I would suggest to go through the in game tutorial for more help in order to remove the command module from the rest of the ship u need to use a decoupler when the decoupler is next in line(left side) when you press space bar it will disconnect the two parts *if the bottom part is still moving upward it will jam into the decoupler until it stops thrusting then it will fall off
