  1. I would also like to see some effort put forth into simplifying the ocean if at all possible. I have a decent rig and can run most games on the high or very high settings at around 60 FPS as an average. In KSP, I drop to a pain-staking 10-20 FPS whenever I look at not only the ocean anymore, but also the terrain. This has made the game nearly unplayable for me as it sucks away the fun of exotic planets with liquids present.
  2. I like it! It's tough to get the scale of things in real life close in KSP, but it seems you pulled it off quite well, and it even makes orbit!
  3. It's a nice sketch, but I think you should work on the mouth and the chin. Kerbals actually have pretty cylindrical heads, and not so pronouced lips. I think you may be drawing too much of your information from drawing real people, rather than Kerbals.
  4. This is probably one of the best examples of evolution I know. While it seems the plant may have "known" how it was meant to be. Those that die and those that live on create a sort of meta-conciousness. While it may not actually be a form of sentience, it's behavior is similar, albeit very slow. If you want to learn some more about evolution and how it works, I highly recommend checking out BoxCar2D. It's an excellent tool that gets evolution down to the very basis of what it is.
  5. If breaking saves mean we can get all this amazing new content and overhauls, by all means, break saves. It's not worth holding the game back.
  6. Could be the decoupler bouncing into one of the fuel tanks. I've not really had a problem with the silent explosion problem, but I have had to deal with my rocket snapping halfway up whilst launching. Not fun.
  7. Sorry if my thoughts were wrong. I may have forgotten. But either way, you couldn't really hang a pod in your house. That's the point I was trying to get across.
  8. But they aren't. The MK1 pod is 1.75 meters wide. A kerbal (if EVA'd) is roughly equal to the size of it. In the IVA view, the Kerbal takes up almost all the space in the pod.
  9. Honestly it just depends on what you like better. With steam, you get trading cards, a web browser overlay (which I always thought was garbage, but hey, that's me) and you don't really have to worry about not getting access to an update. I stuck with the KSP store version, and plan to for a while.
  10. ...What BS? Everyone has the right to voice their concern to the community. I've seen myself within the last 5 days that people are going overboard with their hype levels, as border-line ".21 when" threads and even blatantly asking for a release date is a sign of overhyping the community. As young as some of our forum members are, that is bad because they don't really know how to channel their hype other than just asking for a release date.
  11. May want to try creating mesas rather than the mountains it seems to be generating. Right now it seems as though it is trying to generate a planet and is bunching up on a small sphere, causing it to be very ruggid all around, when the real Minmus is quite smooth.
  12. It seems his concern is genuine. Do you have anything to say as to why he is wrong? Linux builds are rarely tested in any game. I also agree that while it is nice to give the community some substance as to what is happening, that it is also bad to make them think it's going to be released any minute, as that leads to an outcry when bugs come up and they can't release it.
  13. They've stated they won't release on weekends anymore. I'm glad they've kept their word. It was a nightmare in the past
  14. It's been in either one of the streams or a post. But it is true. Even Yarg stated last night in the stream that it's been running faster for him.
  15. If anything, it should make it even better. Either Mu or HarvesteR (I forget which) fixed the ocean lag. It used to cause the majority of lag because it generated it in a strange way.
  16. If you were to leave a very long, unbalanced craft up and you stayed focus on it at 1x timewarp for a very long while, you would eventually see this effect come into play. The slightest tap of control however, and you would have to wait for it to regain it's orientation.
  17. Agreed. Yargnit, you're a great guy and I hope you stick with KSP. You're a fantastic streamer and a great person that can handle stress. Just sorry you had to get back on stream when you looked ready for sleep. Also, Ted, C7, EJ, N3X15, and PD for the streams, I liked them a lot as well.
  18. It's coming in the update, as bac9 mentioned it in the stream.
  19. Within a week or two tops. I wouldn't count the moments though, as that will drive you insane. Just play something else while you're waiting.
  20. I think the second render looks pretty nice. If I were you, I'd tone down the atmosphere a little bit on the dark half of the planet. You've got the spherical dropoff going good, it just needs to be a bit more pronounced. Also, maybe work on a better sun texture, as the current one is basically a lens flare effect.
  21. I don't really consider it cheating so long as you aren't clipping intakes, engines, fuel tanks, or the same wing together. Using the long spaceplane cones work great for providing 4 places to mount thrusters. It's also necessary if you want to build something cool, but requires clipping to do so.
  22. Pretty nice and way better than I can do . You should try and work on 3D details on the helmet, as those can add a lot of depth to a work.
  23. Read the OP. He wasn't asking for a release date. He obviously stated that he was looking for a rough estimate.
