  1. Hi all, I found multiple bugs in the training scenarios of KSP, the most annoying being in one of the crucial missions (for me, at least): the one that flies you into orbit. In the scenario you are supposed to follow the purple rabb...eh...target into the orbital manouver, but, no matter what, after the decoupling of the expended thrusters the tutorial breaks: the instructor tells you you're off course even if you are using the SAS autopiloting function. That's amazingly annoying! I play Kerbal via CKAN (v 1.16.1) and the only mod installed is the Enivronmental Visual Enhancements (v 2:EVE-1.1-1). Any guess?
  2. I still have some trouble with orbiting, I'm start thinking I'm somewhat dumb! My flight schedule works this way (as suggested in a previous link and using the S-12 experiment): 1) Lift off full throttle 2) Keeping full throttle and vertical heading, reach 13000 m and turn to 45 vertical degrees east. To be able to do this manouver without a SAS I shut down the engines. 3) Throttle up again keeping 45 deg east heading I get a very ellipsoidal trajectory which keeps diving into Kerbin. What am I doing wrong?
  3. Yes, thanks! :-) Still haven't managed to get into orbit (I'm reading your other post now), but the ship works! My problem now is one of fuel capacity: I exhaust my fuel capacity before reaching a stable orbit around Kerbin: should I turn East @ 45° of vertical inclination sooner? I do this around 10k meters, but maybe it's to late (or too soon...)
  4. Ok, I think I got the problem: instead of downloading the .craft file, I tried to reconstruct the ship from the picture and I've got the staging wrong. Instead of having a first stage with 3 engines and a second one with one engine only I inverted them... Thanks for the help!
  5. Maybe I'm getting something wrong: the S-12 set-up does not even lifts off in my case. I've also checked with the Kerbal Engineer Redux mod and the TWR for the main stage is < 1. I'm desperately trying to go into orbit in career mode, but I'm stuck: I cannot find a powerful enough configuration which is also weight balanced (and does not sway from a straight path due to...hmmm...torque forces generated by uneven fuel consumption?)
  6. Voneiden: if you could help me with the wiki dumps that would be amazing and I'd really appreciate that! Otherwise I'd just rely on a webcrawler at depth 3 and some filtering hoping that it gets all the interesting bits and nothing too messy comes out... Cheers!
  7. Thanks everybody for the welcome and the answers! Since there's no online mode I'll resort to webcrawlers to be able to read everything at home...and hopefully that'll mean airborne spacecrafts! :-P Cheers!
  8. Hi all, hope it's not a double post: I've tried already to send this, everything looked fine but I cannot find my post anymore...so I try again! I'm a really newbie Kerbalist: up until now I've just managed to crash ships right after the take off... ...that's where I understood that I needed to study to make them work properly: let me just say, the Official Wiki is amazing...but I've got a decent internet connection only in my workplace (where, unfortunately, I cannot read the Kerbal Wiki with ease), but a really crappy and data-limited connection at home: is there a way to access the Official Wiki offline like a pdf document or something like that? Or the only way is Scrapbook / webcrawlers? Thanks for the info and let me just say I'm happy to be here!
  9. Hi all, I'm fairly new to KSP and up until now I was not even able to take off That's why I decided to actually get down and study the mechanics well in order to build a flying vessel by reading very deeply the Official Wiki...but there's a catch: I'm able to hook on a good internet connection very rarely (and I usually have to rely on very tight data-sticks with not so much data available) and it would help me very much if I could have such contents offline. Does it exist an offline version of the wiki or is it possible to obtain it only with methods such as ScrapBook and the like? Cheers!
