  1. very impressive considering no part clipping. part clipping is definitely cheating because parts have different volumes for a reason and when you clip them you defeat the intention behind parts having different volumes.
  2. The easiest fix for that is just add more SAS and always keep SAS turned on.
  3. I started a K-Com corporation a while ago but never did much with it. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/60100-K-com?highlight=k-com
  4. The problem I see with this kindve staging is part count. Whats great about asparagus staging is the relatively low part count. So even though you might lose some fuel efficiency you dont lose as much framerate.
  5. Except that's not intake spam. Intake spam is when you have dozens of intakes stacked inside eachother occupying the same space. Which shouldnt even be possible since two atoms cant occupy the same space.
  6. Players should not be limited except in cases where physical laws are violated. Intake spam is such a case. The easiest solution is to significantly reduce the amount of oxygen from 20km-25km making it impossible for even intake spam to overcome the lack of oxygen.
  7. did you add a nuke engine yet? can it land on the mun/minmus or duna/eve? my non-vtol ssto fighter has successfully landed on duna. it was actually easier to land on duna than the mun because parachutes help you land the right way. theoretically with external drop tanks it could even reach laythe.
  8. This is my stock heavy tanker. Its 3200 tons. Puts 40,000 fuel and 3,000 MP into 100km orbit. Can also transport 20,000-25,000 fuel to Laythe orbit without refueling (or twice that with refueling). Its basically just a bunch of orange tanks, mainsails, and nuke engines held together by an absurd number of struts. But it works. A design similar to this (although perhaps not as excessive) should be able to lift just about anything into space.
  9. copious amounts of struts. thats how I keep my sstos from falling off my ships.
  10. Not really seeing the advantage over asparagus staging. Proper asparagus staging will also decouple unneeded engines to prevent them from becoming dead weight. Asparagus staging can also give you higher TWR to exit the lower atmosphere faster.
  11. Rapiers are fine, its air intakes that are overpowered. Theyre able to intake air at altitudes where there simply shouldnt be any air in the first place.
  12. Does anyone have any tips for making a plane more maneuverable? Does it have to do with wingspan?
  13. too much cheaty part clipping on both. For once id like to see someone design a legit plane that doesnt excessively clip intakes.
  14. 21 engines is fine but the design should be staged so it drops empty tanks and engines as the fuel decreases. That way you get the extra thrust for long burns, but as you use up the fuel, you can ditch the empty tanks and extra engines to keep your efficiency as high as possible.
  15. Id like to see more realistic aerodynamics and severely nerfed turbojets/air intakes.
  16. seems like some of the new planets are impossible to land on with stock parts though. thud is like tylo with four times the gravity :\
  17. even for a polar orbit all you have to do is time accelerate till youre over where you want to be.
  18. Kerbin doesnt wobble around its axis like earth though? So whats the point of this? You can already tell where your satillites are going to fly over easily enough.
  19. You do realize the entire earth was accurately mapped by the time NASA starting launching rockets right? Its not unreasonable for kerbals to know where the different biomes of their planet are...
  20. another planet would be nice but ultimately unfulfilling in the grand scheme of things. what we need is for the campaign mode to give us missions, because sandbox mode gets boring once youve gone everywhere.
  21. Small scale mining isn't time-economical, since you can just send another fuel tanker from Kerbin in less time than it takes to make multiple trips with a smaller mining ships. So my solution was to make mining kethane time-economical by using brute force mining. This is my Heavy Kethane Miner. It carries 112000 kethane and was designed specifically to mine massive amounts of Kethane on Pol/Bop and transfer it to Laythe orbit to refuel ships there. It has 12 nuclear engines which provide enough thrust to travel to any planet in the Kerbol system. Although it can only land and takeoff from low gravity moons/planets like Pol, Bop, Gilly, Ike, Dres, etc... And quite frankly mining on the mun/minmus is a waste of time because Kerbin is so close.
  22. Any chance of getting .craft files for your ships vanamonde?
