Whatever that was it was black and it was fast!
The14th replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Niiiice. Thanks for updating this. For a start, your new tanker is definitely the best looking refuelling rover I have lined up near the runway. But I'm seriously either going to have to start building some kind of universal refueller, or install something like KAS! The Mk3 definitely looks better with the alterations to the solar panel and the reaction wheel - looks so sleek! Kiss the Mun! I still needs lots of practice at landing VTOLS - It took me way too long to get this close - and it was one hell of a bumpy landing, but I gotta say that the Mk3 Scythe is durable enough even for my rough skills! That is a thing of beauty! Thanks Cupcake, for an awesome update to an awesome ship! ~The14th~ -
Hi Narcosis, thought you might find it fun to read about a slight oops I had with an O.O.P.S I usually have two or three O.O.P.S ferrying Kerbals between my rudimentary stations in orbit. I was transporting some of my favourite Kerbals to rendezvous with a station where there was a craft which was going to take them down to Kerbin, but it was late, I wasn't paying attention and I'd forgotten to refuel the O.O.P.S before setting off and I'd forgotten to quick-save. The result was a dead shuttle with no fuel in a precarious orbit. I quickly knocked up something in the VAB, a Shuttle Collector for O.O.P.S, or a S.C.O.O.P.S if you will. Actually I'm a bit embarrassed to show this... I'm sure better builders like yourself or other people reading this will see it and be dismayed by how inefficient it is. I know I put too many batteries on it, too many parachutes, too many... things... I was erring on the side of caution since I didn't have time to test it. It was getting very late and I didn't want to close down for the night without rescuing my favourite Kerbals. The S.C.O.O.P.S meets O.O.P.S In my haste, I also forgot to turn the S.C.O.O.P.S lights on... the reason I stuck batteries on there in the first place *facepalm*. However, the whole thing was daft anyway because in my tiredness I'd already forgotten that the O.O.P.S has a perfectly adequate docking light and more than enough 'lecky to power it. Ok Guys, let's go home. Parachute overkill.... but they were my favourite Kerbals, damn it!!! The Enquiry Board concluded that the hapless shuttle pilot already suffered enough having to watch the ground hurtling towards his face during the decent. Nevertheless, he'll be driving refuelling rovers from now on until I've forgiven him! Still loving your O.O.P.S and I'm going to send a replacement into orbit tomorrow ~The14th~

The Mother Of All Drop Ships...
The14th replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
My relief team arrived refreshed, not too drunk, and have all given positive responses on the feedback forms. I think the Queen Bee has our official approval! What's amazing is that you still had something left in the budget for the roller disco after the enormous cost of sound-proofing those passenger compartments right next to the engines! Wowza... so if I'm understanding this correctly, we have a Scythe Mk3, a long ranged explorer, and this awesome looking bulldog coming soon? Cupcake with this Ferrero Rocher, you're really spoiling us! -

It's a strange feeling. Seeing that screenshot sort of makes me want to try it, but at the same time there's a voice screaming in my head: If anyone does do it, I hope the post some pics in this thread! -

Holy Moly! I was looking forward to seeing a Cupcake-style passenger carrier, but this is looking even better than I imagined! (And finally, a ship with a decent trouser press!) I'm really looking forward to its release! -
Barracuda - Interplanetary SSTO VTOL
The14th replied to Cupcake...'s topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
My first thought was - Laythe! Good Gravy! My second thought was - LOL, fishing poles! Genius! <<Then awesome things happened>> My eighteenth thought was - Blimey, I bet it was hard landing those fuel trucks. ( and from the outtakes it looks like it was! ) My nineteenth thought was - Why is the truck fitted with a 56K modem? Definitely different to your normal videos, but I enjoyed it immensely! The rendezvous at the 11 minute mark was a thing of beauty. Well done for this. It really shows of the truly awesome capabilities of your craft. -
I just realised I never actually posted my appreciation in this thread. I love the Zenith Series, and rely on them heavily (pun intended) whenever I need a lifting stage that's actually reliable! I really appreciate the effort you've gone into to make the sub-assembly versions work among other things. I'll be looking forward to seeing where you take it when 0.22 comes out. Thanks for your awesome work.

I'd also be keen on downloading your stock craft file - I find landings difficult enough without introducing the ocean into the equation, but damn that is one pretty sea plane.

Not the way I fly it! Even with my spanky new joystick I still need lots and lots of practice with VTOLs before I'm as good as you guys. Currently I'm making my Kerbals turn green... wait, what?

I love the shuttle, and I love the name! Another must-have from Horizon Heavy Industries!

[Showcase] Showcase your Orbital Dry Docks

I'm really liking these designs. The only thing that's putting me off designing one of my own is the extra part count, but maybe I'm being over cautious? -

From what I can see Barracuda, we can hardly complain about that! -

As I was watching the videos I was thinking "It'd be great if we could get Cupcake to share that refuelling tanker too, so I don't have to build a height adapter to mine..." but I shouldn't have worried, you've already got us covered! Excellent, I'm going to try this out tonight (since my joystick has finally arrived) Thanks for another great ship! -

Every time I see this pic I think the front Tadpole is wearing a little bow tie! -
Wow, this thread is amazing. Really great attention to detail! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to deploying the kit at some point soon

Cool - I'm looking forward to finding out what you come up with -
Congratulations on a successful mission! I'm still new to the game, and no where near ready for manned missions to Laythe yet.
-
I really like this! ( And I'm extremely arachnophobic ;p ) I'm relatively new to KSP, but pretty soon I'm going to need to move things around in while orbit, and I'm definitely going to be using some of these! Thanks!
-
I tried some short test flights last night and I love these! Thanks for sharing them Rune!

I'm so glad the forum's back! Well done for all the hard work. I've only had the game for a few weeks and I hadn't realised how much visiting the forum had become part of my daily routine.

This is such a cool idea. A must for any space stations I build!

Tadpole - Light VTOL Lander & LV (100 Parts!)

How you manage to balance aesthetics, usability, and minimal design in this is amazing. You're too damn talented! Also Kerbals always look like their having the time of their life in your vids. I could watch them all day! -
I love the video, and I can't wait to try the bike out!
