  1. patriotism is to be proud of your country. i feel that everyone should be proud of their country. that is all.
  2. awesome :-) patriotism is something everyone should take part in and celebrate the ideals and differences that make their country unique!
  3. 8000!!!!! This thing is getting so close!!
  4. They are engineered perfectly to be just strong enough to withstand launch forces while minimizing weight. In fact, the flexibility actually assists with withstanding the forces as rigid structures are more brittle.
  5. And to think they weighed 2 tons. They look like they're made out of plastic!
  6. watched this live at work. it was one of the better broadcasts i've seen with graphical telemetry, beautiful real shots, and excellent commentary.
  7. Got a retweet from @KerbalSpaceP so here's to hoping that we get another big jump in supporters!!
  8. Nice! I've been tracking the supports since the first part of October. This thing is REALLY gaining steam! It's growing much much faster than all of the other models I've seen! This is a screenshot of the Excel file I threw together.
  9. That looks amazing! In the meantime, go support this LEGO Saturn V rocket over at LEGO Ideas. :-) I mean, look at it!
  10. You are correct. This banner just appeared on the site.
  11. That's a shame :-( We'll count it for moral support anyway :-)
  12. We're over 7200 supporters now and well on the way to 10000 :-) A few more big pushes and we'll make it!
  13. If you're not participating this year, do so next year and make an impact in your community. Extra Life Home Page A way to help this year
  14. Today I learned that there's a way for gamers to make an impact for kids everywhere. Extra Life 2015
  15. I'm not sure what happened but the supporter count is FLYING up! It went up 600 in less than 14 hours and is now going up at a rate of about 30-40 per hour. At this pace. We'll reach the goal by the end of the month! Let's keep the momentum going so if you haven't already, share this with someone, post a link on your facebook or twitter, and ask for support!
  16. Interesting. I think I'll stick with that order if only because of the advancements in tech over time. Playing 4 first and then 1 would feel like such a step backwards in gameplay I'm sure. Sounds like 1, 2, 3, NV, 4 is the route I'm going to take. I'll mess with the other ones only if I'm still int he mood after finishing 4.
  17. I actually do feel the same and have begun to avoid it. I use webmail for personal uses and Outlook for business use.
  18. Ahhh got it. I think your use of the word "qualifying" is what threw me off. If you had said "applying" instead, I would have got the message loud and clear. To me, to qualify implies that you achieve all necessary goals and make it to the end. Which is strange because I know this is not even necessarily true. For instance, I am a big NASCAR fan (go ahead and judge) but the same is true of most automotive races. The entrants must first qualify for the race and then those that do race for the win.
  19. I've got friends at NASA and contacts with the astronaut recruiters at JSC: becoming an astronaut is NOT easy. Not that it s unreachable and it is a fantastic goal. But you won't just accidentally become an astronaut because one day. It takes many years of hard work to show that you're capable and qualified.
  20. That's all very helpful and I appreciate the responses. I can get some of the bundles from Steam for little cost so that's probably what I'll do. I don't mind isometric turn based and I think it will be well worth it to learn the background and understand how the world works. Sounds like I'll just do the main releases for now and then worry about the spin-offs if I feel like it.
  21. It may be true that there isn't a flowing story. I just assumed there was. I figured there had to be some sort of chronological progression that persisted throughout the titles. With that premise set aside then, should I just play them all in the order they were released? Are there any that I should skip for sure?
  22. Sooooo...I'm going to out myself now. I've never played any of the Fallout games and have VERY little knowledge of the story (I scanned the Wikipedia page before posting here). I am interested in playing the game from the story perspective and would like to keep things chronological without worrying about all of the spin-offs if I can help it. But I don't want to miss elements of the story by skipping spin-offs that I should have played. So this is the question: which games should I play and what order should I play them in?
  23. FlightSimX and X-Plane are the two answers you're probably going to get most often.
