CaptainGiblets, only two screenshots are needed for the race: at the start line and at the finish line. You must have the MET clock shown.

Bump: Mod pack download is up! Check the OP.

You discover an asteroid. What do you name it?
NQMT replied to Naten's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I'd name my asteroid "DAVE!". -
brobel: In the mod pack: FAR, PersistentTrails and the 9 tracks needed for the Championship. DB5: I usually attach the CP with an I-beam and decouple/separate it. If you use rockets, that's perfectly fine.

I have no idea how to program and I don't think I'll get my head around it. I think we should try and get a few experienced coders/modelers into this project.

I.T Marcus, Are you any good with plugins? I'd love to see a Wheel Editor of sorts, where you can change the suspension's strength, the ride height, the power output, steering range, torque etc. from a GUI. Do you think you could do that? - Kyrian EDIT: Maybe also different types of sports rover wheels, e.g. push-rod and pull-rod suspension.

Hey DB5! Nice to see you back! I think having extended points is too many, and I'm not sure we'll even get 10 drivers. If your driver dies in the car, you've made a bad car. I suggest a redesign.

1. They most definitely are not slow. 2. Nobody wants Jeb to die in a car crash... They want him to die in a ROCKET crash! Best to keep him safe for the time being.

REGULATIONS FOR FORMULA K CARS: Command / Structure: 1. Command 1.1. Must be driven by a Kerbal in an EAS-1 External Command Seat. 1.2. Only 1 Kerbal and 1 seat are permitted. 1.3. In order for RCS (see Powertrain: 2) to work, you must drive in Docking Mode. 2. Structure. 2.1. Kerbal must be safe from front and side impacts, and safe from rolling. 2.2. Rear wing must be on a separate pylon, connected to either the base of the car, or the pylon keeping the driver safe from a roll. 2.3. Minimum weight of vehicle is 0.9t with EMPTY RCS tanks. (see Powertrain: 2) Powertrain: 1. Must be powered by four (4) RoveMax Model M1. No more, no less. 1.1. All wheels may be powered and steerable. 2. One (1) FL-R10 RCS tank is permitted, along with two (2) Place-Anywhere 7 RCS ports. Aerodynamics: 1. Four (4) Small Control Surfaces permitted. 2 are to be at the front of the vehicle, and 2 are to be at the rear. [EDIT] For the Front Wing, you are permitted to use one (1) Large Control Surface. 1.1. Control Surfaces MUST be locked. Visuals: 1. Other mods are permitted for visuals, but if I decide that they give you an advantage, they must be removed or the vehicle will be disqualified. Races, entry and scoring: Races will start from a standing start, and using the MET timer, racers will complete one timed lap of the circuit. They must use the PersistentTrails mod, included in the package. On entry to the competition, racers will need to provide a screenshot of their vehicle in the editor, along with a name of their company/team and the designation of their car. In each race, 3 screenshots are required: - MET Start Time - MET Finish Time - PersistentTrails track. This will verify your lap time and your route, to check if you've cut the corners. Using the grey brick walkways as part of the track is permitted, but using the grass is not. You must start your lap perpendicular to the start/finish line. At the closure of each round, total points will be tallied. At the closure of Race 9, a Top 3 will be appointed and they will be able to receive an image to place in their signature, if they wish.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Kerbal Racing Federation's Formula K World Championship! Formula K is the ultimate racing category of Kerbal motorsport. Only the best can make it, and only the best of the best can win. Do you have what it takes? Formula K is an open-wheeled car racing championship. This season, the championship consists of 9 races. For your vehicle to be eligible for entry, it needs to fit all the regulations in the post below. Rules: Formula K mod pack required. Link here. No corner cutting, we will be able to tell. The KSC World Supercar Championships!
NQMT replied to Kingtj44's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Summed up: Minimum weight: 1.5t. A ban on RCS ports, but not tanks, as they can be used for variable ballast. LLL should be allowed (but not required) so you can use the dead weights for ballast as well. Multiple circuits, of which I have heaps. Control Surfaces must be locked. No all-out spamming of control surfaces. Max amount of wheels: 6. All good? You should add these to the OP if you like them. -

Kingtj44, I propose a few rules: Minimum weight: 1.5t. Maximum weight: 6t. A ban on RCS ports, but not tanks, as they can be used for variable ballast. LLL should be allowed (but not required) so you can use the dead weights for ballast as well. FAR should also be required. Multiple circuits, of which I have heaps. Must drive in Docking Mode, no ASAS. Control Surfaces must be locked. No all-out spamming of control surfaces. Max amount of wheels: 6. Sort through these and choose what you like. - Kyrian -
The KSC World Supercar Championships!

I did all 10, no need for pits. Command seat, good visibility. 2 of the smallest lights available, so it still qualifies. I'm ready. -
The KSC World Supercar Championships!
NQMT replied to Kingtj44's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I just did a test run with one of my Formula K cars, had to empty the RCS tank for it. No pictures because it's not official. I got 8:28. Top recorded speed: 29.1m/s, run under FAR, has 4 small control surfaces, set to Inactive. Also I took the best possible line through all the corners, 95% of the lap I was above 25m/s. -

Kingtj44, maybe we could merge this with my Formula K idea. I had a thread which was quite successful but the rules were buggy. I can also design tracks for you, and we can add a second category to the racing. Sound good? -
If you could change any one decision in the 20th century what would you do?
NQMT replied to Kerbal01's topic in Forum Games!
Mine too. I want my place here, thank you very much! -

Try clicking the "Buy Now" button. It still downloads the .craft file, I just tested it. No major problem. Carry on. As for the download count, sorry, no idea. - K

You all know the mountains behind the KSC? Well, I'd made a small, nimble fighter-like aircraft and felt like going crazy. So, I flew as close as I could to the mountains. I had a small spotlight mounted to the bottom of my plane. By the end, that was gone and I'd almost lost my nose wheel.
