    Riddles

Well, that answer's due anytime now. Can I go next? Please? Here, I'll post it in InvisiText, for those who don't want to look yet. I am the Thing that everyone dreads, stalking, lurking around every dark bend. Tendrils of panic that can corrupt and paralyze, I am often perceived as a mere pair of eyes. Ripping one's sanity from its weak, clinging bonds, some people find me in deep, murky ponds. Often you'll see me in the dark of the night, where no one can help you escape from your plight. Many a brave man has sacrificed their life to me, be it by bullet or knife. What am I? I'll make it visible if Vaebn lets me go next.
  2. Perhaps something like this: Have couple of + and - options, like +/-1 liter, +/-5, +/-10, +/-50, +/-100, etc. That way you can roughly balance them by transferring exact amounts from each tank.
  3. Yes, that's there too. I think the section was called "Setting up the launch". EDIT: Yep, it's there. Scroll down quite a bit, there's a few pictures of the correct alignment.
  4. The answer is yes. In theory. The answer is always "yes" in theory. Will it ever happen? Probably not.
  5. When you realize that you just flew that huge rocket into orbit without SAS on. OR When you start to talk about complex docking missions to anyone who will listen.
  6. How many times am I going to write the same exact post to everyone who asks?!? Link. In sig. Go to it. Learn stuffs.
  7. I lop off the top of the hill and put it next to the rest of the hill. My small hill.
  8. You monster! Banned for stalking me!
  9. I walk in on floor 84, having forgotten that I was due to #85, and encounter a bizarre mechanical creature within. It attempts to kill me with a rotating-segment device that makes a lot of noise, but my scales hold up quite nicely. I simply burn a hole in the floor and shove it down the shaft. Then I wait, as the elevator continues upward.
  10. 50 Km doesn't create much drag. 35 Km doesn't either, but it gives you an apoapsis around 100-200 Km, which you then raise the periapsis to. A 50 Km aerobrake wouldn't really do much, maybe a Minmus-altitude apoapsis instead of a Kerbin escape.
  11. Actually, one of the most successful methods of capture I have found is to lower/raise the periapsis to 35 Kilometers. That way you get an aerobrake capture, which you can then extend the periapsis back up to 70+ kilometers. I tried that with an E-Class (Was on a 500,000 Km periapsis, I was trying to capture it. Don't ask.) and failed miserably, as the 6-NERVA engine cluster only had about 75m/s DV once I attached it... (about 200,000 Km periapsis when I was done.)
  12. I screwed up like that once. Had some part clipping by accident, and forgot that SAS wasn't enabled when there were no Kerbals on board... Gyro Kraken had a hayday. Anyway, all of you people are lucky. I have this bizarre paranoia with sending Kerbals to another planet. I still haven't done it yet, although I have sent them to Mun/Minmus/High Solar Orbit. (Although probes to Jool, Duna, and Eve) I've got an Eve and a Duna transfer window coming up soon. Goin' to Duna. Maybe...
  13. Little bit disturbing to think about, but we're something like 10,000 years overdue for an Ice Age. And people are flipping out about this 'global warming' when just 50 years ago they thought Detroit was to be covered in a mile of ice. So people are weird. Anyway, more related: if this was confirmed, we would most definitely get rid of the most carbon-emitting objects on the planet, increase the number of carbon-reducing ones, and crack down on renewable resources. Which we should be doing anyway.
  14. Banned because I have no bases.
  15. Has anyone else gotten asteroids that, when you click on them as if you were to target the CoM or take a sample, have the heading: "a potato-like rock"? They don't give you science, and you can EVA right through them. (But you can still claw them.) Mine was a D-Class on direct impact to Kerbin, heavy as a whale but extremely small.
  16. One way would also be that, instead of only a 10% science reward for transmitted data, a 50%, 75%, or even 90% transmission reward. That way, only 10% extra science is earned with a manned return mission. Also, as mentioned above, a surface sample for rovers. That would level the playing field, as the only other benefit is the EVA and Crew Reports. Even better? Something that ONLY probes can do. Like thermal scanning, or even have the instruments (thermometer, seismic thingymabob) only readable by probe cores. That adds more incentive for probes and manned missions. EDIT: So in total: Level the playing field for both probes and Kerbals; each can do nearly everything the other can do, with both not being able to do everything the other does. And let transmitted science be more valuable than the mere 10% it is now, more like 80%. EDIT 2: Or even have the Kerbals do one set of science: EVA and Crew reports, maybe take a surface sample. Then a probe does another set, something like this: Orbital scans, in-depth surface analysis, atmosphere, temperature, g-force, seismic readings, etc.
  17. I find it incredibly hard to balance fuel tanks manually, especially rocket fuel; as it contains 2 different fuel types. It would be great if there were three buttons instead of 2: Transfer IN, Transfer OUT, and BALANCE.
  18. Best plan of action is just that: action groups. Set them all to "Custom Group 1: Deploy" and when you hit "1" they will deploy.
  19. Aack, double post... I'll use this one for the next tutorial.
  20. Please excuse my lack of pictures so far. I'll add them in later. (When I have them; my saves are in another computer!) SECTION II: Tutorial #2-1: SLS Introduction Let me come out by saying that these new parts are insane. With over twice the thrust of a Mainsail, that new quad engine unit is great for all heavy lifting needs. Which you are going to have a lot of, if you plan to divert E-Class asteroids... The new size-3 parts let you launch all those massive creations into orbit with less parts and more stability. Rockomax-size payloads are now commonplace in my instance of Kerbin's SOI, bringing NERVA's and "Klaws" to the asteroids like never before. Over the next few tutorials, I will guide you in your quest to save (or even destroy!) Kerbin with your will. Stay tuned!
  21. I steal your portalgun and run away with it. I then portal up to the tallest hill I could find. My hill.
  22. I was testing a Career mode Duna flight, Apollo style, so I turned off gravity to see if the NERVA's weren't blocked by the lander. They weren't. That was good. So, I stuck an SLS launcher on it (Yep, I was almost done with the Tech Tree) and shot off to orbit. Thing was, I was on a Kerbol escape trajectory BEFORE I LEFT KERBIN'S ATMOSPHERE! I was like, "WTF is happening here?! Are the SLS engines really that overpowered?!" So, SLS ran out of fuel, and I had overshot Duna by a large margin. And I decided, "Ah, why not. I'll get them home safely." (What really happened was that I hit "Space Center" instead of "Revert to VAB" ) So I set up a Kerbin intercept. And then as I was burning (A 6-min burn, but NERVA's, so no problem) I realized that the mission wasn't a total waste, because the Duna lander had a materials bay and goo canisters. So I got science from a High Solar Orbit. Yay And then I aerobraked at Kerbin. Sorta. I was moving at 1000 m/s or so and still on a Kerbin escape trajectory. Again, "WTF?" Guess what had happened. Yep, I forgot to turn gravity back on... Oh, well. At least I got the 550 SCIENCE! points. EDIT: And I realized something else. The thing would have a hard time landing at Kerbin. It did have a hard time. I wanted the science from the lander, but to do that I got the CSM capsule, stuck it on the lander, and landed with it. Redesigning Time!
  23. Banned for... wait, that would be hypocrisy. Damn. Um... Banned for giving the gravitational parameter of Kerbol

    Riddles

Darn. Subatomic particles seem to be the answer. If not, what about quantum mechanics? EDIT: I have a really nice riddle I am dying to post here...
