It's all relative
Blondai replied to Blondai's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Suggestions & Development Discussion
To be honest, I was worried people would mis-interpret or argue, personally, I'm quite happy for the reasons given by daninplainsight for GR, I was thinking of implementing a simple ratio for planets orbit relative to distance to the star. But obv that would not affect our little kerbal base, so yeah, implementing it would have minimal effect for too much hassle. I see what whatsEJstandfor has said, about needing every object being warped by a fractional amount, and agree with it, if this is possible, personally I like the idea of large colony ships and realistic Sub-C travel, I am quite fascinated by Laplaces equations and relativity, the Twin Paradox was always a fave when studying Astrophysics, which explains my interest. But I was never a computer scientist, so wanted input from other Kerbal fans. Thanks All -
I'm sure I've seen someone say that the speeds of ships of in KSP2 would not warrant relativistic effects, however if they could, surely by inserting laplaces equations into the game on a ship by ship basis, and obv, having a max speed of C, you could save precious resource on ships, oxygen/snacks etc. Also, you could use General relativity, to have orbits that reflect GR, such as Moho around Kerbol being affected most, I'm sure this may have been discussed already, but coming back to forum ready for KSP2. Maybe some clever Moddershall in the future will help, I wouldn't know how it affects orbit calculations/projections. I don't mind either way really, I'm totally aboard the hype train.

KSP2 shouldn’t need Sandbox (or maybe it should?)
Blondai replied to Pthigrivi's topic in Prelaunch KSP2 Discussion
Personally, I love Sandbox, However, if there is a science type mode, or however they implement on boarding new players, will start with that. Not sure I would be fussed on a "Career" mode, if similar to KSP 1. I have been playing ksp for hundreds if not thousands of hours, but actually glad there will be better instructional videos. Hopefully with some advice on how to do some calculations myself. -
So... it is out in europe, downloaded in the uk midnight, but gotta work today....

Blondai replied to Theeexplodingbomb's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
Duna Maniac, how did you find this out? Does this include europe for ps4 -
Ps4/XBox1 Estmated rerelease dat
Blondai replied to Theeexplodingbomb's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
DD_ bwest, my post was merged with this one, the reference to the old world is to Europe, while I know that there is the January update and relaunch in January, there has been zero specific news on a european ps4 launch. On google nor in the forum, so don't have that condescending tone [snip]. -

Now with take-two in charge, and a new port developer, will we be seeing a ps4 port in the old world anytime soon? -
Eeloo and Moho. Made a massive ship with space plane and Landers that I smashed Dres and Jool system with.
-
Is there any news on the European ps4 release. I have KSP on my laptop but it won't run at the moment. And it would just be easier to start up on PlayStation. Been KSP dry for a year or two now and started getting the shakes

Howdy Kerbalnauts Has anybody been experiencing game crashes when they fly to the poles, I am just trying to get a little science in a little plane to get a new technology on career, so on two occasions now i have attempted the long laborious polar flight, but each time, after several hours of flying, the game crashes a few hundred k before the icecap. Thanks Blondai
-
Okay. Thanks Kerbalnauts. I believe i got my answer, just remembered I posted this. I believe I'll prob upgrade to an 8 or 16 gb ram gaming desktop (Prob Vibox; good offers on atm) within a few months. But will limit my mods until Game patching lessens a bit, it can be nuisance ofc putting in and removing mods. Haven't been able to play KSP for the last 9 months really, with University. But can't wait to get back into the Kerbalsphere; especially with 1.0. Thanks Peace Out Dai

Howdy Kerbals I've heard a lot of talk about the unity 5 update for some time now, but I don't know what it really means. I play KSP on a Dell Inspiron, so the game gets quite jumpy if I look at any planets at the best of times, though I am hoping to get a decent gaming desktop soon. So I'm wondering if someone can explain to me what this unity 5 upgrade really is, is it game engine? will it make the game run smoother? or will it improve graphics but require more gaming power? Someone please explain. Thank You Dai

I jad this problem with my larger rockets in a similar style to that. I find tail fins on each stage helps. The earlier stages have bigger fins to keep lift on the arse. Also lots Well placed struts helps. You wanna make triangles where ever possible with them. Any looseNess at the bottom will cause enines to swing out. Causing as symmetric thrust. If this happens mid flight. Throttle back. I will upload pictures of my large lifter soon

Between Noob and Intermediate
Blondai replied to donfouts's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I would say I'm advanced intermediate. But took me 500 hours and lots of Scott Manley to get here. The secret at the start is learning how to stage properly, and making sure you have all the equipment and fuel you need for the mission in hand. I would say leave the career till you get a bit more experience, even seasoned players can struggle with it. And science. Beginners I believe should be in sandbox. At least until you have an intuition for the orbital mechanics, and vehicle construction. -
I think function, always, but I think as long as you design your missions and vehicles yourself, your character bleeds into the design. I personally make everything very modular, so if something goes wrong, i can tear apart my vehicles and rebuild something new as I see fit. So my designs tend to have their own unique look.

Are Sabre Engines More Efficient?
Blondai replied to Blondai's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yep. That's it. I'm levelling out. But not raising pitch at rocket stage. So I get to about 29000 and have a flat trajectory. But don't raise when I switch. Will try this later this week. Thank you. -
I thought that, but you might miss something, and can you even fit docking ports together in the VAB. - - - Updated - - - Ha, thank You. Shame Laythe One is boring. Had Blank Mind at Time.
-
Haha that would be awesome. But doubtfully cost effective.... but still awesome.
-
I remember thinking on several occasions how I would love to Get 3d models of the ships i've built in KSP. No time more than after Laythe One. After sending the mother ship the small space plane Osprey. And two small landers to the Jovian system. And returning after exploring laythe bop pol and even dres (It was a big modular ship with lots of fuel). And now it's actually happened. But I have seen mostly evidence of prints of stuff straight from the Construction Facilities (rockets and planes). So to the point. Will I be able to print stuff I have built in orbit?

Are Sabre Engines More Efficient?
Blondai replied to Blondai's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I wonder if this is actually my issue, my space planes certainly follow the rules that most people abide, but I always get higher into orbit when I accidentally fly too steep, I always that that flying flat as possible is the best way to achieve orbit, but I am beginning to wonder if my launch profile might be too shallow? -

I assume thats a MOD, was just trying stock until 1.0 -
Are Sabre Engines More Efficient?
Blondai replied to Blondai's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thanks, so like, any small engine, or LV model - - - Updated - - - Yeah, i am moderately experienced at space planes, I'm not scott manley, but I en too bad, i have had like 4 models that have got into orbit, I even took one off, docked to a massive mother ship, equipped with small landers, went to Jool, landed on laythe with plane, and got back to ship, checked out bop Pol and then to dres, and then home, landing my plane plus escape pod back at space centre... so like i say, not total noob, it is just a bit of teething troubles getting a MkII that is actually useful for refueling and satellite delivery, though i got one now, it is an instability upon return, which i think i can resolve with an extra pair of tail wings But main point is still just getting to orbit, with maximum fuel leftover Proof of moderate competance - - - Updated - - - Best model so far -

Blondai replied to Blondai's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This is what i was thinking, all this time trying for efficiency, I've lost it. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Points to you good sir. - - - Updated - - - Sorry, OMS?
