Probably the best sr-71 blackbird made so far
Zuni replied to Trollkowski's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
There's too much criticism on this thread. No, it's a beautiful ship, and it deserves its title. The best Blackbird lookalike I've seen so far. Congratulations. -
Eling Kerman- he has been on like ALL of my missions.

Armored Communications Satellite
Zuni replied to WhiteWeasel's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Nice satellite, it looks tough and useful. But for real-life applications, I think it would be more worth it to shoot down a spy satellite than a communications one- but this is KSP, you blow up everything ! -
Thank you, this is by no means my best writing but it is Kerbal so it counts Thank you. And you have to wait and see...

New chapters and parts will be added as they are ready. Prologue Bill clambered down the ladder onto the surface of this new planet. He, Bill Kerman, was now the first Kerbal to step on Duna. “Duna rus rehcram a reimerp el tnanet’niam sius ej!†he called through his microphone, in his native language. I am now the first to walk on Duna. “Mission successful!†The Dunan dust floated around his boots, making mini-plumes suspended in slow motion in the low gravity. He looked up at their lander. Golden foil glimmered, but not, Bill thought, as brightly as it did at home. Bill turned away from the lander and came face to face with a huge, green tentacled monster. “Zʻnʻn ʼyr ʼa prʻmd? ʼyr zʻnʻn yntrwdyng!†Bill faintly heard echoing through his helmet. “Bob, Jeb, ertsnom, what is this, help me! Etrev esoch, tentacles, tnias minmus!†Bill jabbered, flicking between languages in panic. The creature flinched as Bill’s headset crackled. “Kraken.†The creature said, stronger this time. Bill realised that the sound was coming through his headset. It could tap comunnications! “You - Kraken?†queried Bill. “Yʼ, ʼyk byn ʼyynʻr pwn dy Kraken.†Bill took a cautious step forwards, and the creature flared up, lifting its spiked tentacles to reveal a huge mouth, filled with razor-sharp teeth. “BʼAQWMʻN ʼAWWʻQ, QLYYN ʼYYNʻR. DʻM ʼYZ ʼWNDZʻR LʼAND.†Bill screamed and leaped back into the lander, slamming the airlock. “Abort! Rennod’naba! End mission!†Then he saw Jeb’s face. He wasn’t grinning. Heartbeats thumped in Bill’s small body. Slowly, Jeb lifted up his arm and tapped his suit head and then shook his head. No communication. Bill looked over to Bob who motioned to himself, Jeb and pointed at the airlock. Then he pointed at the controls and shook his head. They heard the Kraken… And the ship was… Broken? Suddenly, a lightning quick tentacle ripped through the ship sides. An entire wall was torn off. Bob was pulled out, and Bill saw shards of helmet glass shatter everywhere. Silent screams were uttered everywhere, but nobody could hear. Slowly, one massive eye after another scanned the ship. It looked like the Kraken was leaving. Bob choked on his blood as a spiked tentacle stabbed through the lander into his stomach. Mission successful?

This is a thread to document the voyages of Krakennistan into space and beyond, whether it be by stories, reports, radio logs or blood. Krakennistan. A nation forged with technology, religion and leadership. The leading country of Kerbin. Krakennistan's past is misunderstood and controversial. Some say they came from the great Desert as warlords and tribemen. Some say they migrated from the North Pole, bringing modern culture with them. But now, whether by fluke or rightful conquest, Krakennistan has come in charge of almost the entire mainland. Krakennistan Religion Krakennistan Territory (Kerbin) Early Space Race In the early days of the Kerbin Space Race, Krakennistan and Boosteria are fighting to get men into orbit and beyond. ESR Records: First ship: Levriner I First astronaut: Jebediah First rocket crew member to fly twice: ?? First SRB-Assisted launch: ?? Highest ascent: ?? First suborbital flight: ?? First astronaut to fly twice: Ships: Levriner I (1 man, straight up/down) Download Levriner I

Jeb sat back in his plush couch, flicking through newspapers. "KRAKENNISTAN HAS WORLD'S FIRST MANNED ROCKET LAUNCH", the headlines said. "JEBEDIAH KERMAN FIRST TO SEE HOME FROM THE STARS". Warm pride drifted through Jeb's belly. Two strict but soft knocks sounded from his door. "Mister Kerman?" a heavily accented voice calls. Jeb sighed and lazily stood up. "By the Green. I'm too tired for this." he muttered to himself. He pulled open the door. A tall, groomed kerbal stood outside. "Ah, Mister Kerman, it is an honour. I am Mister Kerman, that is, Eling Kerman. I am from the local newspaper, Minmus Times." As the door slammed in his face, Eling blinked in surprise. BREAKING NEWS! Recent breakthroughs in technology have made it possible for a manned mission to the sky, domain of the Great Kraken itself. Our new ship, the Levriner I, has broken altitude and technology records by ascending to over 77,000 metres. This amazing new discovery was the moment of truth ladies and gentlemen, we are now into the Space Age. Scientists such as Bill-Bobly Kerman and Lenmy Kerman had earlier proclaimed this impossible, saying that no kerb-made item could ever escape the boundary of the earth. But now, on this great day, they have been proven wrong by our nation's great scientists. Hail the Great Kraken!

The Levriner I consists of: An escape pod (1 man pod, parachute) and ascent stage (fuel tanks amounting to 225 fuel storage with newly developed LV-909 liquid fuelled engine). At the base of the ascent stage are mounted 3 variable geometry winglets controlled by new onboard computer systems. Ascent errors: The escape pod detached from the ascent stage too late.

I have a mission suggestion for you. Send a 5 man ship to lithobrake on Moho and return. -
Munbound MK I -- Apollo Style Spacecraft
Zuni replied to Prof. Endwalker's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
In that case, MECHJEB is your best friend! I know it means that your game won't be entirely stock, but it gives delta v info, phase angles, etc. And if you're lazy enough (Like me) you can get it to entirely autopilot into kerbin orbit, transfer to duna, circularize, and land with no manual input whatsoever. -
Life supporting planet orbiting neutron star in binary system with main seq star?
Zuni replied to Zuni's topic in The Lounge
I'm just imagining that. "The crew was getting ready for bed, when all of a sudden everybody died. The end." Thanks for the advice! -
Life supporting planet orbiting neutron star in binary system with main seq star?
Zuni replied to Zuni's topic in The Lounge
Thanks for all the info, christok. I understand that a star that big is no longer a main sequence, it was a typo that I wrote that in the title. Something other than a Supernova? I'm not actually sure what it could be then, I want a sufficiently large explosion coming out of a big star (I'm of simple taste). Maybe, if a neutron star and giant are so different in solar mass then it could be in a bit of a one-sided binary system, with the neutron star orbiting the giant more than the giant orbiting it. Does this seem about right? Or would it be even more unbalanced? Wesreidau, don't worry, I have a little antagonist/protagonist/tricksy/booboo thing going on too, but there's no point explaining all of that on a space forum I just want to find out a way of making sufficient explosions and drama and fire and stars and black holes, etc. Once I have the basic science, then I will certainly work on a detailed story that makes you love the characters (When they DIIIE!). -
Banned for posting on this thread too much.

After you have solved the problem of Life, the Universe and Everything you commit suicide for there is nothing worth living for any more. I want the power to soak up electric charge and dispel it into items.
