[1.0.4] Instell Incorporated Experimental Technologies
Arsonik replied to 8bitsblu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I would love to see some things along these lines, seconded! -
Aircraft SAS needs some special case handling.
Arsonik replied to cephalo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If the plane is naturally pitching down you can tilt the wing surfaces behind the center of mass forward (down), or vise versa for any wings towards the front of the plane. Depending on the type of plane/how you have designed it, as little as a 5° tilt could have a large impact. If you don't understand what I mean by the direction to tilt the wings, just look at your aircraft stationary on the launchpad and see what direction the wings on your pitch axis tilt when you pitch. Copy this in the editor.' Hope this helps. -
Without reading past the first page of replies, this is my opinion. I see fuel refining`s usefulness being limited to playing on Career mode. In particular hard mode careers. Where you might find some cost reductions on on trips beyond Kerbin orbit. If you have several missions planned to bodies outside of Kerbin, suddenly you have the potential to save HUGE money on fuel by sending upper stage payloads empty on fuel and filling them in LKO or at a Minmus refueling station.

Playing KSP the hard way (abyssal lurker)
Arsonik replied to MalfunctionM1Ke's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Best necro ever. -
I have noticed this many times in the past, cant say I've ever tried exploiting it though.
-
I've been watching this since you posted in the old thread about it. Between the positive feedback and a general desire to play with this I'm gonna go ahead and give it a whirl. Thanks Markus.

Looks like the Mk3 -> 2m adapter and 2m -> 1.25m adapter from the last update. Not sure though.

You know you overbuilt your rocket when...
Arsonik replied to Deadpangod3's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Ooops.... -
Oh someone knows for certain, they just aren't spilling the beans. This was a nice subtle way of asking again though. This is meant as tongue in cheek and I really wish the best to modders with the transition into each update.

I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that it won't be anything to worry about unless returning from beyond the moon, or on an absurd trajectory. I'm assuming that most people de-orbit shallow already rather then pointing at the ground and accelerating so it shouldn't be of much concern in that respect. For everyone else it will be a quick learning experience.
-
Presumably it will be of the form that it will be negligible to the integrity of the spacecraft except for specifically marked instances (looking at you lander pods) or returning from beyond the depth of Kerbin's gravity well.

If you were a Kerbal, would you fly in your own rockets?
Arsonik replied to jwilhite's topic in KSP1 Discussion
All of them but the ones I decide to make very late at night with little to no planning to try and kill 30 minutes or so before bed. -
No. It is incredibly difficult.... It would have made more sense to say you are incredibly gifted at this game, rather then detract from his acheivement. But then you'd sound like an A-Hole. Can't we keep humble brags out of threads like this? It's not about what you can do anyways, you have to make your own thread for that...

Kronal Vessel Viewer "blueprint" functionality?
Arsonik replied to KristopherKerblumbus's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I recall another mod with an almost identical functionality but I just can't remember the name. I can't be bothered to go searching from my phone. I think it was 'vessel exploder' or something... I'm probably way off. But you would load its GUI in game, set the parameters and click 'explode' to generate these blueprint style pictures of your ships. It was AWESOME to say the least and I was just thinking to myself the other day that hopefully its been maintained through the updates. Good luck on this -
Since the very first Science update, I've always ran a second science or career game along side of my main science/career game. I simply config edit the persistence file to give myself ample funds and/or science for what I feel like I'm doing. It is the only way to do science in a "Sandbox" format game. Ridiculous if you ask me. Sometimes when I'm just puttzing around with the game I want to do for instance, a science mission to Duna! But that isn't possible in a standard Sandbox. Performing the experiments just tells you that you don't need to do this... You can't access your science log history, etc. I really wish they would add these options to the normal Sandbox. Hell, just keep expanding the custom game settings they have implemented for Careers now. That way you can land anywhere in-between Career, Science, or Sandbox that you'd like.

I recall having issues with tweak everything and your fairings in one of the last updates. I really enjoy the aesthetic of the fairings and the functionality however. Here is to hoping everything is sorted out for 0.90 update because I would like to give them another shot now that I'm back on a clean install. Also, my nostalgia cup overflows whenever anyone mentions UO so I just have to shout out from UO Catskills 98-04 best game ever.

[1.12.x] Mark IV Spaceplane System (August 18, 2024)
Arsonik replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Been having a lot of fun with this for the past week. I've got a few of the fuel tanks modified to hold Liquid Hydrogen so they can run NFT engines/fuel in orbit. I've had some pretty cool designs and I'm still coming up with new ideas every time I load up kerbal. Perhaps you could add Liquid Hydrogen/Argon/Xenon tanks into the next update, or simply make them toggleable between Lf/LfO/LH/Ar/Xe. Some cross-mod love for your growing lineup . Hopefully you can get the FAR issues sorted out, and this will be a perfect package for me. Thank you for delivering on another great mod! I've been meaning to post some pictures of some of the designs I've done to inspire some people perhaps, but I am a huge procrastinator. Maybe this weekend... -
Annnnd it's scrubbed.

How well did the parachute work on reentry?

The most simple of "features".... Please please please please.... Let me change my keybinds from in-game. Video options would be nice to, but not as important. Why can I not access this menu from in-game (in-flight/anywhere other then main menu)? Others and myself included have mentioned this many times before. Make it happen please.

If it's on a random "dictionary" website on the internet doesn't make it a fact. Also its obvious he mean't space shuttle. Whatever helps you sleep at night though. And who is to say that taking off on top of a rocket is not conventional? Maybe not conventional for a PLANE but we are indeed discussion a SPACEplane.

This happens to me to much. I tend to build a new launcher for every vehicle. Its a trivial task (albeit it enjoyable) after 1100+hours of designing and flying. I always tend to notice the little things I want to iterate while I am on my way up. So, "lets move these RCS nozzles", "the solar panels would work better with this orientation", "it's flipping dark, where are the lights?". Sure enough, on many occasions I've had a backwards docking port. So, I'll revert to fix it... But wait... Let me just modify these other bits and pieces first.. Great, looks good, launch it! Oh ya.... about that docking port. Whoops. At least the lights look pretty
