  1. So much more intuitive than a bunch of numbers and trial and error flights. Great job!
  2. The sweep of that middle fin on Dream Chaser always bugged me, looks like it's bent to one side .
  3. All of the above and radial-mounted parafoils. Just think how much easier stage recovery will be with a steerable, square parachute that generates lift. Also, flesh out size 0 and 3 parts.
  4. Neat craft. The real LADEE had a modular construction not unlike KSP, a standard spacecraft bus developed at NASA Ames Research Center.
  5. Multiple planet flyby (Duna, then Eve.) Mun landing in 13.3 demo "look ma, no legs!" sorry no pics of that one.
  6. I second Corvus. I've also used FASA's. I'm going to have to try the others.
  7. Beautiful! I like the area rule fuselage particularly (that's the wasp-waist section in the middle). I wonder if the transonic area rule works in 1.x.x. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_rule edit: +rep
  8. Novel idea, don't think I've seen that done that way. Unless it can't achieve orbit without it, the Nuke could be left in orbit as a space tug while a payload could ride in your cargo bay. + rep.
  9. In that shot of the booster, the interface w/ the crew capsule looks like a KSP decoupler. Go Blue! Congrats!
  10. "We got Death Star! (Death Star!) We got Death Star! (Death Star!) We got Death Star! (Death Star!)"
  11. The RTGs powered the Lunar surface experiments left by the crew. They are somewhat controversial for their use in spaceflight (due to concerns about a launch failure contaminating a crash site). However without them deep space exploration beyond Jupiter would be very difficult.
  12. Maybe an Uranus analog refers to it's axial tilt (which may be mentioned above,I only skimmed the thread). A nearly 90 degree tilt could present a challenge for exploration of any moon system, more delta-v requirements for changing inclination.
  13. Poultry: Bantam, Rooster, Gamecock, Rhode Island Red, etc.
  14. Build only what you need. Giant solar arrays and excessive lighting is bound to drive up your part count. I second space tugs (at least probed upper stages with RCS) as well to move parts around. Seems like what everyone is suggesting up to this point is the 1970 version of the Space Transportation System proposed by NASA administrator Thomas Paine, but nixed because of cost (except for Shuttle).
  15. Haven't gotten on yet today, I've been thinking about giving the 3-Kerbal pod a powered landing recovery ability, inspired by DragonRider.
  16. Just play with the maneuver nodes. Mechjeb tends to put ships in a 90 degree heading (Counter-Clockwise). Moving the Node earlier or later, seeing where the Mun will be when the encounter occurs is the key. Later departures tend to lead to 270 degree (Clockwise, Free Return, Apollo-style) orbit. In the real world passing in front of an orbiting body will slow you down while passing behind the body increases speed (Gravity Assist, or "Slingshot").
