas. I've made a satellite at geostationary orbit height, but retrograde and named it Gravitometric Orbital Observatory for Measuring Banana Amplification. I've pushed it into uncontrolled tumble and tried to save it using Kerbals. Mission successful. -
[0.21+] Kosmos Spacecraft Design Bureau: Updated (9/27/13)
lajoswinkler replied to Normak's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I can confirm that the solar panels and engines work fine in v.0.24.2. I don't know about the docking port, but if it didn't work in v.23.5, it probably doesn't work now, either. -
I know all that, but we do have the means of controlling the urges to take one's life. It's a very severe condition, not just typical very bad mood. He supposedly killed himself using inert gas. That requires some planning. Unfortunatelly for me, I know what your're talking about.

Are you related to this region? That guy is Mladen JuriÄÂić. There was a ton of people in that band, entering and exiting, forming other bands, etc. I'm not really into all that, but I really like this song. The whole region gave a huge number of awesome songs during the late 70s and 80s and was powerful and recognized in Europe. Then the war came and everything went downhill. The mainstream music scene never recovered. There are new quality bands, but they are mostly ignored by the corrupted media. Try this one. It's a cover of one punk song. You can skip the first 25 seconds; I have no idea what that part is for.

Everything I know about him reminds me so much of a bipolar disorder. He presented us with his cheerful side, full of energy, and tried to control the opposite by drinking. I've googled it and yeah, he really had that disorder. I don't understand what went wrong. We have remarkably good drugs to treat this illness today.

I can't believe it.

Macey Dean is still gone... four months of waiting
lajoswinkler replied to Munchboii's topic in The Lounge
Whoops. Then it's merging time. -
lajoswinkler replied to happyjack27's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Waiting is one of the charms of KSP. Going to Eeloo or Jool shows you just how vast the universe can be.
