Real-Time Currency Conversion
Starwhip replied to Starwhip's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Exactly. You run "advertisements" that aren't really there in the game, in order to increase your reputation among... well, whoever it is out there in the invisible towns of Kerbin. Or you borrow money from a big corporation, which might only decrease your reputation if you fail a mission, for example. If you succeed it boosts your reputation slightly, and you can borrow more money the next time. Science, well, you can sell it for sure. (Have some data!) Buying it.... eh, maybe not. Then again, there is supposedly some new balance coming out Soon. -
Is it an emblem on a military uniform? (The stuff on the lapel?)

There's also the tiny complication that the force of gravity does not seem to be confined to three dimensions...

Repost: Sleeping atop a ledge, Not lost, and yet forlorn, Gathering badges of time, Till my soul is weighed, As I catch another's eye. I am the recalling of What countless have lost; Coffee and honey, bright sunshine, Pain and misery, all entwined. What am I? Just a confirmation, as the page was cut off: It's not a photograph? How about a tablecloth or a coaster. (You get the idea, you put food on it and it's on a table)

*COUGH* And by Zekes: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/entries/1588-HMS-Queen-Elizabeth-Class-Battleship! Anyway, the tree system makes it impossible to loop parts. Which completely threw me over with Space Engineers when I first played it: I didn't realize that parts were in a grid system rather than that of a tree system. But considering that all the parts are (mostly) rectangular, it is logical to do the grid system in Space Engineers. I don't know how to do it with abstractly shaped parts, considering the variety of mods.

Stock Kerbin Escape speed record!
Starwhip replied to DMSP's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Now what's the speed at the moment of Kerbin to Sun SOI transition? It wasn't in the album. -
VTOL jets with switchable engines, for example. (Providing flaps which can be toggled) Reversing engine thrust for increased slowdown speed on a runway, or lack of runway, of which the second case would be even better.

Watching the little green line go around the display in their spare time.

Yes, Sirrobert has it: however gravity works (I think we're still not entirely sure, but hey, it could be headline news next week!) its footprint travels at the speed of light.

Yes, it's called "newline" and is used for string formatting. When you hit the enter key it adds that character to your string, assuming you've got a string and not just looking for a press of the enter key. So string1 = "Hello!" string1 += "\n Goodbye!" print(string1) would return Hello! Goodbye!

This just crossed my mind, with the new Aero update coming up, it might be a good thing to have reversers on your jet engines. You could rig something with two control surfaces that point inward and block the thrust of the engine and have the thrust go back and around the engine. (Would likely require flap/spoiler settings) Thrust already imparts forces on objects. Think "Mass Relay". All that (according to logic without looking at thrust coding) would need to be done is to recalculate the direction of thrust, and how it affects an object, instead of having no thrust if the vector is occluded. Under this system, if you had a jet engine (or a rocket, but it would probably break the part) and a structural plate mounted at a 45 degree angle to the engine, both attached to the same craft, thrust would be deflected downward (90 degrees to the engine) and you would be pushed upwards.

At the moment, you can only convert Science to Rep, or to Funds, or Funds to Rep, etc, if you have the appropriate strategy active. But if you get all the science you need, or forget to activate 100% conversion once you've unlocked the entire tree, you might get stuck with 5000-odd science points that can't be turned into something else. There should be a way to convert X Science to Y Funds, or back again (With tax, of course! You shouldn't be able to just swing your wealth around to anything, ESPECIALLY REPUTATION, without penalties). In fact, I think that the reputation system would have severe drawbacks if you TOOK something from reputation.(You get a loan, for example, or stole someone else's research and they hate you now.) I would suggest having a lower rate of conversion, as to balance it with the current system. I.E. you don't get as much as you would with the same conversion as a strategy.

Very good, but the text size makes it hard to read. (On the forum, anyway, I'll see what it's like on the other site.) Also, there is something called a "\n" character, made with the spacebar ENTER key, what? I might suggest using it.

I've got the hang of boat technology now. I'm making a much larger ship now. With room for missiles.
-
Nay. B787_300.
-
I don't know, random guesses. Is it a photograph/picture?

Stained glass window? (Wow, gargoyle wasn't it? ) Or a clock?

Hey, I wasn't ready! No fair. (Yeah, I got here too late.)

Wing panel orientation, and altitude effects
Starwhip replied to a topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Grab the entire ship, and rotate it. Watch your Center of Lift. This will confirm if it moves or not. I do not know any fixes for a moving CoL rather than to not change your angle so viciously. EDIT: Oh, and by the way, welding wings is a horrible idea: you'll definitely get problems there because when you weld them, it doesn't calculate the lift properly. -
Fastest startup engine?
Starwhip replied to Foxster's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
No, rockets are instantaneous. Jets, on the other hand, are not. If you hit "Z" you jump to max thrust (on the throttle, anyway) instantly. -
Maybe you are the fake one, and we are the real ones. Now where did B787_300 go?
